JONAS DUMPED LOVATO TO FOCUS ON FRIENDSHIP
JOE JONAS chose to end his romance with DEMI LOVATO in order to maintain their close friendship.
The 20-year-old Jonas Brother split from the teen sensation earlier thi s month (May10), just weeks after the pair went public with their relatio nship.
And now Jonas has opened up about the split - admitting it was his deci sion to end the union to focus on being friends.
He tells People, "Demi and I knew going into our romantic relationship that it may not be an easy one. I realise over the time we have shared to gether that I feel I care more about our friendship right now.
"It was my choice to break up but I love her as a friend. She’s been th ere for me when I needed her. I will continue to be her friend and be the re for her." Meanwhile, Lovato has spoken out over claims Jonas dumped her over the telephone.
In a post on her Twitter.com page, she writes, "There are so many crazy rumours flying around today. I’d like to clear a few things up. First, J oe and I did split but it wasn’t over the phone. Things didn’t work out b ut we’ll remain friends. Secondly, I am NOT dating anybody already. Nothi ng is more important to me than the relationship I have with my fans. Jus t thought you guys should know this." Both singers are due to start their joint tour on 27 July (10) in Dalla s, Texas.
