BONO URGED KEYS TO USE FAME FOR GOOD

ALICIA KEYS was inspired to launch her own charity after U2 frontman BONO urged the singer to put her fame to good use.
The Fallin’ hitmaker is a prominent campaigner against the spread of AI DS in Africa and has launched her own charity, Keep a Child Alive.
And the musician reveals it was Irish superstar Bono’s advice that prom pted her passion for philanthropy - he told her that fame is a "currency" which needs to be spent well.
She tells Britain’s Daily Mail, "(Fame’s) a currency - you must use it well or lose it. Bono told me that, and I totally agree. Now I’ve achieve d a certain level of fame I know I must make good use of it, especially a s I’ve been around the world and know suffering in a way I didn’t before.
"That’s why I launched my charity Keep A Child Alive. I was so moved to meet people in Africa who have so little and yet are so generous, people who’ve been to hell and back but retain their dignity and are fighting f or their dreams. The charity gives people the chance to chase those dream s." Bono also heads four non-profit organisations which help raise funds to provide aid for impoverished families in African countries.
