Filipino singing sensation CHARICE has dismissed reports she’s joining th e cast of GLEE - but she’d love to be considered for a role on the hit sh ow.
The teenager, who was discovered by media mogul Oprah Winfrey, was said to have been offered a regular part on the upcoming second season of the musical series.
But the 18 year old has denied the rumours, taking to her Twitter.com p age to tell fans, "No. I’m not going to be on Glee. How I wish… Maybe m y handler (agent) is confused." The Rolling Stones frontman has accounts on both Facebook and Twitter.c om, but his hectic schedule means he never gets the chance to tell fans h is latest news.
So he’s employed an aide to keep the blogs up to date - admitting he "c an’t be bothered" to do it himself.
Jagger tells Britain’s GMG Radio, "One of the problems is there’s so ma ny access points to being online that if you don’t watch out you’re never going to have any time to do anything else. There’s so many gadgets and so many networking sites and there’s so much you can do.

JEAN RECEIVES DOCTORATE

Hip-hop star WYCLEF JEAN has been awarded an honorary doctorate from a U.
S. university in recognition of his ongoing charity work in Haiti.
The former Fugees star has been helping rebuild his homeland with his Y ele Haiti organisation following the devastating January (10) earthquake, which left an estimated 1.3 million people homeless.
And his humanitarian work was acknowledged on Sunday (23May10) when off icials at Western Connecticut State University presented Jean with an hon orary doctorate.
Jean appeared onstage to accept his diploma and deliver a commencement speech to graduates, stressing the importance of believing in dreams.
He said, "Believe it or not, I used to ride a donkey to school in Haiti .. I lived in a one-room shack. When I came to America, I didn’t speak a w ord of English. Today I am able to travel the world, reach people with my music, work on behalf of my native Haiti and even speak at a college com mencement. I am proof that anything you want is possible, if you can only envision it first." University officials also presented him with a $9,500 (=C2=A36,300) che que to benefit his charity.

Teen icon JUSTIN BIEBER caused offence on the set of an Australian chat s how during a recent trip Down Under - he swore at a production crew membe r who touched him.
The Baby hitmaker, who is just 16 years old, stunned staff at Sydney-ba sed morning TV show Sunrise last month (Apr10) when he cursed at a floor manager who led him him to the performance stage.
Sunrise host David Coch tells Aussie radio station Mix FM, "We had him on and he was a thoroughly nice bloke, really decent guy.
"Our floor manager was directing him to where he was about to perform a nd he turned around to (floor manager) Nick and said, ‘Don’t ever f**king touch me again’. Nick went ‘What?’ "And then (Bieber’s) sound guy said, ‘Don’t take offence mate he tells us that all the time.’ So I was a little disappointed in that… I though t maybe someone needs to drag you aside and give you a bit of a slap." It’s not the first time Bieber’s high-maintenance ways have come under scrutiny - he allegedly stormed out of an interview during Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Wales at the weekend (22/23May10) when a journalist asked abou t his tattoo.

STARS LINE UP TO JOIN FACES REUNION

The hotly-anticipated reunion of legendary 1970s band THE FACES is set to be a star-studded affair - SLASH, NOEL GALLAGHER, and CHRIS ROBINSON wan t to join the group onstage.
Guitarist Ronnie Wood announced this week (beg24May10) that former Simp ly Red frontman Mick Hucknall has agreed to step in to take Rod Stewart’s place and join Wood, Kenney Jones and Ian McLagan to reunite the band fo r a gig in the U.K. in August (10).
The reformed Stay With Me hitmakers then plan to head out on a world to ur early next year (11) - and they are set to thrill fans by bringing in other famous rockers to perform with them.

MICHAELS DIDN’T TELL DOCTORS ABOUT IDOL GIG

BRET MICHAELS stunned his doctors by performing on AMERICAN IDOL on Wedne sday night (26May10) - the recovering rocker refused to ask their permiss ion before appearing at the live finale.
The Poison star’s health has been flagging in the last two months - he has suffered an emergency appendectomy, a stroke and a near-fatal brain h aemorrhage. Last week (ends21May10) he was diagnosed with a hole in his h eart.
But Michaels bravely took the stage at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on Wednesday, where he performed a duet with one of the Idol contestants ..
Speaking before the show, he told UsMagazine.com, "The doctors, I didn’ t tell them I was going to do this. I never told them I was coming here. They’re going to find out in a few minutes! I may not have told (my famil y) either.
"Here’s the thing, they have not said everything’s OK. I’m running abou t 75 per cent realistically, physically, but in my soul and my heart, I f eel great. I needed to do this tonight, just to come here.
"To be honest, there’s still obviously a lot of pain I’m still experien cing… (but) I feel great.
"It’s my first musical performance back (in the spotlight) and after th is, I’m hoping to go out on the road, and I’m really looking forward to i t. Later on, I may collapse, but right now, I feel great." Michaels received a standing ovation for his rendition of Poison’s Ever y Rose Has Its Thorn.

TWILIGHT BOSSES USE SOUNDTRACK TO HELP NEW BANDS

Music experts working on the TWILIGHT movies make a deliberate effort to include new bands in the soundtracks - because the vampire franchise can give upcoming artists their big break.
Music supervisors Paul Katz and Alexandra Patsavas have spoken out abou t their role in choosing songs to be featured in the successful films, wh ich star Robert Pattinson, revealing they try to balance music from estab lished names with lesser-known acts.
And Katz admits they aim to give new artists the chance to introduce th eir music to cinema-goers.
He tells NME.com, "It’s about the best piece of music for the scene. Bu t we do like the role of introducing new acts. We have Eastern Conference Champions (on the soundtrack to the third film), who we’ll be introducin g." Patsavas adds, "We have forward-thinking directors and they have a prog ressive music taste. It’s completely natural." The soundtrack to the next film, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, features b ands including Muse, The Dead Weather and Vampire Weekend, as well as Fan farlo and Eastern Conference Champions.

SCREENWRITER REBACK DIES

Screenwriter KATHERINE REBACK has died at the age of 59.
Reback passed away on Monday (24May10) after a battle with cancer.
She began her career working for American comedian Alan King in the 197 0s and went on to write for a number of television shows including One Da y at a Time and The Line.
Reback wrote a production draft for hit 1983 film Flashdance and produc ed the screenplay for 1997’s Fools Rush In, starring Matthew Perry and Sa lma Hayek. She is said to have been working on a project for Fox TV Studi os shortly before her death, according to Variety.com.
Reback is survived by her husband , Sonny King, and three stepchildren.

DRUGSTORE COWBOY AUTHOR ARRESTED

The author who wrote DRUGSTORE COWBOY is back behind bars after he was ar rested on suspicion of robbing a pharmacy in Washington.
James Fogle wrote the novel, about four marauding drug addicts who trav el America looting narcotics from pharmacies, while he was in prison and based it loosely on his own experiences.
It was later used as the basis for Gus Van Sant’s 1989 film of the same name starring Matt Dillon and Kelly Lynch.
The 73 year old, who has spent much of his adult life in jail, was arre sted on Tuesday night (25May10) along with another man, 45-year-old Shann on Benn, on suspicion of carrying out a raid on a pharmacy in Redmond, Wa shington.
Both men have been booked on suspicion of first-degree robbery and are scheduled to appear in King County Superior Court on Thursday (27May10).
Jim Bove, a spokesman for the Redmond Police Department, tells the Seat tle Times, "He’s 73 years old and this is probably the only thing he know s."

REDGRAVE THANKS FANS FOR SUPPORT

VANESSA REDGRAVE has thanked fans for supporting her through her recent f amily tragedies, insisting "the letters and prayers from strangers" have helped her cope with her grief.
The British actress was rocked by the death of her daughter, Natasha Ri chardson, last year (09) after a skiing accident, and the sad loss was co mpounded by the death of her brother Corin, who passed away in April (10) , and her sister Lynn, who lost her battle with breast cancer earlier thi s month (May10).
Redgrave has been trying to stay positive and remember all the happy ti mes with her loved ones, and admits the outpouring of love from friends a nd fans has helped her enormously.
She tells People magazine, "I treasure every single moment I spent with them. I miss them so much. I glory in what all three gave me, and gave t o so very many others as well. All three were devoted to their families a nd gave us, each and every one, from the youngest to the oldest, very hap py times, and much to be merry about.
"(I have taken comfort in ) the letters and prayers of friends and from strangers."

MOSSHART HATES SUNSHINE GIGS

THE DEAD WEATHER star ALISON MOSSHART dreads the summer festival season - because she hates playing gigs in the sun.
The rocker, who also fronts The Kills, insists she much prefers playing concerts in dark nightclubs and struggles to cope with performing on an outdoor stage.

COWELL’S FIANCEE TO WRITE TELL-ALL BOOK

SIMON COWELL’s fiancee is set to tell all about the music mogul and their romance in a new autobiography, according to a U.K. report.
Mezhgan Hussainy is putting pen to paper to write her life story, which will detail her childhood in Afghanistan as well as her family’s escape from the country.
The 36 year old will also tell of her experiences as a make-up artist o n American Idol, where she met future husband Cowell.
And reports suggest Hussainy is prepared to divulge plenty of personal information about the notoriously private businessman.
A source tells Britain’s Daily Express, "Mezhgan really is an amazing w oman. She went through so much as a child but she remains full of optimis m and positivity.
"She wants to get her story out in her own words to give hope to others .. She’s writing a book about her life and it’s such a rollercoaster. And Simon is such a big part of her life that he will definitely get a mentio n. Simon is very private when it comes to his personal life so he might b e hovering over the laptop when Mezhgan writes her final chapters." The couple became engaged after record producer Cowell proposed earlier this year (10).

IMBRUGLIA IS NEW AUSSIE X FACTOR JUDGE

RASCAL WAS READY FOR U2′S GLASTONBURY SLOT

British rapper DIZZEE RASCAL is convinced he could have taken over from U 2 as the headlining act at legendary U.K. music festival Glastonbury, aft er the band was forced to pull out following BONO’s back surgery.
The Irish rockers were named as the leading act at the festival’s 40th anniversary in June (10), but an emergency operation on Bono’s back on Fr iday (21May10) meant the band had to scrap all its upcoming gigs - leavin g the music event without a main headliner.
Damon Albarn’s band Gorillaz was swiftly booked to take over the presti gious slot, but Rascal, who is playing lower on the bill at the festival, had hoped he would be given the honour.
He tells Britain’s The Sun, "I hope Bono pulls through quickly so he ca n deliver again. U2 are legends, but I believe I could have pulled it off ..
"I supported Red Hot Chilli Peppers throughout Europe, so I know about entertaining a rock crowd. I know the music I’ve got works with the masse s and works loud. That’s 90 per cent of it.
"My fitness and performance is there too. I like to give as much as I c an. I want to jump around like a nutter (lunatic) and get people going. I want people to remember my show when they are old."
