The spokesperson tells New York Post’s gossip column PageSix, "She wasn ‘t able to go to Cannes due to her commitment to performing eight shows a week." Zeta-Jones is hoping to return to the stage to resume her role on Thurs day (20May10).

The producers of U.S. TV news show NIGHTLINE have landed the first interv iew with reality TV star JESSE JAMES since news of his infidelities rocke d his marriage to SANDRA BULLOCK in March (10).

MILEY CYRUS’ jewellery line has been pulled from shelves at U.S. supersto re Walmart after a report revealed the accessories contained high levels of a toxic metal.
The Hannah Montana star’s exclusive range for the store has proved popu lar with kids, but a test performed for the Associated Press reveals seve ral items from the line have an unsafe level of cadmium, which can be dan gerous if ingested.
Although the jewellery pieces are safe to wear, the report notes that i f they are "sucked, bitten or swallowed" the cadmium could prove toxic.
And now bosses at Walmart have decided to pull the line, which includes bracelets and necklaces, insisting they will not sell the jewellery "whi le we investigate its compliance with our children’s jewelry standard". (

BOB DYLAN’s 1965 hit LIKE A ROLLING STONE has topped a new list of the Gr eatest Songs of All Time.
Rolling Stone magazine editors and contributors have spent months pieci ng together the ultimate top 500 list and Dylan’s Highway 61 Revisited tr ack has beaten out The Rolling Stones’ (I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction to t he number one spot.
John Lennon’s Imagine comes in at three, while What’s Going On by Marvi n Gaye and Aretha Franklin’s 1967 anthem Respect round out the top five.
Also making the top 10 are Good Vibrations by The Beach Boys, Chuck Ber ry’s Johnny B. Goode, The Beatles’ Hey Jude and Smells Like Teen Spirit b y Nirvana.
The 1960s were the best decade for hits, with 195 tunes making the top 500; the 1970s came in second with 131 entries. The best year was 1965.
The Beatles and The Rolling Stones lead the artists of the poll - the F ab Four have 23 entries on the list; the Stones have 14. Bob Dylan comes in third with 13 and Elvis is the only other artist with double figures, with 11.

LIL WAYNE has no regrets about storing prison "contraband", including iPo d earphones and a charger, in his jail cell - even though the decision co uld cost him extra time behind bars.
The hip-hop star is serving a year-long sentence at New York’s Rikers I sland prison after pleading guilty to gun possession charges.

Former POWDER star PEARL LOWE has miscarried the baby she was expecting w ith rocker husband DANNY GOFFEY.
The singer-turned-fashion designer, 40, announced earlier this year (10 ) she was expecting her fifth child.
But Supergrass drummer Goffey has revealed the sad news that Lowe is no longer carrying the baby.
A statement from Lowe’s rep reads, ‘’Danny Goffey has announced today t hat his wife Pearl Lowe has suffered a miscarriage.
‘’The couple have asked to respect their privacy at this difficult time ..'’ The couple already has three children - Alfie, Frankie and Betty - and Lowe also has a 21-year-old daughter, model Daisy Lowe, with rocker Gavin Rossdale.

Rockers METALLICA paid tribute to late heavy metal legend RONNIE JAMES DI O during a concert in Lisbon, Portugal on Tuesday (18May10) by playing on e of his classic BLACK SABBATH songs.
The stage at the Pavilhao Atlantico was plunged into darkness as the ba nd played the intro to Black Sabbath’s Children Of The Sea.
They then dedicated their track Fade To Black to the late star, much to the delight of the crowd.

Gay actor JONATHAN GROFF has thanked his fans and peers for their loyalty following a Newsweek article which slammed him for playing straight role s, insisting he is "totally blown away" by their support.
The Glee star was branded a "theater queen" by popular columnist Ramin Setoodeh in a recent copy of the publication, with the writer also target ing Broadway actor Sean Hayes in the piece.
A string of celebrities, including Kristin Chenoweth, Glee creator Ryan Murphy and Milk screenwriter Dustin Lance Black, spoke out to defend Gro ff and Hayes, slamming editors of Newsweek for allowing the article to be published.

British actress RACHEL WEISZ felt incredibly "vulnerable" filming a stoni ng scene naked in her new movie AGORA and admits her feelings about barin g all on set helped her channel the terror of her character.
The Mummy star agreed to disrobe for the unsettling scene but had no id ea she’d be overwhelmed by emotions when it was time to shoot.
She says, "When you do nude scenes, there’s a closed set and usually yo u just do it. It’s slightly strange being naked in front of a crew, but y ou get on with it.
"But this was much weirder. The stoning scene is a very emotional and d ramatic and tragic scene, but I was also naked and that made me feel incr edibly vulnerable, so it was a powerful tool for me as an actor.
"I think we all feel pretty vulnerable naked in front of strangers so I kind of used it."

Moviemaker and actor ELI ROTH is still suffering from his near-death expe rience over the New Year when he was stung by deadly sea urchins - the st ar underwent surgery on Wednesday (19May10) to remove one of the creature ’s spikes.
The Inglourious Basterds star was holidaying in Mexico when a kayaking adventure went wrong and he was pulled towards a sink hole.
Roth managed to swim to a rock, only to find it was covered with poison ous urchins and he was stung 200 times.
And now, months after the horrendous attack, Roth is still undergoing t reatment for his injuries.
In a post on his personal Twitter.com page, he writes, "Surgery today f or final sea urchin pin. If I die, know that my only true regret in life was sitting through America’s Sweethearts." His girlfriend Peaches Geldof admits she was horrified when she saw the object that doctor’s removed from her beau’s foot.
She tweeted, "Just saw the sea urchin spike that came out of @eliroth’s foot. Its about the size of a small elephant. Mildly disturbed to say th e least." But Roth confirms the procedure was a success, adding: "I’m alive! Than ks to everyone @ UCLA Orthopedic, and to peaches_g for being an amazing n urse. The pin was HUGE and not at all dissolved."

MEGAN FOX’s spokesperson has moved swiftly to dismiss rumours the actress was dropped from the third TRANSFORMERS movie after publicly criticising moviemaker MICHAEL BAY - insisting it was the star’s decision to leave t he franchise.
