RIHANNA has cancelled the opening concert of her upcoming tour later this week (02Jul10) due to "production changes".
The Umbrella hitmaker was due to kick off her Last Girl On Earth Tour w ith Ke$ha and Travis McCoy at Auburn’s White River Amphitheatre in Washin gton on Friday (02Jul10), but the show has been axed.
The trek will now commence on Sunday (04Jul10) in Vancouver, Canada.
Tour promoters at Live Nation announced the news on Monday (28Jun10), b laming changes in production for the cancellation.
The scrapped show means Rihanna has a little extra time with boyfriend Matt Kemp, who has been handed a little downtime by his baseball team bos ses at the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The couple spent almost a month apart recently as Rihanna toured the wo rld. The loved-up pair was inseparable at the weekend when Rihanna joined Kemp in Los Angeles for the opening of the Dodgers’ series with the New York Yankees.

Veteran crooner TONY BENNETT has slammed TV talent contest show bosses, b randing them "cruel" for failing to teach wannabe stars how to last in th e music business.
The 83-year-old entertainer spent years perfecting his craft before hit ting the big time in the 1950s.
Bennett, who has lasted 60 years in the music industry, is concerned fo r young singers who look to shows like American Idol to land themselves r ecord deals.
He tells Britain’s Newsnight, "Unfortunately today they have the childr en on American Idol. They build them up and put them in (London’s) Wemble y Stadium and then they drop them and go with the next overdog. I think i t’s quite cruel.
"The producers are not really treating the young performers right. It t akes time for them to learn their craft. They should teach them longevity rather than fame."

Gossips are on wedding watch for CARRIE UNDERWOOD after the country star staged her bachelorette party in Las Vegas at the weekend (25Jun10) - jus t days after fiance MIKE FISHER waved goodbye to the single life with his own pre-nuptials bash.
The 27-year-old Before He Cheats singer and a group of girlfriends hit club LAVO for a celebration on Friday, during which Underwood donned a ‘B ride-to-Be’ sash, according to reports.
The singer and her husband-to-be have yet to name the date or announced wedding plans but sources insist the couple is hoping to wed this summer (10).
Last week (ends25Jun10), Life & Style magazine reported Underwood and F isher will wed in July (10) and honeymoon in Tahiti and Bora Bora.

RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE frontman ZACK DE LA ROCHA is planning a series o f concerts to protest Arizona’s controversial state immigration laws.
The outspoken rocker is spearheading the Sound Strike campaign aimed at prompting touring acts to boycott Arizona until state officials agree to repeal the new law, which requires local authorities to determine a pers on’s immigration status if he or she is suspected of being undocumented.
And now he’s planning a series of protest concerts in July (10).
He tells Billboard.com, "In the coming weeks we are going to be organis ing a series of concerts that are respectful of the nature of the boycott in its attempts to isolate the Arizona government but not isolate the pe ople, and especially the organisations that are fighting this on the grou nd.
"Many of us have begun to plan concerts that include bands that have si gned on the Sound Strike, and make tickets available so that people withi n Arizona can come and see these concerts as they roll out." And De La Rocha says there’s "a strong chance" Rage Against the Machine will play one or more of the concerts.
The acts who have signed up for the Sound Strike initiative - and thus boycott Arizona venues - include Ry Cooder, Maroon 5, My Morning Jacket, Ben Harper and Pitbull.

SLIPKNOT have yet to decide whether or not to continue as a band followin g the death of bandmate PAUL GRAY - because recording and performing agai n without the bassist is almost unthinkable.
The heavy rocker, 38, was found dead in a suburban Des Moines, Iowa hot el on 24 May (10). Toxicology and final autopsy reports have revealed Gra y died from an accidental overdose.
His Slipknot bandmates have been left devastated by the tragedy and gui tarist Jim Root insists the group needs time to grieve before even contem plating continuing to make music together.
He says, "There’s going to be a big healing process that needs to happe n before we even think about whether or not Slipknot will continue. And r ight now that’s the furthest thing from our mind.
"Right now we are just grieving or trying to find time to grieve anyway for the fact that our bro’s gone. It’s weird because some days I don’t e ven think it’s real, so that one’s not going to make sense for a while." Root adds it will be "probably two years at least" before the band regr oups.

Speaking to TV news show Extra, Jackson said, "He’s a human being like all others, we all make mistakes. What he did was wrong. I love Rihanna..
.. I’m one of his biggest fans… We can’t condemn him because of what hap pened. We hope he learns from this." And Jackson admits he was greatly moved by Brown’s tribute to his late sibling: "It was very emotional for me… It was just a spectacular momen t.

The actor was greeting a long line of fans and was left speechless when one girl showed off impressive skin art on her forearm: a giant Wolf Pac k tattoo in honour of his werewolf character in the vampire franchise.
Lautner agreed to write on her skin but was shocked to learn she’d had the autograph tattooed on to her the day after.
He explains, "That’s dedication. She’s like, ‘Can you sign it right her e?’ and I was like, ‘OK… I’ll make sure to do my best signature.
"And (co-star) Kristen (Stewart) predicted it that night. She was like, ‘I bet that fan’s gonna tattoo your signature on her arm.’ And I was lik e, ‘Nooo!’ "Sure enough, the next day (she did)."

AN EDUCATION star ALFRED MOLINA’s final week on Broadway in hit play RED has shattered box office records at the Golden Theatre.
The production, which picked up the lion’s share of prizes at the recen t Tony Awards, broke the house record last week with a $724,156 (=C2=A348 2,770) gross for eight performances.
The record was previously set by Avenue Q at the end of 2006.
RED, which was named Best Play at the Tony Awards, recouped its $2.25 m illion (=C2=A31.5 million) production costs the week before (ends20Jun10) .. The play opened to critical acclaim in March (10).

Actress DARYL HANNAH is urging U.S. President BARACK OBAMA to go green an d install solar panels on the roof of the White House.
The vegetarian Splash star has been a keen green activist for years, ru nning her home on solar power and driving a car that runs on biodiesel.
And she’s encouraging Obama to make changes to his residence in Washing ton D.C. after former American leader Ronald Reagan tore down the propert y’s solar panels in the 1980s.
Hannah tells Britain’s You magazine, "I=E2=80=99m pleased about the org anic vegetable patch on the White House lawn, but Obama needs to put back the solar panels on the roof; Jimmy Carter put them up, Reagan took them down, and now it=E2=80=99s time they were reinstated.

The summer pop anthem currently holds the top spot in charts around the globe, including the U.S. and U.K., and now she’s smashing radio chart r ecords in America.
According to Billboard.com, Perry logged 11,816 plays among the survey’ s 132 panelists for the week ending 27 June (10) - that’s an average of 9 0 plays per station.
That passes Ke$ha’s 11,224 plays of TiK ToK in February (10). Lady GaGa is third on the radio play record list with 10,859 weekly plays for Bad Romance earlier this year (10).

MICHAEL JACKSON’s father has dropped his legal petition to receive a mont hly allowance from his late son’s estate.
Joe Jackson filed a claim for a monthly stipend of over $15,000 (=C2=A3 10,000) last November (09), claiming he had relied on the King of Pop’s h elp to survive - because he had little income of his own.
In the legal documents, Joe Jackson stated he needed the cash to cover "maintenance expenses" and to "support his children or grandchildren".
His claim was opposed by the Thriller star’s estate, with executors Joh n Branca and John McClain filing papers opposing the move.
The case was due to be heard in Los Angeles Superior Court but Joe appe ars to have had a change of heart and his lawyers have now withdrawn the claim for an estate allowance, reports TMZ.com.
Since the pop superstar’s death a year ago (Jun09), Joe Jackson has lau nched his own music label, Ranch Records, with Chi-Lites star Marshall Th ompson.

Rock legend ERIC CLAPTON delighted fans at his Crossroads Guitar Festival in Chicago, Illinois on Saturday (26Jun10) by declaring the 2010 event w ould not be the last.
The guitarist had previously announced Chicago’s star-studded line-up, featuring Jeff Beck, B.B. King, Ronnie Wood and ZZ Top, would be the last of his benefit gigs to raise money for his Crossroads rehabilitation fac ility in Antigua. Two previous concerts were held in 2004 and 2007.
But, after taking to the stage for a finale performance of Rock Me Baby with King, Robert Cray and Jimmy Vaughn, Clapton announced he had had a change of heart about continuing the festival.
He told the crowd, "I know I said this would be the last one. But I don ‘t think it will be." The 2010 Crossroads Guitar Festival, which was hosted by actor Bill Mur ray, also featured sets by John Mayer and Sheryl Crow.

AEROSMITH frontman STEVEN TYLER is set to open up about the heated feuds with his bandmates, which prompted him to briefly quit the group last yea r (09), in a new book.
The Dude Looks Like A Lady singer admits tension reached a high after h e fell off a stage during a South Dakota concert last summer (09). The in cident left him with multiple injuries and forced the band to cancel a No rth American tour with ZZ top.
While he was recuperating, Tyler announced his plans to take a two-year hiatus, and then abruptly quit the group.
Guitarist Joe Perry confirmed Tyler’s decision to quit, while reports s uggested the band was on a search on replace the lead singer for 2010 and 2011 commitments.
Tyler has since mended his relationship with his bandmates and the grou p is back together and touring the globe, and now he’s keen to reveal all about his tumultuous relationship with his Aerosmith buddies.
He tells the Associated Press, "I’m doing a book called Does the Noise in My Head Bother You, and I will be speaking about what it’s like to be married to four other guys, and what I’ve had to put up with.
"There will never be another band like Aerosmith, and I just don’t want to do anything to hurt that. I love the band so much." Does the Noise in My Head Bother You is set to hit shelves in October ( 10).
