PINKETT SMITH LANDS SURFING LESSON AND PORTRAIT AT AUCTION
Actress JADA PINKETT SMITH had a big night at the American Red Cross of S anta Monica’s annual Red Tie Affair in California on Saturday (17Apr10) - she paid $5,750 (=C2=A33,590) for a surfing lesson and landed a life-siz ed $25,000 (=C2=A315,625) portrait for free.
The Matrix star joined husband Will Smith, Josh Duhamel and Fergie at t he charity auction at the Fairmont Miramar Hotel, and showed up keen to s pend a bundle of cash.
She and her husband drove the bidding for a surf lesson with profession als Warren Metcalf and Garrett McNamara and landed a day out at the beach in Malibu, California with the two boarders.
But the best was yet to come.
Persian businesswoman Simin Hashemizadeh, owner of the South Pacific Su rgery Centers, purchased an Anthony Noble portrait of the actress for $25 ,000 and then insisted Pinkett Smith took it home with her.
A spokesman for the event said, "Jada had wanted to buy it."
