IDLEWILD ANNOUNCE HIATUS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:39 pm

Scottish rockers IDLEWILD will go their separate ways once they conclude their current U.K. tour - blaming the hiatus on a lack of "demand" for th eir music.
The band will take an extended break after they wrap up a series of gig s in Britain and Ireland in May (10).
Frontman Roddy Woomble announced the news in a post on the group’s Face book.com page, but did not reveal if the rockers expect to reunite in fut ure.
He writes, "At the end of this final part of the tour we will have play ed 40 gigs around the U.K. and Ireland in support of (the band’s latest a lbum) Post Electric Blues, which seems more than enough for some time. Th ere isn’t the demand for our music that there was in the past, especially not outside of Britain, so it seems after this year it’s an appropriate time to take a break, a ‘hiatus’ or whatever you want to call it." HOUSTON ADDRESSES VOICE PROBLEMS ON STAGE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:36 pm

WHITNEY HOUSTON apologised to the crowd at a concert in London on Sunday night (25Apr10) after her famous voice failed onstage - telling fans her vocals are "getting a little temperamental".
The singer is currently touring the world with her Nothing But Love sho ws, but her performances have been marred by problems.
The gigs have been mauled by critics, with many claiming Houston sounds breathless and off-key throughout her songs - and she scrapped several c oncerts in Europe earlier this month (Apr10) after falling sick with an u pper respiratory infection.

The singer acknowledged her failings and apologised to the audience for her poor vocal performance.
She told the crowd, "She don’t want to come, my soprano friend. Sometim es the old girl sings, but not tonight. I want to do it, but she doesn’t want to… She’s getting a little… temperamental, even." She also insisted her croaky vocals had been exacerbated by the O2 Aren a’s powerful air-conditioning system, urging officials at the venue to "T urn the air-con off, I can feel it, it takes away my soprano." Later in the show, Houston also struggled with her other hits including Greatest Love Of All, which she cut short after just a couple of verses.
