STUMP READY FOR SOLO FAME

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 10:24 pm

PATRICK STUMP is confident he’ll be able to handle life in the spotlight when he kicks off a solo career - because he’s carefully watched his form er FALL OUT BOY bandmate PETE WENTZ deal with fame.
The singer admits he is rarely recognised in public because bassist Wen tz served as the Dance, Dance hitmakers’ unofficial frontman before the g roup decided to take a break earlier this year (10).
But Stump, who is preparing to release a solo album, insists he’s learn ed a lot by seeing Wentz tackle the lead role.
He tells the Washington Post, "I don’t get recognised at all. I’m not u sed to getting recognised. It really is a unique position. There’s certai nly not a lot of solo artists in that situation. I can think of other ban ds where the lead singer wasn’t really the main guy, the focus of the att ention. But I can’t think of a lot of times where that guy then goes off and does a solo record.
"I think I have the good fortune of seeing (fame) happen to someone els e very close to me (Wentz)… so I think I have a very good handle on it.
" And Stump is excited to show fans his R&B side after so many years as a rock star: "Having been in a somewhat popular rock band, I’m not really much of a rock guy. I’m not really comfortable with it, it’s not really w hat I know. But it certainly is for Pete as a lyricist, so you can’t writ e an R&B song to that, it just doesn’t sing right, it doesn’t feel right.
So at the end of the day, it almost felt more like a Ouija board, where I wasn’t really in control. It just kind of directed you."

The rockers have dismissed rumours of a rift and revealed they have alr eady replaced Atkins, adding: "All is good between the band, everyone is cool, this is more of a life change decision for Dave. GREEN HORNET DELAYED AGAIN

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 10:12 pm

Movie bosses have dismissed rumours upcoming superhero movie THE GREEN HO RNET is in trouble after the film’s release was delayed for a second time - they insist the extra three weeks will allow technicians to add 3D eff ects.
The blockbuster, starring Seth Rogen and Cameron Diaz, was originally d ue to hit cinemas this summer (10), but it was pushed back until December (10) amid a string of production issues following the departure of direc tor Stephen Chow.
Nicolas Cage was also rumoured to have quit the project in a dispute ov er his deal.
Studio heads have now announced the film will be released on 14 January (11) to coincide with America’s Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekend - fuelling gossip about problems with the picture.

He tells Deadline.com, "We’re investing more in the film to have it 3D.
We’ve seen part of the movie. We love it. We believe in it. Whoever is s preading these rumours has not seen it. We’re going to finish Green Horne t in 3D and take nine months to do it right."

CAMERON SLAMS TITANS REMAKE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 10:12 pm

JAMES CAMERON is calling for movie bosses to put together a special organ isation to regulate the quality of 3D films - following the "stupid" deci sion to add effects to CLASH OF THE TITANS.
The director embraced the technique when making his hugely successful s ci-fi epic Avatar, and he’s been championing 3D movies ever since.
And he is convinced industry officials need to form a new organisation to publicise and protect 3D films - because poor quality effects will har m the new genre.
Cameron says, "What I’d love to do is put together some kind of a forum with the DGA (Directors Guild of America), let’s say, and maybe the ASC (American Society of Cinematographers) and we’d have to do it in Canada, too. I think some quality standards do need to be discussed. I think the studios and big distribution companies need to be included in that dialog ue. Let’s not do stupid stuff that’s going to hurt this burgeoning market place." And Cameron uses the Clash Of The Titans remake as an example, because movie bosses behind the film delayed its release so they could add 3D eff ects at the last minute.
He adds, "They worked against themselves with that film. I’ve heard peo ple say that they couldn’t watch (Clash of the Titans) in 3D and thought it looked better in 2D and they enjoyed the film more. I haven’t seen the film, so I don’t want to say too much, but I heard from enough sources t hat it was borderline unwatchable. And I have to say, I predicted that. W hen they said they were going to try to convert it to 3D in seven weeks, I said it’s not possible. You can’t do it. You can slap a 3D label on it and call it 3D, but there’s no possible way that it can be done up to a s tandard that anybody would consider high enough."

DOUGLAS’ PRISON REQUEST DENIED

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 10:12 pm

CAMERON DOUGLAS is facing the possibility of serving his five-year jail t erm in a federal prison - after a judge refused a request to send him to a minimum security unit in New Jersey.
The son of actor Michael Douglas was locked up in a Manhattan federal j ail for drug charges on Tuesday (20Apr10).
The 31 year old pleaded guilty to one count of methamphetamine possessi on with intent to distribute a controlled substance, and one count of pos session of cocaine in January (10).
Manhattan Federal Judge Richard Berman initially approved Douglas’ requ est to serve the term at a minimum security prison in Lewisburg, Pennsylv ania.
His legal team fears he may not "immediately qualify for designation" a t the Lewisburg jail, so they wrote a letter to the judge asking for Doug las to be transferred to a facility at Fort Dix, New Jersey - where he co uld continue receiving therapy.
But Berman refused the request because it should have been made at the time of sentencing - and now it is unclear whether Douglas will be transf erred to another minimum security unit if officials at Lewisburg refuse t o take him.
The It Runs In The Family star was arrested in August (09) following a drugs raid on his room at a New York City hotel.
He was reportedly plotting to move approximately $18,000 (=C2=A312,000) -worth of crystal meth from California to New York to sell when an underc over informant alerted the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.
