HILTON CONFIRMS SHE AND SHAW ARE ‘VERY CLOSE’

PARIS HILTON has confirmed she’s dating her ex-fiance JASON SHAW, but the couple is taking it slow.
The socialite and her ex were spotted out in Hollywood last Friday (23A pr10), prompting speculation Hilton had found love again after splitting from on/off boyfriend Doug Reinhardt last month (Mar10).
And Hilton admits she has feelings for Shaw, who she was briefly engage d to in 2003.
In a taped interview with TV host Ellen DeGeneres, which will air in Am erica on Friday (30Apr10), Hilton says, "We’ll see what happens. I love h im so much. We’re very close and I’ve known him a very long time." Admitting she’s nervous about dating new people, Hilton adds, "It is ha rd. You meet people and you don’t know what their intentions are." The hotel heiress has also been romantically linked to Glee star Mark S alling, but insiders claim the two are just good friends.

TAYLOR’S TEARS OVER BURTON

DAME ELIZABETH TAYLOR broke down in tears in front of British royal PRINC E CHARLES on Thursday night (29Apr10) at the unveiling of a tribute to he r ex-husband RICHARD BURTON.
The veteran actress was the star guest at royal residence Buckingham Pa lace in London to mark 60 years since the opening of the Royal Welsh Coll ege of Music and Drama.
The institute is naming a theatre after Welsh actor Burton and a bust f eaturing his likeness has been commissioned for the playhouse.
And when Taylor saw the "marvellous" statue of her late ex-husband, she was overcome with emotion.
She told Charles, Prince of Wales, "Richard would have been so deeply t ouched by this great honour, as am I.
"It’s wonderful to be here and join in this celebration, along with man y others who remember and respect Richard with so much love in their hear ts." Taylor and Burton wed twice - in 1964 and 1975 - but both unions ended in divorce before his death in 1984 of a brain haemorrhage. (CL/WNWCDAM/P

KENNEDY AID SLAMS HOLMES’ MINI-SERIES

A new TV mini-series about America’s famous Kennedy family starring KATIE HOLMES has been blasted by a former presidential aid, who alleges the sc ript is based on events which "never happened".
The actress will play Jackie Kennedy, the wife of assassinated U.S. Pre sident John F. Kennedy, in the upcoming drama show which will debut on Am erica’s History Channel next year (11).
But experts and former employees of the Kennedy family are fuming after seeing early versions of the screenplay, insisting many key scenes are f ictional.
Ted Sorensen, who was John F. Kennedy’s special counsel and speechwrite r in the White House, says, "Every single conversation with the president in the Oval Office or elsewhere in which I, according to the script, par ticipated, never happened." Nigel Hamilton, author of JFK: Reckless Youth, adds: "Frankly, it’s a t ravesty. Why feed this kind of garbage on something called the History Ch annel?" Greg Kinnear will play JFK in the project.

KEATING TOLD HE CAN’T DRIVE JAGUAR TO VENICE, TAKES THE TRAIN INSTEAD

BOYZONE star RONAN KEATING has missed out on a race to Venice, Italy from London in a classic Jaguar sportscar - because the owner wouldn’t let hi m get behind the wheel.
The Irish singer helped launch a car versus train race across Europe on Thursday morning (29Apr10) - between a 1956 Grand Prix Jaguar D-type and the Orient Express.
Keating had to settle for a seat aboard the Venice-Simplon-Orient-Expre ss train, which is favoured to win the race to Italy, after he was told d riving the car would not be an option.
Before the train left Victoria Station, the singer said, "I asked (to d rive it) but they wouldn’t let me." The car’s owner, Jonathan Turner, will share the responsibility of gett ing the car to Venice ahead of the train with Octane magazine editor Robe rt Coucher, who organised the race.
Both the train and the classic car are expected to arrive at their dest ination on Friday evening (30Apr10).

HENDRIX’S FAVOURITE COAT GOES ON DISPLAY FOR THE FIRST TIME

A coat belonging to JIMI HENDRIX has gone on display for the first time a t the National Museum of the American Indian in Washington, D.C.
The patchwork leather coat is among personal items Hendrix’s sister Jan ie has donated to the museum curators for their upcoming Up Where We Belo ng: Native Musicians in Popular Culture exhibition, which opens on 1 July (10).
A museum spokesperson says, "These are among the very few of the rock l egend’s possessions sent home to his family from his apartment in New Yor k after he died in 1970. Though Hendrix’s father asked that all of his so n’s belongings be sent home to Seattle, including a hundred guitars, scan t few arrived.
"The coat was an obvious favourite of Hendrix’s, as seen from the deep creases around the elbows, dark demarcation sweat lines and well-worn hem ; until today, the coat has never been displayed, nor have photos of it b een published." Hendrix’s grandmother was Cherokee.

MAYER & URBAN TEAM UP FOR WASHINGTON SHOW

JOHN MAYER and KEITH URBAN are teaming up for a one-night-only concert af ter realising their upcoming summer tours intersect in Washington.
The two singer-songwriters became friends after recording an episode of U.S. TV cable show Crossroads together in Nashville, Tennessee in Januar y (10) but their schedules have kept them from coming together for jam se ssions and concerts.
That’ll change this August (10) when Mayer and Urban team up for a show at The Gorge in Spokane.
Mayer tells WENN, "CMT Crossroads was the first time I performed with K eith but the creative rapport was there right away. I’m looking forward t o performing together again and I hope it’s one of many opportunities to work together in the future." Urban adds, "I had the best time playing with John on CMT Crossroads. T here’s a certain simpatico between us as guitar players that, I think, co mes from sharing the same desire to express the unwritten. The track, Not Afraid, leaked online minutes before the rapper official ly premiered it on his Shade 45 Sirius Satellite network on Thursday (29A pr10).
In the introduction, a philosophical Eminem says, "I guess I had to go to that place to get to this one," before rapping, "I’m not afraid to tak e a stand/Everybody, come take my hand/We’ll walk this road together, thr ough the storm/Whatever weather… you’re not alone," through the choruse s.
He adds, "I promise to focus on only handling my responsibilities as a father/So I solemnly swear to always treat this room like my daughters an d raise it… I’m raising the bar, Imma shoot for the moon/But I’m too bu sy gazing at stars, I feel amazing and I’m not afraid." The rapper has said very little about his personal demons, which landed him in rehab during a recent hiatus

MICHAELS STILL CRITICAL, PRESS CONFERENCE SCHEDULED FOR TUESDAY

Rocker BRET MICHAELS’ recovery has been exaggerated - his aides insist he ’s still in a critical condition after suffering a brain hemorrhage last week (22Apr10).
Reports suggested the Poison singer had been upgraded to stable on Tues day (27Apr10), but his publicists claim he’s still in poor health and des perately in need of more tests at an Arizona treatment clinic before his condition will improve.
In a new post on the singer’s MySpace.com page, his reps write, "Bret r emains in critical condition in ICU (intensive care unit) under 24-hour s upervision by doctors and medical staff.
"If a patient survives the initial rupture, the first seven to 10 days after are the most critical as an additional rupture or other complicatio ns may arise. Doctors are also continuing to treat Bret for the hyponatre mia and today he will be undergoing more testing as well as an additional MRA." The reps have announced there will be a press conference on Tuesday (04 May10), during which doctors treating Michaels will "further explain his condition, treatment and prognosis." Meanwhile, Michaels’ road manager, Janna Elias, has spoken out about re ports the rocker and his team were making plans to reschedule concerts he has scrapped due to his medical problems.
She explains that Michaels could be back on the road in Fort Smith, Ark ansas on 26 May (10) "provided there are no further complications or setb acks."

MURRAY MAKES CAST AND CREW DANCE ON SET WITH HIS PLAYLISTS

BILL MURRAY plays DJ on the sets of all his movies in an effort to keep t he energy of cast and crew on a high at all times during the shoot.
The actor admits he selects playlists and arranges the music to be blas ted out on the set in between takes.
He explains, "I believe that you bring music to the set not to go, ‘You all got to listen to my crap music, and I don’t care what you think.’ It ’s not torture… It’s basically to keep tempo and rhythm going because p eople get moody and slow and down. You’ve got to keep the energy going an d keep all this attention around the camera because that’s where the mone y is.
"You have to be judicious about where you aim the boombox. You can’t ai m it at the person that can’t handle it.
"The cameramen love the music. It keeps everyone moving and the energy up. It keeps it positive and joyous. We played some rap and a lot of blue grass music on my latest film (Get Low).
