NEW CHARGES FILED AGAINST STAMOS’ ‘EXTORTIONISTS’

Federal prosecutors have filed a new criminal charge against two people a ccused of attempting to bribe actor JOHN STAMOS with compromising photos snapped at a 2004 party.
The U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) arrested Michigan reside nts Scott Sippola and Allison Coss on an extortion charge on 2 December ( 09) after they allegedly threatened to release the snaps of the ER star u nless he handed over $680,000 (=C2=A3425,000).
Coss and Sippola were released on bond on 3 December (09), but their le gal troubles mounted on Monday (19Apr10) when authorities charged the pai r with using interstate commerce to make the threat.
According to an affidavit obtained by The Smoking Gun, the pictures in question were taken in 2004, when Stamos attended a Florida party with Co ss and her pal. A spokesperson for the actor has insisted there is nothin g embarrassing about the images.

ACTOR PENN ROBBED

Actor-turned-White House aide KAL PENN has been left shaken after he was robbed at gunpoint in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday morning (20Apr10), acco rding to online reports.
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ.com a man carrying a gun approached Pe nn at approximately 1.20am local time and took his wallet and other perso nal property. Injuries were not reported as WENN went to press.
Penn filed a police report with local authorities and an investigation has been launched, according to the website.
The actor quit the hit medical drama in 2009 and relocated to the U.S. capital to concentrate on his new post as President Barack Obama’s liaiso n officer between the White House and Asian communities.
However, it was announced earlier this month (Apr10) that he’ll leave h is government post to shoot festive film Harold & Kumar Go To White Castl e.

The Girls Aloud beauty has forged a successful solo career in Britain s ince joining the judging panel of Simon Cowell’s reality show The X Facto r in 2008.
She hit the headlines earlier this year (10) when she split from her so ccer ace husband Ashley following allegations he had a string of affairs, but Cole has stayed away from the negative news coverage.
She tells Britain’s Now magazine, "I don’t read the negativity. I got m yself into a state for a couple of years where I used to read everything, get depressed and feel unconfident.

MINAJ FUELLED BY TROUBLED CHILDHOOD

NICKI MINAJ has opened up about her troubled childhood - she was left tra umatised by her parents’ violent relationship.
The rapper - real name Onika Tanya Maraj - spent her early years terrif ied of her dad, alleging he once tried to set fire to their family home i n Queens, New York, in an attempt to kill her mum.
And Minaj admits that watching her mother suffer inspired her to use th e empowering nature of music to encourage women to be strong.
The star tells Details.com, "He drank a lot and did drugs, and he would get violent when he did. When he set fire to the house, he was attemptin g to kill my mother. She got out before it burned all the way down. I’ve always had this female-empowerment thing in the back of my mind - because I wanted my mother to be stronger, and she couldn’t be. I thought, "If I ‘m successful, I can change her life."

BUCHANAN ‘PLANNING TELL-ALL SUGABABES BOOK’

British singer KEISHA BUCHANAN is reportedly planning to lift the lid on the SUGABABES’ troubles in a new tell-all book.
The group has been dogged by rumours of infighting over the years and n ow contains none of the founding members.
Buchanan - who starred in the original line-up with Siobhan Donaghy and Mutya Buena in 1998 - left the band last year (09) amid allegations she was forced out by the record label.
And now she’s planning a book to make the band’s problems public, accor ding to Britain’s Now magazine.
A source tells the publication, "Keisha’s in discussions about writing a book about her time in the band. Publishers have been after her for age s, but it’s only now she’s seriously considering it. At the moment it’s s till in the initial stages, but she’s very excited.
"The book will chart the highs and lows and obviously deal with the ver y public split last year. Keisha’s always kept quiet about what really ha ppened even though the others have spoken at length about it." Buchanan’s former bandmates Heidi Range and Amelle Berrabah now front t he band with new member Jade Ewen. Last month (Mar10) Buchanan teamed up with Buena and Donaghy to launch a legal challenge for the right to use t he title Sugababes.

WOOD TAUGHT SLASH GUITAR RIFFS

SLASH had the ultimate music teacher when he was growing up - legendary R OLLING STONES guitarist RONNIE WOOD.
The former Guns N’ Roses rocker was born and raised in England before m oving to the U.S. with his family at the age of 11.
Wood is adamant he was a huge influence on Slash’s technical skills, sh owing him how to play complicated riffs on the guitar - and nowadays Slas h returns the favour.
Speaking on Britain’s Absolute Classic Rock radio, Wood says, "Slash, I remember him as a kid spying on me when I was playing guitar and I’d tea ch him little licks, and now I’m learning licks off him, it’s really good ..
"He’s a great guy to play with and he’s great at interacting, a good we aver, you know, we can weave, like me and (Bobby) Womack do and me and Ke ith Richards do. Slash is such a great talent, and he plays in my solo ba nd when I take it out and he’s on my new album as well."

PORTMAN FIRST WOMAN TO LAND BMI AWARD

Oscar-winning composer RACHEL PORTMAN has made history after becoming the first woman to land the prestigious career achievement award from perfor mance rights organisation BMI.
Portman will be honoured with the Richard Kirk Award at the Broadcast M usic, Inc. Film & Television Awards in Beverly Hills on 19 May (10).
She will be the first woman to be handed the prize since the organisati on began giving it out 25 years ago. It has previously gone to honourees including John Williams, John Barry, Lalo Schifrin, Danny Elfman, Alan Me nken and Mike Post.
In 1996, Portman set a historical precedent as the first woman to win a n Academy Award for original score, for romantic comedy Emma.

THE KILLERS AND KEANE FORM SUPERGROUP

Members of THE KILLERS and KEANE have teamed up to form a new supergroup.
The Killers’ drummer Ronnie Vannucci has joined forces with Keane’s key board player/songwriter Tim Rice-Oxley, as well as Noah And The Whale sta r Tom Hobden and Winston Marshall from Mumford and Sons to create a band called Mt Desolation.
The group will release an album of alternative country songs later this year (10) and will debut its new music with a gig in London on 4 June (1 0).
A post on the band’s new website reads, "Enlisting the help of friends from various other bands the newly formed group went into Eastcote studio s in London at the snowy start of this year. The end of the recording ses sions marked the end of the first chapter of the story. As Mt Desolation begins its second chapter, the fun and excitement of making the music rem ains, except now instead of being confined to a recording studio it’s bei ng taken on the road to share with anyone who wants a part of it." TYLER AND PERRY’S FRIENDSHIP FADED AS KIDS AGED

AEROSMITH bandmates STEVEN TYLER and JOE PERRY drifted apart after their children grew up - because the rockers no longer met for family gathering s, according to the guitarist.
Tyler stunned his colleagues last year (09) when he announced plans for a two-year hiatus before quitting the group, prompting speculation of a massive rift between the frontman and Perry.
Perry has downplayed the reports, but admits they are not close friends any more because they don’t "hang out together that much" off-stage.
He tells Reuters, "When our kids were younger and our kids were growing up together we were a lot closer together. As the kids got older and the y started going off their own ways and Steven ended up getting divorced..
.. you know, the family get together we don’t really do that much any more …. But it doesn’t interfere with the band." The Walk This Way hitmakers are now back on track - they’re scheduled t o kick off their Cocked, Locked, Ready to Rock tour in South America in M ay (10).

WELLER CONTINUED TOUR FOR DAD

PAUL WELLER has defended his decision to continue a U.S. tour when his fa ther was dying - insisting his dad would have wanted him to carry on perf orming.
The British rocker was in America last year (Apr09) when his family inf ormed him that his father John, who suffered from dementia, was seriously ill.
Weller decided to continue the gigs, and only flew back to the U.K. whe n he was told his beloved dad was close to death.
The musician admits his relatives were angry with him for not cancellin g the tour earlier, but he’s convinced he made the right decision because his dad would have urged him to carry on working.
He says, "(It was) a bit of a bone of contention with my mum and my sis ter. They both thought I should cancel the tour and get back. But I know my old man would say, ‘F**k that, finish the tour.’ I know he would have.
"Whether they thought of me as being a bit ruthless or hard or whatever …. I don’t know. But I know that’s what he would have wanted. I got back in time to say goodbye to him anyway." And Weller is still struggling to come to terms with losing his dad, wh o managed the rocker’s career for 30 years.
He adds, "(Of) course I miss my dad. But I miss my buddy as well. There ’s always a time on tour when I’m sitting at a bar, and I think, where’s my drinking buddy? I miss him on a lot of those levels." (LR&ZN/WNSTES/LR

MCLAREN’S FAMILY WANTS A ‘MINUTE OF MAYHEM’ FOR FUNERAL

MALCOLM MCLAREN will receive a raucous send-off on Thursday (22Apr10) - h is son is encouraging fans to take part in a "minute of mayhem" on the da y of the punk icon’s funeral.
The former Sex Pistols manager lost his battle with cancer earlier this month (Apr10) and will be laid to rest in London later in the week (22Ap r10).
The memorial service will be preceded by a funeral procession through t he streets of north London. Fans are being encouraged to line the route a s the cortege passes, but the family has requested the service itself rem ains private.
And McLaren’s relatives have asked devotees to pay their last respects by shunning a traditional minute’s silence and taking part in a "minute of mayhem" ahead of the funeral.
The star’s son Joseph Corre wants fans to play music and crank up their stereos at midday on 22 April (10).
In a post on his Humanade website, he writes, "Malcolm McLaren’s funera l will be held on Thursday 22nd April. In celebration of Malcolm’s life w e are asking people to observe a MINUTE OF MAYHEM at midday on 22nd April .. Put on your favourite records and let it RIP!"

KURYLENKO RULES OUT MARRIAGE

Former BOND girl OLGA KURYLENKO has ruled out marrying for a third time - because she doesn’t want to "sacrifice" her career for love.
The Ukrainian actress, who played Bond’s sidekick in 2008’s Quantum Of Solace, wed French fashion photographer Cedric van Mol in 2000 but they s plit four years later.
She then married an American businessman but that union also ended in d ivorce - and Kurylenko admits she’s now happily single with no plans to s ettle down again.
She says, "I think I’ll be single my whole life. It’s entirely possible I’m going to end up alone. Because I don’t want to make any sacrifices f or my own development and achieving what I want to achieve and I don’t wa nt a family to get in the way of that. I feel I’m not ready for that and I don’t know if I ever will be.
"I was married twice and I did it early. Some people my age might say, ‘OK, now’s the time to settle down and get married.’ But not me. I’ve don e it before. I was settled my whole life from when I was 20 years old and I’ve always been in relationships. But now I’m not and I’m keeping it op en."

MOMSEN: ‘I’M NOT A PARTY GIRL’

GOSSIP GIRL star TAYLOR MOMSEN is adamant she would never let a wild soci al life jeopardise her career - because she "cares too much" about her jo b to become a "party girl".
The teenage actress/singer fronts a band, The Pretty Reckless, as well as starring in the hit U.S. TV show, and she recently signed a lucrative modelling contract with top agency IMG.
And Momsen, 16, admits she will never follow in the footsteps of other former child stars such as Lindsay Lohan by embracing the Hollywood party scene.
She says, "No. I care too much about my job.I really don’t care about f ame and tabloids and all that s**t. It’s so easy to buy into, but it will just destroy you. I really care about acting. DUCHOVNY KEEPS CALM OVER TABLOID STORIES

DAVID DUCHOVNY refuses to let tabloid reports about his love life upset h im, because he doesn’t "take any of it personally".
The X-Files star’s marriage to actress Tea Leoni became the subject of much speculation in 2008 after he checked into a clinic to treat sex addi ction.
He even threatened to sue bosses at Britain’s Daily Mail newspaper afte r they alluded to an alleged affair with a tennis instructor - but he dro pped the defamation suit after the publication printed an apology.
And now he tries not to become angry about gossip.
He says, "The tabloid world is busy, and omnivorous, so I was not taken aback by that story. I don’t take any of it personally. I am not saying I enjoy it, but these things exist because people buy them, so it is not for me to say they should not print this stuff. It would be nice for them to get the facts right - but it is just gossip, so it’s not of world-sha ttering importance." But Duchovny admits he does worry about his two kids - daughter Madelai ne West, 11, and seven-year-old Kyd - reading scandalous stories about th eir dad when they’re older.
He adds, "It may be hurtful for me personally, but mostly what worries me is that my children are exposed to it. Luckily, they don’t read that B ritish newspaper. But the time will come, with the glory of Google, that they’ll find something some day. ‘Dad, what the f**k is this?’ Hopefully, I’ll be able to explain. In the meantime, I’ll get on with enjoying my f amily, my work, my interests."

RYAN PHILLIPPE has found new love since his split from actress ABBIE CORN ISH - the actor is romancing SEAN PENN’s ex-girlfriend JESSICA WHITE, acc ording to U.S. reports.
Phillippe, who was previously married to Reese Witherspoon, split from live-in girlfriend Cornish in February (10).
White recently confirmed she was romantically involved with Penn after his split from wife Robin Wright last year (09), but the relationship was n’t meant to last.

NEW MOON LEADS NATIONAL MOVIE AWARDS

THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON is leading the nominations at Britain’s upcom ing National Movie Awards - scooping nods for all three of the film’s sta rs.
Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner have all received recognition for their roles in the vampire sequel, going up against Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince stars Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, an d Rupert Grint in the Performance of the Year category.
The Twilight follow-up is pitted against Avatar, Alice In Wonderland an d Clash of the Titans in the best fantasy film category, while the next i nstallment, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, is in contention for the title of Most Anticipated Movie of the Summer.
Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince is nominated in the family film category along with Nanny McPhee And The Big Bang, and Up, while Coco Bef ore Chanel, Paranormal Activity and Harry Brown are among films nominated for breakthrough movie prize.
The awards, which are voted for by the public, will be handed out at a ceremony in London in May (10).

BULLOCK SPOTTED WITHOUT WEDDING RING

SANDRA BULLOCK has fuelled rumours of a permanent split from her husband JESSE JAMES in the wake of his cheating scandal - she has been photograph ed for the first time without her wedding ring.
The Oscar-winner walked out on her partner last month (Mar10) after tat tooed model Michelle McGee went public with claims of an 11-month affair with the TV mechanic.
Two other women have since come forward with similar claims, while a fo urth mistress is also alleged to have been involved with James during his marriage to the actress.
A removal van was spotted outside the couple’s Los Angeles home shortly after news of the scandal broke, and rumours of an impending divorce hav e surfaced again after Bullock was snapped hiking in northern California without a ring on her left hand.
The shot, obtained by Entertainment Tonight, was reportedly taken last Friday (16Apr10).

LEBROCK TO WRITE TELL-ALL BOOK

STEVEN SEAGAL’s ex-wife KELLY LEBROCK is planning to lift the lid on her life with the star in a new tell-all book.
The Weird Science actress was married to the Hollywood tough guy for ni ne years between 1987 and 1996, and they have three children together.
Seagal found himself thrust into the headlines last week (beg12Apr10) w hen a former employee filed a lawsuit alleging he used her "like a sex to y" and expected her to pleasure him sexually after landing a job as his e xecutive assistant. He denies the claims.
LeBrock has refused to comment on the allegations, but has revealed she will be telling all about life with her ex-husband in a new book.
She tells TMZ.com, "(I’m ) not surprised (by the allegations). I will r efrain from saying anything specific now because of our three children.
"I have many shocking things to say about Mr. Seagal which will be know n soon when my book comes out."
