Actor ALLEN SWIFT, who voiced classic cartoon characters Might Mouse, Din ky Duck and Howdy Doody, has died at the age of 87.
Swift died on 18 April (10) at his Manhattan home. His cause of death h ad not been disclosed as WENN went to press.
Swift landed his big break in 1954 when he filled in for Howdy Doody st ar Bob Smith, after the former host suffered a heart attack.
The role kickstarted his Hollywood career, and helped Swift win over 30 ,000 television and radio commercials, including promos for Jell-O, the E veready battery, a toilet plunger for Drano, Vita=E2=80=99s Beloved Herri ng Maven, Hostess Ho Hos and Sanka decaffeinated coffee.
He also played animated characters Simon Bar Sinister and Riff Raff on TV cartoon Underdog, and most of the characters on the Tom and Jerry cart oons made from 1960 to 1962.
He appeared in several Off Broadway productions and in the Broadway pla ys including How to Make a Man, The Student Gypsy and My Old Friends.
Swift is survived by his wife, Lenore Loveman, a son, two daughters and five grandchildren.

VANESSA HUDGENS was scolded by producers while filming new romance movie BEASTLY after repeatedly mussing up her hair to get into character.
The actress plays an unkempt student in the new fantasy film, an update on the Beauty and the Beast fairytale, and embraced the idea of not havi ng to look perfectly polished.
But the brunette beauty admits she went too far - and landed in trouble after attempting to dishevel her locks.
She tells MTV.com, "I made a point to not look put-together. On the fir st day of shooting, I would not stop fidgeting with my hair. I was trying to make it look messier and messier and messier and messier! Finally, th e producers were like, ‘You need to calm down on messing your hair up, be cause it’s getting a little too crazy.’"

WEST WING star RICHARD SCHIFF feared a career backlash over his new relig ious-themed comedy THE INFIDEL.
The Emmy winner took a pay cut to jet to London and shoot the low budge t comedy, about a Muslim who discovers he was adopted and is really Jewis h.
Schiff, whose character teaches Omid Djalili’s Muslim how to be Jewish, embraced the opportunity to work in the U.K. on a smaller production.
But he admits having hesitations about the subject matter, telling WENN , "You don’t know how something is going to turn out. And it’s always pos sible it might take a left turn somewhere.
"You’re walking a line on very sensitive issues." But he insists anyone who is offended by the film has got the wrong ide a, adding, "It’s only the people who look around for something to be upse t about who will be offended by this.
"When you go along to see a comedy, you should be thinking ‘What can I laugh at here? Not, what can I be offended by here?”’

JULIA ROBERTS has topped People magazine’s World’s Most Beautiful list, j oined by fellow superstars DANIEL CRAIG and teen singing sensation JUSTIN BIEBER.
The Pretty Woman star, who has claimed the title three times before, is still winning over fans and making men swoon at age 42.
It is the twelfth time Roberts has made the top 100.

DOMINIC MONAGHAN has confirmed reports he has broken his foot in a freak surfing accident by showing it off on U.S. TV.
The Lord of the Rings star used a cane to hobble onto comedian Jimmy Ki mmel’s late-night TV show on Tuesday (27Apr10), with his left foot in a c ast.
He told the host, "I always wanted to carry a cane. I feel like a P.I.M ..P." When Kimmel asked what had happened to him, the Brit revealed, "I broke my foot. I broke it in a very cool way… surfing. I broke it with one o f the greatest surfers of his generation, a guy called Kalani Robb.
"I did a very late drop-in and I was looking for my section when I did a floater and my section was a little far away from me, so I was trying t o cut in to the wave… I wiped out, and I was so annoyed… that I dug m y left foot in to make a right… and I heard an explosion in my brain.
"I broke my metatarsal, which is easily the coolest bone in the world t o break - it was the bone that Cartilage magazine has voted the in-vogue bone to break for the past three years. Before that it was the rib." Since the awards show Gervais has met with McCartney and Farrell and in sists both men thought his comments about their problems were funny.
Farrell has even gone public with his thought about Gervais’ mockery of him: "He announced to the audience that he hates cliches, especially abo ut Irish people being drunk, and then he said, ‘Ladies and gentleman, her e’s Colin Farrell!’ But it’s what I was and what I did." And McCartney reportedly sought Gervais out backstage at the Globes and told him he "loved" his gag about his divorce battle with ex-wife Heathe r Mills.
He joked, "We actually came over on the same flight. I didn’t get to sp eak to him because I was up the front in first class and he was behind me in coach, saving money. He spent an awful lot last year." SANDRA BULLOCK’s marriage to husband JESSE JAMES has "become insupportabl e" according to divorce documents filed earlier this month (Apr10), in th e aftermath of his cheating scandal.
The Oscar-winning actress walked out on James in March (10), after tatt ooed model Michelle McGee went public with claims of an 11-month affair w ith the TV mechanic.
Several other women also came forward with allegations of affairs with James, prompting the disgraced star to issue a public apology to his wife and check into rehab to deal with his personal issues.
Bullock has confirmed to People magazine the marriage is definitely ove r, and also revealed the couple adopted a baby boy from New Orleans, Loui siana shortly before news broke of the scandal.
Divorce documents filed in Travis County Court on 23 April (10) reveal Bullock was able to keep the proceedings out of the public eye by filing under her initials spelled backwards: B.A.S.
The filings read: "The marriage has become insupportable because of dis cord or conflict of personalities that destroys the legitimate end of the marriage/relationship and prevents any reasonable expectations of reconc iliation." According to the documents, the estranged couple will "enter into agree ment for the division of their estate".

The rapper signed up a number of designers to collaborate on her debut line, which she has dubbed Diamond Girl, but decided to take back full co ntrol of the project after growing frustrated with their ideas.

JESSICA SIMPSON has developed an addiction to nicotine chewing gum, even though she has never smoked a cigarette.
The singer started using the product, which is designed to help smokers quit, by accident - but now relies on it for energy.

MADINA LAKE "hit rock bottom" last year (09) after they were dropped by t heir record label - they all spiralled into "addiction" and their persona l lives "fell apart".
The rockers’ three-year contract with their Roadrunner label was termin ated, throwing the future of the group into jeopardy.
The musicians found out the news while they were on tour in Japan, and bassist Matthew Leone admits they all struggled to cope once they returne d to their native Chicago, Illinois.
He tells Britain’s Kerrang! magazine, "It was very scary. We went back to Chicago as a dropped band with an uncertain future. We spiralled into hell. Everyone developed addictions - some pretty intense s**t. We hit ro ck bottom, no doubt about it. All the negative cliches you could imagine happened to our band within those three months. Our personal lives fell a part completely and we went to a really dark, ugly place." The band later relocated to Florida to begin work on a new album, and e mbarked on a U.K. tour in March (10) - and frontman Nathan Leone reveals the gigs pulled them out of a downward spiral.
He says, "The welcome we received (from fans) brought tears to our eyes .. We had no label, no nothing. It was just the four of us. We went from o ur drug-addicted low to being clean and the happiest we’ve ever been. We’ ve had label offers already and we’ve just had the most successful tour e ver."

KATY PERRY has spoken out to clear up reports she’s using hypnotherapy to help her quit smoking ahead of her wedding - insisting the story is "wei rd" and a "made up" tabloid rumour.
The pop star, who is due to wed comedian Russell Brand later this year (10), has reportedly turned to cigarettes to help deal with the stress of organising the upcoming nuptials.
In an article published in Britain’s Daily Mirror earlier this week (26 Apr10), Perry is said to have told an unnamed pal, "I’m stressed out with the wedding and I keep smoking to calm my nerves. I do it even though I know it is really bad for me and I know I need to stop. So I’m thinking I am going to have hypnotherapy to help me get over it." Incarcerated rapper LIL WAYNE has defended himself against critics who’ve blasted his parenting skills, insisting he is a "great father".
The Lollipop hitmaker, who is currently serving a year-long prison sent ence, has often been criticised for fathering four children with four dif ferent women.
But the hip-hop star is adamant he doesn’t just send the mothers money every month - he is involved in raising each one of his kids.
Speaking to Ozone Magazine before his incarceration, Lil Wayne says, "I ‘m not on child support with none (sic) of my kids because I’m a great fa ther. So it’s (good parenting) not determined by how much money you’re pa ying at all. That’s not what it’s about. It’s about being there and being that important person in their lives." British-Iranian actor OMID DJALILI was warned by journalists in the Middl e East his role in religiously-charged new comedy THE INFIDEL - could "ge t him in trouble".

He tells WENN, "The Iranian press said, ‘We love the movie and we love you, but we’re really worried, you’re going to get yourself into trouble.
