FANS, FAMILY AND BANDMATES TURN OUT FOR CABLE’S FUNERAL

Hundreds of fans flocked to a small town in Wales on Monday (21Jun10) to pay their respects to late STEREOPHONICS rocker STUART CABLE ahead of his funeral.
The drummer was found dead at his home in Llwydcoed, Wales on 7 June (1 0), just weeks after celebrating his 40th birthday. His cause of death is still unknown.
Cable’s family and friends, including his former Stereophonics bandmate s, attended a memorial service for the musician in his hometown of Aberda re, south Wales on Monday afternoon (21Jun10).
Crowds of fans lined the route of the funeral procession to pay their l ast respects to the late star and police closed roads around the area as the horse-drawn carriage made its way to the local church for the private service.
Gary Marsh, acting spokesman for the Cable family, read a statement out side the church, thanking fans for their support.
He said, "We wish to convey our sincere thanks to everyone for their ki nd words and messages of sympathy during the past three weeks.
Stereophonics singer Kelly Jones added, "We also ask that our wishes be respected today of all days and we be left alone to say goodbye to a fat her, son and brother who we loved very much."
