M.I.A. WORRIED ABOUT THE VIOLENCE HER SON WILL SEE
Hitmaker M.I.A. worries for her son’s generation because the world’s youn gsters are fixated on videogame violence and the end of the world.
The hip-hop star became a first-time mum to Ikhyd last year (09) and sh e can’t stop fretting about the images he’s going to witness as he grows up.
M.I.A. tells Complex magazine, "There’s a whole generation of American kids seeing violence on their computer screens and then getting shipped o ff to Afghanistan.
"They feel like they know the violence when they don’t. Not having a pr oper understanding of violence, especially what it’s like on the receivin g end of it, just makes you interpret it wrong and makes inflicting viole nce easier.
"When I put on the History Channel or Discovery Channel in America ther e’s this insane fascination with the end of the world… Everyone’s so ob sessed with Armageddon, the dates they’re talking about is Ikhyd’s genera tion.
