LADY GAGA has taken aim at her "lazy" pop star contemporaries who release albums every other year, insisting she is busy writing new songs daily.
The Just Dance singer has called out her peers, claiming top acts owe i t to their fans to perform concerts around the world, while simultaneousl y working on new material.
And she blames "lazy" artists for not taking advantage of the profits t o be made from touring.
She tells The Times newspaper, "You know how much you can earn off tour ing, right? Big artists can make anywhere from $40 million for one cycle of two years’ touring. Giant artists make upwards of $100 million. Make m usic - then tour. It’s just the way it is today.
"I hate big acts that just throw an album out against the wall, like, ‘ Buy it! F**k you!’ It’s mean to fans. You should go out and tour it to yo ur fans in India, Japan, the U.K. I don’t believe in how the music indust ry is today. I believe in how it was in 1982.
"I don’t understand bands who say they’ll tour for one year, then recor d the next. I make music every day!" But Gaga’s work-heavy schedule has taken it’s toll on the singer - she recently confessed to passing out three times during her a concert in New Zealand last month (Mar10), and prompted concerns among her most famous fans.
Janet Jackson has reached out and said, "She works so hard and I told h er I think she needs to slow down just a little bit, take some time out f or herself." And OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder warned his pop pal to "be careful" not to burn herself out.
GaGa blamed the health hiccup on a lack of sleep, saying, "I was so jet lagged, I got in the night before and the jetlag just really caught up wi th me. I passed out about three times on stage that night but I got mysel f to the floor.
"I’d rather die on stage than walk off the stage because I was going to pass out… It’s never happened to me before, I was just really tired."
