BLUR GAVE FAVOURITE GLASTONBURY PERFORMANCE

BLUR’s performance at last year’s (09) Glastonbury music festival has bee n named the best show in the event’s 40-year history by fans.
The group returned to the music scene after a six-year hiatus to headli ne the 2009 summer festival, and the performance has beaten sets by David Bowie and Coldplay to land the top spot in a new BBC poll.
Radiohead’s Glastonbury spots in 1997 and 2003 were second and third re spectively, while Pulp’s iconic 1995 performance came in fourth and Bowie ’s turn of the century set in 2000 was fifth.
Coldplay’s 2000 show, R.E.M.’s gig in 2003 and The Cure’s headline slot in 1990 also made the top 10.
Blur frontman Damon Albarn will be back at the festival this weekend (2 5Jun10) for a headlining set with Gorillaz.
