ALLEN BLASTS THE BRITS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:42 pm

LILY ALLEN has blasted British music prizegiving the Brit Awards, insisti ng the honour she picked up at this year’s (10) ceremony "means absolutel y nothing" to her.
The Smile singer won Best Female Solo Artist in February (10), an accol ade she described at the time as the "perfect goodbye" after announcing s he was quitting music.
But two months on, Allen insists the trophy is worthless, and dismisses the awards ceremony as a "TV show" - suggesting the winners are fixed by record label executives.
Allen says, "I got a Brit Award recently. And that was something four y ears ago that I would have died for. But when I finally got that award it meant absolutely nothing to me. Because I now know that the Brit Awards is a TV show. Record company executives make deals with a TV channel and the producers about who wins what award in exchange for performance time.
So it’s just become a non-award, like ‘Thank you for this’". (IG/WNWC/JM
