THE BIG PINK’S FURZE OPENS UP ABOUT FAN PUNCH
THE BIG PINK rocker ROBBIE FURZE has spoken out to explain why he punched a fan in the face during a concert in America last month (Apr10) - he wa s fed up with the man’s heckling.
The musician was performing at the Masquerade venue in Atlanta, Georgia on 03 April (10) when he asked a fan to come onstage after disrupting th e show with his comments.
Furze then punched the man so hard he fell off the stage into the audie nce.
Now the singer has opened up about the clash, insisting video footage o f the punch makes it look worse than it was - but he doesn’t regret hitti ng the heckler.
Speaking in an online video with NME magazine, Furze says, "I’ve never hit anybody in my life. This guy was just ruining it for everyone. It act ually looks like I hit him harder than I did. I said to him to come onsta ge and say what he was saying to me from the crowd, and then when he was coming round to the stage I just thought I didn’t really have a chance. W hat else was I gonna do? I wasn’t going to have a chat with him.
"So I thought well it was either my fist or my guitar, and I thought ‘W ell I don’t wanna damage my guitar’."
