Scottish singing sensation SUSAN BOYLE is set to tell her life story - sh e has signed a deal to write her autobiography.
The I Dreamed A Dream hitmaker shot to international stardom on Simon C owell’s TV talent show Britain’s Got Talent last year (09), and after a w hirlwind 12 months which has seen her top album charts all over the world , the 49 year old wants to lift the lid on her life.
She has teamed up with publishers Transworld to detail her background, and plans to pay tribute to her late mother who she cared for until her d eath in 2007, at the age of 91.
She says, "When I strutted on to the stage for that audition, I was a s cared wee lassie (little lady), still grieving for my mother, not caring how I looked. I think I’ve grown up a lot in the last year, become more o f a lady, and I’m not so frightened anymore.
"I’m writing this book to try to show that you shouldn’t judge a book b y its cover and I hope it will benefit other people. My story demonstrate s that you shouldn’t just look at the label, you should look at the whole person, emotionally, physically, mentally and spiritually.
"I hope that telling it will show that dreams are not impossible, if yo u’ve got courage and a willingness to go on no matter what the circumstan ces." The new tome, The Woman I Was Born To Be, will hit stores in the autumn (10).

British singer DANE BOWERS was arrested on suspicion of assault following an alleged fight during a night out.
The former Another Level star was partying at Mayhem club in Essex, Eng land on Saturday night (17Apr10) but the evening turned violent when a fi ght broke out in the early hours, resulting in two 22-year-old men being taken to hospital.
One of the alleged victims, Steve Norris, insists it was Bowers who ins tigated the altercation and claims the star’s pal punched him in the eye, leaving him in need of stitches.
Norris tells Britain’s The Sun newspaper, "Dane’s friend came over and got in my friend’s face. He got Kalvin in a headlock and Dane came over a nd got in my face. He pushed me and I pushed him back. We ended up on the floor. Then the other guy punched me in the eye." Bowers and his unnamed pal were taken away by police to be questioned a nd were released on bail later on Sunday (18Apr10).
But a representative for Bowers insists the star is innocent and is con sidering launching his own legal battle against the two men.
The spokesperson says, "Dane and his friend were provoked into a fight.
Dane will consider bringing his own action for assault. It looks like a case of the perpetrator claiming assault having started a fight." Cops confirmed two men, aged 30 and 33, were arrested and released on p olice bail.
A police representative says, "They have both been released on bail unt il May 17."

PETE TOWNSHEND is urging fans to shun any THE WHO merchandise - because h e thinks the branded items look awful.
The band sells rock memorabilia on its official website, including T-sh irts, baseball caps and The Who-embossed jewellery.
But instead of encouraging fans to purchase the goods, Townshend has bl asted the products, insisting he’d never wear any of the items.
In an interview, also posted on the website, Townshend says, "We have b ecome older while a whole range of fashion looks have passed by. Socialite KIM KARDASHIAN is defending a controversial photograph of her h olding a kitten by the scruff of its neck - insisting a vet showed her ho w to correctly pick up the cat.
The reality TV star caused outrage on Twitter.com when she posted a pic ture in which she stands in a provocative pose while dangling the kitten in the air.
The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals L.A. slammed Karda shian for posting the image, insisting it could lead fans to mistreat ani mals.
A representative for the animal rights group tells TMZ.com, "It is perm issible to hold a kitten by his or her scruff for a brief amount of time.
(But) the manner in which Ms. Kardashian is holding the kitten could lea d others to mishandle animals." Kardashian has now defended the photo, claiming she didn’t injure the p et in any way.
Taking to her Twitter.com blog she writes, "Rest assured, the owner and vet were on set and showed me how to pick him up. The cat was not harmed in any way."

Actress JADA PINKETT SMITH had a big night at the American Red Cross of S anta Monica’s annual Red Tie Affair in California on Saturday (17Apr10) - she paid $5,750 (=C2=A33,590) for a surfing lesson and landed a life-siz ed $25,000 (=C2=A315,625) portrait for free.
The Matrix star joined husband Will Smith, Josh Duhamel and Fergie at t he charity auction at the Fairmont Miramar Hotel, and showed up keen to s pend a bundle of cash.
She and her husband drove the bidding for a surf lesson with profession als Warren Metcalf and Garrett McNamara and landed a day out at the beach in Malibu, California with the two boarders.
But the best was yet to come.
Persian businesswoman Simin Hashemizadeh, owner of the South Pacific Su rgery Centers, purchased an Anthony Noble portrait of the actress for $25 ,000 and then insisted Pinkett Smith took it home with her.
A spokesman for the event said, "Jada had wanted to buy it."

ANTONIO BANDERAS has confirmed there will be a SHREK spin-off movie which will follow his character PUSS IN BOOTS.
The Spanish actor voices the mischievous cat in the animated ogre franc hise and has already started working on a new film based on the role, alo ngside Salma Hayek and Zach Galifianakis.
Banderas, who reprises the role in the upcoming fourth and final Shrek film, Shrek Forever After, has revealed the upcoming project will be base d on Puss In Boots’ childhood.
He explains, "I already did the first recordings and it’s going to be c alled Puss In Boots - it starts when he was very little. He was in an orp hanage when he first discovered the effect he has on people - that’s when he starts being intelligent." And Banderas is delighted he doesn’t have to hang up his boots just yet - because he loves using his natural accent at work: "When I got to the United States - I was 30 at the time - I didn’t speak the language at all .. The fact they gave me a character for the use of my voice only was quit e surprising, but I suppose I have such an accent that is so recognisable that they thought it was perfect. Because I had been playing characters that were bigger than life, heroic, stuff like that, putting it into a ti ny body of a pussy cat was fun."

OPRAH WINFREY has slammed a new unauthorised tell-all book written about her life by gossip queen KITTY KELLEY - branding it a "so-called biograph y".
The TV titan’s life has come under scrutiny following revelations made in the tome by Kelley, including claims Winfrey used drugs and embellishe d stories about her poverty-stricken background.
Winfrey addressed the scandalous book, titled Oprah: A Biography, for t he first time during The New York Women in Communications Matrix Awards o n Monday (19Apr10), where she handed an award to her best friend Gayle Ki ng.
The mogul told the crowd that King found the book harder to deal with t han she did, especially as several men began claiming to be Winfrey’s bio logical father after Kelley claimed to know his real identity.
But Winfrey is adamant the book will soon be forgotten about.
Addressing the audience, the host said, "Last week was a rough week for Gayle when a so-called biography came out. Every day she’s getting herse lf more and more worked up about all of my new daddies that are now showi ng up. New daddies who are saying, ‘Hello daughter, call me, I need a new roof.’ Well, this too shall pass."

Scottish actor ALAN CUMMING has dropped out of the upcoming SPIDER-MAN Br oadway musical to take a role on hit U.S. TV show THE GOOD WIFE, accordin g to a new report.
The GoldenEye star was set to play the villainous Green Goblin in the S pider-Man: Turn Off the Dark production at New York City’s Hilton Theatre ..
But Cumming has pulled out after landing a regular part opposite Julian na Margulies in The Good Wife, according to PerezHilton.com.
The superhero stage show, which features a score by U2 stars The Edge a nd Bono, has been hit with a string of problems - it was due to begin pre views in February (10) but the performances were scrapped.
Bosses maintain they aim to open the musical in 2010 but a new launch d ate has not yet been set.
The show suffered another major blow when lead actress Evan Rachel Wood quit last month (Mar10), citing scheduling difficulties.

The next instalment in the JAMES BOND franchise has been suspended indefi nitely due to the uncertainty over the future of movie studio MGM.
Daniel Craig was scheduled to reprise the 007 role for a third time in the 23rd Bond movie, which was scheduled for a 2011 or 2012 release date.
But filming has been thrown into chaos after the sale of famed media co mpany MGM. The firm was put up for sale last year (09) after falling mill ions of dollars in debt.
Producers Michael Wilson and Barbara Broccoli have released a joint sta tement saying, "Due to the continuing uncertainty surrounding the future of MGM and the failure to close a sale of the studio, we have suspended d evelopment on Bond 23 indefinitely. We do not know when development will resume and do not have a date for the release of Bond 23." Craig adds, "I have every confidence in Barbara and Michael’s decision and look forward to production resuming as quickly as possible." (KD/PA/P

TOM PETTY & THE HEARTBREAKERS have postponed the first 10 dates on their upcoming tour so they can better promote their new album.
The American Girl rockers were scheduled to kickstart the summer shows in North Carolina on 6 May (10), but they’ve decided it would be better t o stall the dates.
Now all shows will begin in Oakland, California on 5 June (10) - 10 day s before the release of their first album in eight years, Mojo.
The rescheduled dates will now be added to the end of Petty’s summer (1 0) tour.
Joe Cocker, ZZ Top and Crosby Stills & Nash are among the big names sup porting Petty and the band on tour.

MICHAEL JACKSON’s former publicist has lost her battle to pick up a major windfall from the King of Pop’s estate - trustees have rejected her bid.
Raymone Bain has become the latest victim of the trustees, who recently rejected a handful of creditors claiming cash.
She has been told the trustees will not pay out $44 million (=C2=A327.5 million) for two creditors’ claims she filed earlier this year (10).
TMZ.com previously reported that Bain filed the documents claiming Jack son owed her the cash in salary and profit sharing.
The publicist/manager acted on behalf of Jackson throughout his child m olestation trial.

METALLICA aren’t letting a little volcanic ash wreck their European tour - they’ve taken to the continent’s roads and railways to get to their Lit huanian and Russian shows this week (beg19Apr10).
Last week’s (14Apr10) eruption of the Eyjafjallajokull volcano in Icela nd caused air traffic chaos across Europe as thick clouds of ash prompted the cancellation of 63,000 flights over the weekend.

KELIS is so desperate to make her divorce from NAS official she has filed legal papers asking a judge to terminate the pair’s marriage "as soon as possible".
The Milkshake hitmaker has been embroiled in a bitter battle with her e stranged husband, real name Nasir Jones, since she filed for divorce last year (09), just months before the birth of their first son Knight in Jul y (09).
Nas was hauled into court earlier this month (12Apr10) when a Los Angel es judge ordered him to hand over more than $290,000 (=C2=A3193,000) in l ate child and spousal support payments, in addition to covering Kelis’ le gal and accounting bills.

Nude models at a controversial exhibition in New York have complained to curators about groping.
The real-life statues are upset that visitors are touching them as they stand motionless in the Jane Kahan Gallery at the Museum of Modern Art i n Manhattan.
MOMA spokeswoman Brigitte Mulholland says, "Certain visitors… have vi olated their (models) personal space and done totally inappropriate thing s.

Former supermodel LAUREN HUTTON has credited young fashion moguls MARY-KA TE and ASHLEY OLSEN with helping her find her photoshoot skills in her 60 s - after agreeing to pose in their Row designs.
The Olsen Twins asked Hutton to be one of the faces of their new line b ecause they had always been a fan of the glamour icon - and the former mo del was thrilled to be part of an exciting new collection.
She tells the Los Angeles Times newspaper, "I saw the clothes and they were wonderful, real simple, minimalist designs. And they asked me if I w ould do this look book.
