LENNON’S BEATLES LYRICS GO UP FOR AUCTION

JOHN LENNON’s handwritten lyrics for the BEATLES song A DAY IN THE LIFE a re expected to sell for as much as $700,000 (GBP437,000) when they go und er the hammer in New York in June (10).
The lyrics appear on a double-sided sheet of paper, which includes corr ections and amendments made in red ink.
A Day in the Life is the final track on the band’s 1967 Sgt. Pepper’s L onely Hearts Club Band album and recently came 26th in Rolling Stone Maga zine’s 500 greatest songs of all time poll.
Lennon’s writings aren’t expected to break the record for Beatles lyric s, set by All You Need Is Love, which fetched $1 million (GBP625,000) in 2005.
