OLYMPIAN HAMILTON RECOVERING FROM BRAIN SURGERY
Olympic-winning American ice skater SCOTT HAMILTON is recovering and "doi ng great" after undergoing brain surgery to remove a benign tumour.
The sportsman-turned-TV personality went under the knife at a hospital in Boston, Massachusetts on 23 June (10), to remove a growth near his pit uitary gland.
Doctors first detected the mass in 2004, seven years after Hamilton was treated for testicular cancer.
The 51 year old will remain in the intensive care unit for a few more d ays but he is expected to return home next week (ends04Jul10).
Hamilton’s representative tells People.com the athlete is "resting comf ortably in the hospital" with his wife, Tracie.
Doctors predict Hamilton will make a full recovery.
