WOOD TAUGHT SLASH GUITAR RIFFS
SLASH had the ultimate music teacher when he was growing up - legendary R OLLING STONES guitarist RONNIE WOOD.
The former Guns N’ Roses rocker was born and raised in England before m oving to the U.S. with his family at the age of 11.
Wood is adamant he was a huge influence on Slash’s technical skills, sh owing him how to play complicated riffs on the guitar - and nowadays Slas h returns the favour.
Speaking on Britain’s Absolute Classic Rock radio, Wood says, "Slash, I remember him as a kid spying on me when I was playing guitar and I’d tea ch him little licks, and now I’m learning licks off him, it’s really good ..
"He’s a great guy to play with and he’s great at interacting, a good we aver, you know, we can weave, like me and (Bobby) Womack do and me and Ke ith Richards do. Slash is such a great talent, and he plays in my solo ba nd when I take it out and he’s on my new album as well."
