CHESNEY DONATING CONCERT MOVIE PROFITS TO CHARITY
Generous country music singer KENNY CHESNEY is donating a portion of prof its from ticket sales for his new 3D concert movie to help preserve North America’s national parks.
The No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems hitmaker will give $1 (=C2=A30.67) from each of the first 50,000 tickets sold for screenings of his new conc ert movie, Kenny Chesney: Summer in 3D, when it hits U.S. theatres on Wed nesday (21Apr10).
Chesney hopes to raise the $50,000 (=C2=A331,250) for the National Park s Conservation Association (NPCA) to fund restoration projects at the Gra nd Canyon, Yellowstone and Biscayne National Parks.
He tells Usmagazine.com, "Any time you can give back or help protect ou r nation’s parks, that’s a good thing… No matter who you are, what you do, that beauty is all of ours to enjoy - to go camping, hiking, to sail in - and that undeveloped land is a gift. But it’s a gift to maintain." (
