Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:30 pm

British R&B star JAMELIA has called for more "stringent checks" for paren ts who homeschool their kids in the U.K., admitting she has never been mo nitored by education authorities.
In 2008, the singer decided to remove her eldest daughter Teja, now nin e, from the British school system so she could personally tutor the young ster at home.
She now gives lessons to her youngest daughter, four-year-old Tiana, as well - but reveals officials have never dropped in to check up on the gi rls’ progress.
She tells Britain’s Hello! magazine, "I had to tell the school I was ta king Teja out of mainstream eduction and they informed the local authorit y, but there has been no monitoring. That surprised and slightly worried me. I’d prefer more stringent checks as it could easily be abused." But Jamelia is convinced homeschooling is the best option for her famil y, especially in light of her divorce from soccer star Darren Byfield las t year (09).
She adds, "Sending them to school while I was going through my recent d ivorce would have been terrible for them, especially with me being in the public eye. I’ve been able to protect them, as they have me… Being at such close quarters with them, they’re coming to terms with it (the divor ce) much better than they would otherwise have done."

DIZZEE RASCAL SHUNS BLING

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:30 pm

British rapper DIZZEE RASCAL isn’t interested in flashy jewellery - he’s baffled by hip-hop stars who spend fortunes on bling.
The Bonkers hitmaker refuses to sport the elaborate jewels his rap cont emporaries favour, and can’t understand why stars wear such expensive acc essories that they have to hire security to ensure they don’t get robbed.
He tells Britain’s Heat magazine, "I’m not as into that as most people would expect from a rapper. I haven’t got a 20 grand (thousand) chain han ging around my neck…. (My) chain probably cost a couple of grand and I bought it seven years ago. Wearing 20 grand round your neck is kind of as king to be (robbed).
"Some rappers have 60 or 70 grand chains and then have to hire security to follow them round. What’s that for anyway? "I’m not about to try and sell a lifestyle to people. My music is about a lot of the good fun stuff that everyone can embrace."
