LUMLEY TIRED OF BRITAIN’S TALENT SHOW OBSESSION

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:39 pm

Veteran British actress JOANNA LUMLEY has slammed the U.K.’s obsession wi th TV talent shows - branding series such as THE X FACTOR "teeth-rottingl y dull".
The star, who appeared for more than a decade in hit comedy Absolutely Fabulous, is tired of her fellow Brits watching reality programmes.
And Lumley is urging the country’s youth to turn their back on hopes of finding easy fame - insisting the world is "crammed with opportunities".
She tells the U.K.’s Daily Telegraph, "We’ve stopped having an interest in things. We just sit there watching other people’s lives on TV. It’s n ot pitiful - it would be snotty and stupid to say that - but it’s dull. T eeth-rottingly dull. I simply can’t bear lethargy.
"And when children here want to be on The X Factor, I think, ‘Why? Don’ t just want to be famous, do something that’s really fascinating. The wor ld is crammed with opportunities.’ "All children are boiling with excitement. But if you crush it, then fe ed them filth, dullness, repetitive nothing, tell them they’ll be paid fo r doing nothing, tell them a job will be created for them, how can that c hild ever know there are horizons to see or to follow?"

DICAPRIO WORE WAIST-PINCHING CORSET TO PLAY HUGHES

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:39 pm

LEONARDO DiCAPRIO and JUDE LAW reeled in shock when they tried on their o utfits for THE AVIATOR - after the film’s costume designer demanded they wore figure-enhancing corsets.
DiCaprio played eccentric Hollywood director Howard Hughes in the 2004 movie, while Law portrayed dashing swashbuckler Errol Flynn.
And the superstar pair was left aghast when they turned up to try on th eir period outfits - Oscar-winning designer Sandy Powell ordered them to slip into the waist-decreasing garments.
She tells Britain’s Daily Express, "Everybody still thinks of him (DiCa prio) as Jack in Titanic, like a boy. But he’s a big man, surprisingly. A bout six foot. I wanted that really nipped in, poker up the back look, as slick as Fred Astaire.
"DiCaprio is naturally (a) slouchy jeans man. Completely not a suit man .. But he looks fantastic in a suit. All men’s evening wear looks much bet ter when they are standing upright, and of course men slouch. The corset provides the base for the clothing over the top. They (DiCaprio and Law) were a bit shocked at first but they want to look good so of course they did it."

ALLEY READY FOR LOVE AGAIN

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:39 pm

KIRSTIE ALLEY is keen to meet a man to fall in love with - but only if he has enough money to feel comfortable with her success.

"I went on a date about four months ago - sort of a date. I won’t do a date-date, because I don’t want to waste my time. If I meet someone and I think there’s a potential to fall in love with them, I’ll spend the time .. But I don’t even want to spend two hours with some dude that I have no interest in.
"I want someone who is really funny. I want someone who has dough (mone y). I’ve never been the dough girl - because you know what, women who mak e money are threats to men who don’t make money. And that always causes a big problem… I want the guy to be happy in his own life and love what he does and be really interesting… I want to be two fabulous people tha t go together and then you’re like, oh, my God, these people are amazing.

"This is the end of mankind, where amidst the medical and chemical wast e children forage with pigs and birds and cattle, all animals levelled to the lowest imaginable ebb due to abominable neglect… Whilst here - eng ulfed by the endless stink and the sound of children choking on dust as c ows chewed through plastic and heron swooped down with ghoulish, flesh ne cks and tarnished feathers - I could not see from where hope could be der ived." And on a visit to a school for orphans, he reflected, "I spent a lot of time hanging about alone at school and I had none of the problems these kids are facing.
