MCCARTNEY WRITES BY INSTINCT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:36 pm

BEATLES legend SIR PAUL McCARTNEY has relied on "instinct" to write every one of his songs, insisting there’s no formula behind his hundreds of hi t tracks.
McCartney is always amused when music scholars try to break down the tr acks he composed with late partner John Lennon and his solo efforts, beca use he has no idea where they came from.
The singer-songwriter says, "I=E2=80=99m still intoxicated by the fact I can do it. If I were to try and answer how I do it, I couldn=E2=80=99t.
"I saw a guy on TV dissecting Penny Lane. He said, =E2=80=98McCartney s tarts off in this key and then he modulates down to sing higher=E2=80=99.
I=E2=80=99m going, =E2=80=98Did I? Brilliant, well done, lad!=E2=80=99 I t=E2=80=99s all instinct. I just sort of do it." McCartney is still writing new material at the age of 67 and admits he’ s driven to carry on by his insatiable desire to try and better himself, adding, "Most artists I know feel like they have something to prove. That =E2=80=99s what keeps you going, that sense you can do it better. I mean, I remember not really liking the vocal on Eleanor Rigby, thinking I hadn =E2=80=99t nailed it.
"I listen to it now =E2=80=93 and it=E2=80=99s very good. It=E2=80=99s a bit annoying when you do Eleanor Rigby and you=E2=80=99re not happy wit h it."

"When you got your blockbuster film doing $120 million in a weekend, an d then (another) blockbuster film that they spent $120 million (on) comes out and nobody goes to see (it) but everybody watched it because they co uld pull it off their computer and see it on HD at home on a theatre - th ey’ll change those laws."
