SCHNEIDER PROMISES TO SETTLE TAX DEBT
THE DUKES OF HAZZARD star JOHN SCHNEIDER has agreed to pay off a tax debt in its entirety after falling behind on payments.
The actor, who played Bo Duke in the 1980s TV series, and his wife were recently hit with a demand from California officials for more than $28,0 00 (=C2=A318,700) in delinquent taxes. The lien was filed against the cou ple in Los Angeles in May (10).
Schneider has blamed the tax troubles on a former accountant and promis ed to settle the debt.
He tells the Detroit News, "This is actually something that fell throug h the cracks when our old bookkeeper left us high and dry. I spoke to our tax guy this morning and plan to write a check to pay the tax debt in it s entirety this week."
