HOUSTON NOT HEADING BACK TO REHAB

WHITNEY HOUSTON’s lawyer is fuming over reports the star is heading back to rehab after allegedly collapsing backstage at a recent concert - he’s branded the claims "ridiculous".
The R&B superstar’s Nothing But Love tour has been marred by complaints after the singer struggled to get through several of her shows, seemingl y finding it hard to breath and disappearing backstage for several minute s at a time.
The star’s rep insisted Houston’s breathing difficulties were caused by smoking cigarettes, and denied allegations she had returned to using cra ck cocaine.
The star’s tour received more bad press when U.S. tabloid the National Enquirer alleged the singer had collapsed, and had been persuaded to ente r a rehabilitation centre to battle her issues.
But the I Will Always Love You hitmaker’s attorney Marty Singer has ref uted the report, insisting there is no truth in the claims.
He tells UsMagazine.com, "Whitney is not headed to rehab. She is headed to Paris, where she will be continuing her world tour.
"Ridiculous. It did not happen." In an interview with TV titan Oprah Winfrey last year (09), Houston adm itted taking drugs with former husband Bobby Brown, revealing her mum, Ci ssy, turned up to her home with an injunction and ordered her to get help ..

MONJACK & MURPHY’S LOVE WAS FOR REAL

BRITTANY MURPHY’s grieving husband has spoken out about reports the actre ss only married him so he could stay in America.
Brit Simon Monjack and Murphy were dogged by odd couple remarks when th ey wed in 2007, but both maintained that they were very much in love.
Now, following the star’s death in December (09), the producer/photogra pher has gone public with the truth behind his romance with the actress.
He admits his visa was expiring when he started dating Murphy but insis ts that had nothing to do with the couple’s decision to wed.
He tells U.S. news show Access Hollywood, "My visa was expiring and I w ould have had to go… (but) I mean Brittany Murphy marrying for a visa i s so crazy." And Monjack accepts his romance with Murphy may have been unorthodox to some - but he was smitten with her and she with him.
He adds, "It was more of just an attraction to the person… She just f ell in love." The producer, who is eight years older than Murphy, also reveals he fir st fell for the actress when she was a teenager - but had to wait for her to grow up: "She was, like, very young when she was 17… It would have been like dating a 12 year old." PATTINSON ‘WORRIED’ OVER REMEMBER ME RECEPTION

ROBERT PATTINSON is anxious about the reception his new film REMEMBER ME will receive - warning his fans not to expect to have their "buttons pres sed".
The Twilight hunk stars in the romantic drama opposite Emilie de Ravin and plays a rebel who faces a tragic end.
And the Brit is concerned his devotees may be left disappointed by the moving film, as it isn’t the "happy romantic drama" people may be expecti ng.
He tells Britain’s Sky News, "It does worry me that when a film has a l ot of attention, most audiences are used to having all their buttons pres sed, and it doesn’t really press the same buttons as other films.
"I hope people don’t go into it thinking, ‘I am going to watch a really happy romantic drama’, because it is not really."

MONTAG SACKS NEW MANAGER

Reality TV star HEIDI MONTAG has sacked her newly appointed manager, just days after announcing him as a replacement for her previous agent, husba nd SPENCER PRATT.
Montag sparked rumours her marriage to Pratt was in jeopardy after reve aling she was no longer managed by her partner and had signed her psychic healer, Aiden Chase, as her full-time rep.
The star has worked with Chase since undergoing a staggering ten cosmet ic surgeries in 24 hours.
But things have already soured between the pair, with Montag announcing she has parted company from Chase following his "behaviour" on the set o f her new movie Just Go With It.
She tells People.com, "I have decided to part ways with Mr. Chase both as a manager and as a psychic and will scrutinise my business decisions m ore carefully in the future. I will now be managing my own career as a st rong and independent woman.
"Unfortunately recent behaviour by Mr. Chase on (the) set of both Just Go With It starring Adam Sandler, Jennifer Aniston and Nicole Kidman and The Hills have made me question this decision." However, Chase insists he hasn’t been notified of his behaviour or his dismissal - and denies he tried to poach Montag’s The Hills co-star Audri na Patridge as a client.
He adds, "At this time, I am not aware of any change in my business rel ationship with Heidi Montag… Heidi invited me to the set of Just Go Wit h It and the terms of our financial agreement are in line with standard m anager/talent agreements. I spoke with Audrina Patridge briefly when I wa s on the set of The Hills with Heidi recently, but never discussed being her manager."

MASTERSON SUED OVER CONDO LOAN

Actor DANNY MASTERSON is facing a huge lawsuit from bank officials who lo aned him $3.2 million (=C2=A32 million) for the construction of a condo, after the building project collapsed in the U.S. housing crisis.
The That 70s Show star borrowed the large sum to build a condo in Los A ngeles from U.S. lenders TomotoBank in 2007.
However, after the global economic crisis hit America’s real estate mar ket in 2008 and 2009, Masterson stopped making repayments, according to a lawsuit filed by the bank in L.A. earlier this month (Mar10).
The lenders are demanding the star repays $2,911,586 (=C2=A31,941,057), plus interest, according to TMZ.com.
However, Masterson’s representative tells the website that the suit is "nonsense", as the financiers "breached their loan agreement with Danny a nd his partners."

HAIM DEATH VERDICT ‘DEFERRED’

The cause of tragic former child star COREY HAIM’s death is still unknown , with officials signing off the reason for the actor’s passing as "defer red" on his death certificate.
The Lost Boys star passed away in Los Angeles last week (10Mar10), afte r collapsing at his mum Judy’s house in the early hours of the morning. H e was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
According to the actor’s mother, her son died of pulmonary congestion - fluid on the lungs - and an enlarged heart.
But California’s Attorney General Edmund G. Brown Jr. fuelled speculati on the conditions were down to a drugs overdose, by revealing Haim obtain ed an illegal order for painkiller OxyContin, written out on a fake presc ription pad, and could have had up to 20 doctors writing prescriptions fo r him.
But the real cause of Haim’s demise is still unknown, after coroners wr ote "deferred" on his death certificate.
It is believed officials are still awaiting toxicology reports to confi rm the reasons for the 38 year old’s passing.

PALTROW FELL IN LOVE WITH NASHVILLE DURING FILM SHOOT

GWYNETH PALTROW has become an unofficial ambassador for country music cap ital Nashville, Tennessee - even though she doesn’t live there.
The actress recently spent time in the city shooting new movie Love Don ‘t Let Me Down with Tim McGraw and she can now understand why Nicole Kidm an and Keith Urban, Sheryl Crow, Taylor Swift, McGraw and Faith Hill and other top stars call the place home.
She has become the latest celebrity to fall for the charm of the city - and she’s cooing about it on her GOOP.com website.
She writes, "I just spent a few months living and working in Nashville, Tennessee which was an incredible experience. As I’m apt to do, I resear ched, ate, drank, tried, and asked my way around the city ’til I found th e best spots it has to offer.
"Never have I met such warm people, heard such good music, eaten so muc h fried chicken… I could go on and on.
"It’s pretty easy to get to if you live in the good ol’ US of A as it’s kind of smack dab in the middle (well, not really, but almost) and is so worth a trip. It’s pretty damn great." WALL & CHAMILLIONAIRE BACK TOGETHER

Rappers PAUL WALL and CHAMILLIONAIRE ended their war of words publicly on Wednesday night (17Mar10) when they hit the stage together at the openin g night of this year’s (10) South By Southwest festival in Texas.
The two Texas-born stars grew up together and were firm friends until t hey both found musical success in the early-2000s.
They even collaborated on 2002’s The Color Changin’ Click before the fe ll out.
Wednesday’s Austin reunion was the first time the rappers had performed together for seven years.
And Wall admits is was mutual friend Pimp C who brought the two former friends back together.
He explains, "(He said) ‘If we=E2=80=99re going to have a movement, a T exas movement for the music, we need to come together and quit fighting a mongst ourselves.’" Wall and Chamillionaire now hope to cement their renewed friendship by announcing a five-week tour.
Referencing their "petty" feud, Wall says, "Sometimes, there=E2=80=99s more than one way to reach the goal. I had my view of what we should do, and he had his view."

TREACH WANTS MORE FUNDING FOR TROUBLED YOUTH

Rapper TREACH is urging U.S. government officials to allocate more fundin g to youth programs to help keep at-risk youngsters off the streets and o ut of trouble.
The Naughty by Nature hitmaker is convinced many teens turn to a life o f drugs and crime simply because they don’t have a healthy outlet, like a rts or sports, to channel their energy.
And he wants officials to focus on preventative measures for impression able kids.
He tells U.S. magazine Sister 2 Sister, "Where’s the money for all the programs? Now, man, in the street, it’s (sic) nothing for these kids to d o… All that gang prevention should be trips out of the neighbourhood. H aving different gangs together playing. I had a basketball league where i t was rival gang members playing on the same basketball team. It’s hard t o kill somebody once you break bread with them. You just gonna lock every body up? JOURNEY STAR PERRY LASHES OUT AT COMIC OVER RACIST SLUR STORY

Former JOURNEY star STEVE PERRY has taken aim at comedienne SARAH SILVERM AN for suggesting he used a racist slur to describe her humour.
Silverman refused to name names in her interview with Playboy magazine, but hinted that the "onetime lead singer of a very popular band from the 1980s" was Perry, joking, "I=E2=80=99ll just say this: After that, I sto pped believin=E2=80=99," which the rocker took as a reference to Journey hit Don=E2=80=99t Stop Believin=E2=80=99.
She claimed the mystery man approached her after a show and said, "You=E2 =80=99re my favourite comedian - you have the best n**ger jokes." But Perry wasn’t laughing when he read the article, insisting he has ne ver used the "n-word".
He tells Rolling Stone magazine, "I=E2=80=99m really shocked. She was s o friendly and so nice. I don=E2=80=99t understand why she would go there , it=E2=80=99s so bizarre. I don=E2=80=99t use that word, are you kidding ? That=E2=80=99s so derogatory.
"I walked up to her after the show and I said, ‘I can=E2=80=99t believe that somehow you seem to be getting away with all these slurs and the n- word, I just can=E2=80=99t believe how you=E2=80=99re doing this,’ and I looked at my friend and I said, ‘I can=E2=80=99t believe how she=E2=80=99 s getting away with this,’ and she looked at me and kind of smiled. It wa sn=E2=80=99t like I was condemning her or condoning her." But Perry has no plans to boycott the outrageous comedienne’s shows: "Y ou=E2=80=99ve gotta see her show because she uses every ethnic slur known to man that historically has been very unforgivable."

T.I. SUED OVER AKOO CLOTHING RANGE

Rapper T.I. is facing legal action over his clothing label Akoo - he’s be en slapped with a trademark infringement lawsuit concerning the brand nam e.
Just a year after the Live Your Life hitmaker, real name Clifford Harri s, Jr., officially launched Akoo Clothing, he has been sued by bosses at social music TV network Akoo International, who claim they own the sole r ights to the name.
TV executives have filed suit against T.I. in the U.S. District Court o f the Northern District of Illinois, insisting they have held the Akoo tr ademark for years, reports AllHipHop.com.
They are demanding the rapper stop using the brand name because his clo thing range has misled and deceived consumers and potential clients of th e TV network, which delivers video footage to over 86 million customers a month in the U.S.
Akoo CEO Niko Drakoulis says, "Akoo has been recognised as a leading so cial TV platform for connecting brand advertisers with millions of our en gaged viewers.
"Our primary obligation and goal is to prevent confusion among our cons umers, which is among the most basic objectives of trademark law. At the same time, Akoo has invested nearly a decade of effort and substantial ca pital to deploy its network and will do everything in its power to protec t its brand." Akoo International bosses were prompted to sue T.I. after a billboard a dvertising his fashion range in Newark, New Jersey caused controversy for being too sexually suggestive. ROWE’S LAWYER WANTS JACKSON CASH

A lawyer representing MICHAEL JACKSON’s ex-wife DEBBIE ROWE has become th e latest in a long line of creditors demanding cash from the King of Pop’ s estate.
Eric George has filed legal papers in Los Angeles in a bid to claim bac k $175,000 (=C2=A3109,375) for legal services during the battle to appoin t a guardian for Michael Jackson’s three kids.
Rowe, who is the mother of two of the children, eventually agreed to th e court’s decision to hand Katherine Jackson the job - a ruling the late superstar asked for in his will.
But, in his legal documents - obtained by TMZ.com, George claims estate lawyer Howard Weitzman promised to "reimburse (George’s firm) on Ms. Row e’s behalf." Weitzman disputes his former rival’s claims, telling the website, "I ha d discussions with Mr. George about his request that the estate pay his f ees on behalf of Debbie Rowe, but no agreement was ever reached." BURTON TO DIRECT 3-D ADDAMS FAMILY?

TIM BURTON is planning to put his gothic spin on a new animated 3-D versi on of THE ADDAMS FAMILY, according to a U.K. report.
The kooky director has wowed audiences with his 3-D version of Lewis Ca rroll’s classic Alice In Wonderland, which has pulled in $208.6 million ( =C2=A3130.4 million) during its two-week run at the box office.
And Burton is hoping the groundbreaking movie technique will resurrect the spooky Addams Family, who last appeared on the big screen in 1993’s A ddams Family Values.
According to Deadline.com, Illumination Entertainment has acquired the rights to the original cartoons by Charles Addams, and the company’s boss Chris Meledandri will act as producer.

Cartoon superhero CAPTAIN AMERICA’s real-life stylist insists MAD MEN sta r JON HAMM is the only actor who can play the colourful Marvel Comics cha racter.

GARCIA TALKED HIMSELF OUT OF PLAYING PFEIFFER’S HUSBAND

Movie star ANDY GARCIA lost the chance to play MICHELLE PFEIFFER’s husban d in 1995 film DANGEROUS MINDS after convincing producers the character w as unnecessary.
The character wasn’t in the initial script and he understood why when h e was called in to play Pfeiffer’s husband. But, after making his viewpoi nt clear, Garcia still shot scenes with the actress - only for his charac ter to be edited out of the film.
He tells BlogTalkRadio.com, "They called and said that they wanted to d evelop a love interest for her (Pfeiffer’s character) in the script. I re ad the script and said, ‘You don’t really need one… but I’m there for y ou if you think you need me.’ "They wrote up a whole arc for this relationship and we played it out; I had a great time. We shot the whole relationship and then it was determ ined later on that it was really unnecessary in the storyline, which is w hat I said to begin with. But I did cash the cheque!" Garcia almost had the chance to play Pfeiffer’s husband again in his ne w movie City Island - her name was on director Raymond De Felitta’s wish list, but he chose Julianna Margulies instead.

MONJACK: ‘I TRIED TO KEEP BRITTANY ALIVE’

BRITTANY MURPHY’s widower tried desperately to keep the actress alive as doctors attempted to save her life, even though she would have been left braindead if they had succeeded.
British producer/photographer Simon Monjack has revealed his late wife was barely alive when she arrived at hospital shortly after her mother fo und the actress unresponsive at home.
He tells U.S. news show Access Hollywood that medics warned him of the danger of trying to keep her alive - but he couldn’t allow them to switch off her life support system.
Monjack says, "The doctor came in and said, ‘She’ll be braindead, basic ally… What do you want me to do?’ and I said, ‘I want you to keep going ….’ and then… he came in with the whole grieving team and said that Br ittany hadn’t made it." Findings from an autopsy report have suggested 32-year-old Murphy passe d away on 20 December (09) after suffering a cardiac arrest at her Hollyw ood Hills home. The tragedy was ruled accidental by officials at the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office, with pneumonia listed as the primary cau se of death.

BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN STARS LEAD EARLY 2011 OSCARS RACE

BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN stars JAKE GYLLENHAAL, MICHELLE WILLIAMS and ANNE HATH AWAY are the frontrunners to score big at the Oscars in 2011, according t o the leading Academy Awards race website.
The three stars are all tipped to claim leading actor and actress Oscar s nominations for the films Blue Valentine and Love & Other Drugs.
Experts at the Los Angeles Times newspaper’s The Envelope blog also tip s Angelina Jolie, Ben Stiller and Michael Douglas for Oscars gold for the ir roles in Salt, Greenberg and Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps. Douglas won a Best Actor Oscar for his role as Gordon Gekko in the original Wall Street movie.
The film experts also predict troubled moviemaker Roman Polanski will b e among the Best Director favourites for his film The Ghost Writer - even though he’s fighting extradition from Switzerland to America for sentenc ing in a 32-year-old sex assault case.
And the early favourites for Best Film, according to the website, are D anny Boyle’s new movie 127 Hours, The Kids Are Alright, Brad Pitt and Sea n Penn’s The Tree of Life, Inception, western remake True Grit, Clint Eas twood’s The Hereafter and Johnny Depp’s movie adaptation of his late pal Hunter S. Thompson’s The Rum Diary.
