Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:24 pm

BROOKE SHIELDS is pleased the photographer who snapped a nude photo of he r as a child failed to profit from the image, calling his financial strug gles "justice".
The Blue Lagoon star posed naked for snapper Garry Gross as a pre-teen, and she alleges he tried to make money by selling the controversial imag e when she turned 16.
Shields subsequently attempted to stop Gross from using the picture, bu t a court ruled the shot didn’t breach child pornography laws.
Artist Richard Prince later made one of Gross’ images famous by taking a photo of the original and featuring it in his own work.
And Shields, now 44, insists she’s pleased Gross never profited from th e controversial picture.
She tells Easy Living magazine, "Everything that happened that felt sor did (about the shoot) happened after the fact. My kids walk around naked all the time, and I was nine - I wasn’t uncomfortable doing it. When I wa s 16, I wouldn’t have done it. That guy (original photographer Garry Gros s) waited until I was 16 before he decided to publish it - he tried to ta ke this famous person and sell her out.
"My favourite part about the whole story is that Richard Prince photogr aphed that picture and made millions of dollars, and the guy that tried t o screw me to begin with is a dog walker, and has no money. That’s justic e in a really weird way. One day I’ll have to explain it to my kids, but I’ll figure it out."

CRITICS DISAPPOINTED BY ‘DULL’ GREEN DAY MUSICAL

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:39 pm

GREEN DAY’s AMERICAN IDIOT musical has opened to lacklustre reviews on Br oadway - with critics labelling the show "dull" and "ordinary".
The production is based around the group’s 2004 album of the same name, with a storyline worked out around the songs on the record.
The stage showed opened in New York on Tuesday night (20Apr10), but alt hough critics praised the rock soundtrack, many were disappointed by the plot.
Jesse Oxfeld, of the New York Observer, writes, "I wish I could tell yo u I loved American Idiot. It looks good; it sounds good; it features a ta lented and hardworking cast. But I can’t. It’s fun. But it’s also, amid a ll the booming rock, a little dull." Peter Marks, of the Washington Post, adds, "The 90 minutes make for suc h stimulating spectacle… (but) American Idiot comes across as ordinary.
It’s surprising how a show with enough imaginative candlepower to light a stadium can appear to have invested so little energy in illuminating it s characters, or devising an involving narrative." Joe Dziemianowicz, of the New York Daily News, concludes, "Thanks for t he music, Green Day. But, jeez, couldn’t you have spared a story? And a c ouple of characters who aren’t cliched stick-figures? Because that’s what a Broadway musical needs to make it more than just a music video or a co ncert. Unfortunately American Idiot comes up short on both those counts."

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:36 pm

Rumours of MARIAH CAREY’s outrageous backstage demands have been silenced by the publication of a recent rider which shows the star’s modest list of requirements at her gigs.
The pop superstar has long been subjected to gossip about her orders be fore every appearance, sparked by a lavish list of demands published by T hesmokinggun.com several years ago. It included a bottle of Cristal Champ agne, bendy straws, and tea made with a specific brand of mineral water.
Tabloid reports about her alleged demands have become increasingly far- fetched in recent years - she was said to have asked for 20 white kittens and 100 white doves when she opened a shopping mall in London last year (09).
But a new rider, also obtained by Thesmokinggun.com, reveals a simple l ist of requirements, including three bottles of chilled Chardonnay, a var iety of soft drinks, fruit and cheese platters and low-fat pretzels.
The only lavish demands in the documents are two vases of white roses, Jo Malone candles, and furniture in plain colours: "no busy patterns, bla ck, dark grey, cream, dark pink are all fine." The rider only includes three requests for her band’s dressing room - a bowl of fresh fruit, a can of mixed nuts and one bowl of tortilla chips.
