Film chiefs are said to be keen to land the Poker Face hitmaker to perf orm the lead track for the forthcoming 007 movie, which will be directed by Sam Mendes.
A source tells Britain’s The Sun, "Bond bosses are all huge Gaga fans. Her sound and sense of drama make her the top choice.
"Gaga has the look as well as the voice to tackle a thundering ballad. She’s a great songwriter too. This is perfect on every level." Previous stars to record Bond themes include Dame Shirley Bassey and Si r Paul McCartney.

RICKY MARTIN has thanked his loyal fans for their support following his a nnouncement that he is gay.
The Latino star ended years of speculation about his sexuality on Monda y (29Mar10) by revealing he’s a "proud homosexual" in a statement on his official site.
Officials at leading gay rights group the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Agains t Defamation (GLAAD) saluted his decision to ‘come out’, and his dedicate d fans have been equally as supportive.
Martin took to his Twitter.com page on Tuesday (30Mar10) to thank the p ublic for their acceptance.

British moviemaker MATTHEW VAUGHN has brushed off criticism of his contro versial new moive KICK-ASS - because he’s convinced the complaints are al l down to media hype.
The director has come under fire from critics in the U.K. who claim the film is too violent for the big screen, and that 13-year-old actress Chl oe Moretz should not have been cast as assassin Hit Girl, a character who uses bad language throughout the movie.
But Vaughn is adamant the controversy has been blown out of proportion - because he hasn’t received one complaint from anybody who has seen the film.
He tells Britain’s The One Show, "I actually don’t think there will be (complains from parents). When people see the film they’ll be surprised. I haven’t had one complaint from someone who’s seen the movie yet.
"We put comedy in (the movie) to show (the violence) isn’t real. It’s b ased on one of the most successful comic books ever written so if I didn’ t put the controversy in the fans would have killed me."

British actor JOHN THOMSON is celebrating after becoming a father for a s econd time.
The 24 Hour Party People star’s wife Samantha gave birth on Tuesday (30 Mar10) to Sophia Melody, who weighed seven pounds, seven ounces (3.36 kil ograms).
It is the second daughter for the couple, who are already parents to Ol ivia, seven.
Thomson says, "All three of us - Sam, Olivia and I - are absolutely mad e up (delighted)."

OLIVIA MUNN made a big impact on IRON MAN director JON FAVREAU in the act ion film’s sequel - he found a new role for the actress when the part she first signed up for was edited out.
The sexy brunette completed work on the upcoming blockbuster last year (09) but recently had to return to the set to shoot scenes as a completel y different character.
But Munn didn’t mind the extra work - because she was relieved to have a second chance to impress the filmmaker.
She tells Complex magazine, "As they started to edit, they realised it (the film) was becoming darker than what they’d expected and what my (ori ginal) scenes had allowed for. My parts were lighthearted and comedic.
"Jon Favreau called me and was like, ‘I’ve got good news and bad news: This is what’s happening in editing but we all really like you (and still want to include you).’ "Jon had to add another character from the Marvel universe to keep me i ncluded.
"Everyone knows who the stars are in this movie. I’m not one of them an d I understand the editing process. Some things don’t work out." But Favreau can count his blessings he kept Munn onboard - otherwise he would have faced the wrath of her angry mum: "She would have gone absolu tely ballistic… She would’ve been physically looking for Jon." Actor JAMES VAN DER BEEK has agreed to pay his estranged wife HEATHER MCC OMB $7,750 (=C2=A34,844) per month in spousal support.
The couple split last year (09) after six years of marriage and the for mer Dawson’s Creek star filed for divorce in November (09).
As part of their split agreement, Van Der Beek has now agreed to make t he monthly payments to McComb.
Papers filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court also reveal that the actor will keep the couple’s Hollywood home as well as all the movies, st ories, scripts and screenplays he wrote during their union, reports TMZ.c om.

Soccer legend DIEGO MARADONA underwent emergency surgery on Tuesday (30Ma r10) after he was mauled by his beloved pet dog.
The sports star was rushed to hospital in Buenos Aires, Argentina after his Chinese Shar Pei pooch attacked him.
Maradona received treatment after suffering bites to his face, mouth an d lip, according to Britain’s The Sun.
Despite his injuries, Maradona was released from the Buenos Aires Los A rcos clinic later that day.
His spokesperson says, "He’s already at home and he’s in good spirits."

The war of words between LINDSAY LOHAN’s estranged parents has exploded a gain after her father staged a press conference on Tuesday (30Mar10) aski ng for help to get his famous daughter into rehab.
Michael Lohan has gone public with his latest concerns for his wildchil d daughter, revealing he’s terrified the actress will die without profess ional help.
During his hastily-arranged press conference, Lohan, who has publicly s poken about his daughter’s alleged prescription drug addiction in the pas t, admitted he’s seriously worried for the actress’ health - and he’s app ealing for her to seek professional help before it’s too late.
He explained, "Lindsay’s not OK. I think we’ve seen that, we all know t hat. It’s really hard for me to do this. A lot of my family members know what’s going on.
"I’ve tried every way possible to reach out to my daughter - talking, t ext, we’ve met. And, in difficult times, she reaches out to me. It happen ed last week when she fell into the cactus. She said, ‘I need security.’ I’m her father and I love her.
"I think we all see and know what’s happening with Lindsay. I get calls from her closest friends and it’s worse than you can imagine. My daughte r needs to let me help her. I don’t want her to be a statistic. My heart goes out to people who have lost their children." But his comments have infuriated his ex-wife, Lindsay’s mother Dina, wh o insists there’s nothing wrong with the Mean Girls star.
Dina tells TMZ.com, "I have a criminal protective order against him ‘ti l 2011. He’s one year behind in child support and he’s using this as a di version.
"Lindsay is in good hands. Everything is fine. He’s trashing a child he doesn’t even see."

A man accused of stalking JENNIFER GARNER and her family has been found n ot guilty by reason of insanity.
Steven Burky pleaded no contest to two counts of felony stalking at Los Angeles County District Court on Tuesday (30Mar10), after continually ha rassing the Alias star since 2002.
Garner was awarded a permanent restraining order against Burky in 2008, which stated he should stay at least 100 yards (300 feet/91 metres) away from the actress and her family. The order was set to last until 2011.
But Burky was spotted outside the Los Angeles nursery the actress’ four -year-old daughter Violet attends in December (09), and arrested.
The 37-year-old’s aunt claimed that his obsession was the result of a p sychological condition - and court officials agreed.
A judge found Burky not guilty of the offences by reason of insanity du ring a hearing on Tuesday, and ruled that he should be sent to a state me ntal hospital.
The judge also ordered Burky to stay away from Garner, her husband Ben Affleck and their family for 10 years if he is released, reports the Asso ciated Press.

JESSE JAMES has checked himself into a treatment facility in a bid to "sa ve his marriage" amid allegations he cheated on wife SANDRA BULLOCK with a string of mistresses.
The Hollywood couple’s union was rocked earlier this month (Mar10) afte r tattoo model Michelle McGee went public with claims she romanced the ma rried reality star for 11 months, including a period when Bullock was sho oting The Blind Side on location.
A string of other women have since come forward with allegations of aff airs with James.
The TV mechanic has not admitted to cheating on his wife, but broke his silence on 18 March (10) to apologise to Bullock for the "pain and embar rassment" caused.
The actress, who walked out on James after the scandal broke, is report edly preparing to file for divorce - but he’s now seeking professional tr eatment in a last-ditch effort to save their relationship.
His representative tells People.com, "Jesse checked himself into a trea tment facility to deal with personal issues. He realised that this time w as crucial to help himself, help his family and help save his marriage." TMZ.com claims that James has checked into the Sierra Tucson facility i n Tucson, Arizona which specialises in drug, alcohol and sex addiction.
The news comes just hours after James was shamed by the online leak of a photo in which he poses as Nazi leader Adolf Hitler.
In the shot, taken before he wed Bullock, tattooed James dons a militar y cap, stares menacingly into the camera and raises one arm in the air to give the Nazi salute, while mocking Hitler’s infamous moustache with the fingers of the other hand.
And the release of the damning photo could not have come at a worst tim e for James - at the beginning of the Jewish Passover.

Jazz great BRANFORD MARSALIS is to make his debut as a Broadway composer by creating music for DENZEL WASHINGTON’s new play.
The Grammy Award-winning saxophonist will compose original music for th e first Broadway revival of Fences, the 1987 Pulitzer Prize and Tony Awar d-winning play by August Wilson.
The play, which stars Washington and Tony Award winner Viola Davis, wil l open at the end of next month (Apr10) at the Cort Theatre in New York.
Marsalis says, "What a dream come true to be making my Broadway debut c omposing music for this new production of August Wilson’s Fences.
"I had the great opportunity to sit in during rehearsals over the weeke nd and observe (director) Kenny Leon and these brilliant artists bringing this play to life. I look forward to the challenge of creating music tha t not only complements their performances, but enhances the experience fo r those sitting in the theatre."

AKON has found a new country to host the Sri Lankan concert he was forced to abandon last week (ends26Mar10) following a protest by local Buddhist s - he will now play the planned show in the Maldives.
The Smack That singer was due to perform in Colombo on 24 April (10) bu t the date was scrapped when Buddhist activists staged an angry protest a gainst a sacrilegious video outside the headquarters of the promoters - p rompting immigration authorities to cancel the star’s visa.
The activists were upset after spotting scantily-clad women dancing in front of a Buddha statue in Akon’s new video Sexy Chick.
Akon apologised for the furore, insisting he had no idea about the stat ue and was unaware he had offended religious groups. But he was still for ced to accept the date would never take place.
Now, however, the star’s planned date has been saved thanks to governme nt officials in the Maldives after they reached out to the singer with th e proposal.
Akon’s rep has yet to officially comment on the reports but President M ohamed Nasheed’s press secretary Mohamed Zuhair claims the hitmaker has a ccepted the offer to play in the Maldives.
Zuhair says, "We are very happy he is planning to come and perform." The concert is scheduled to take place a day earlier than planned, on 2 3 April (10).

Troubled country star MINDY MCCREADY is set to get legal in an effort to fight plans to release a sex tape allegedly featuring her and a mystery m an.
In Mindy McCready: Baseball Mistress, the fallen singer is said to appe ar in X-rated scenes, and tells graphic tales of her bedroom encounters w ith celebrity ex-lovers, including actor Dean Cain and country singer Ala n Jackson.
Bosses at distributor Vivid Entertainment admitted McCready knew nothin g about the release, revealing they purchased the footage from a "third p arty".
And the star has now enlisted lawyers to deal with the alleged footage leak.
McCready’s attorney, Adam Dread, tells EOnline.com, "We are not aware o f the production or release of the alleged film that seems to have surfac ed via various media reports.
"However, we can confirm that any illegally-obtained property, and/or f abricated footage, and the release thereof, will be dealt with swiftly fo llowing proper legal procedure."

JERMAINE JACKSON is keen to flush out the family ‘insiders’ who are makin g his life a misery - because they’re making up stories about the Jackson s and passing them to the media.
The last straw for the singer came when reports suggested a stun gun ha d to be taken from his teenage son Jaafar after he had been caught trying to shoot his cousin Blanket with the weapon.
Jackson has admitted the gun was purchased by the 13 year old but he ne ver used it during playtime with his relatives.
Father and son have spoken out for the first time about the stun gun co ntroversy in a new U.S. TV interview, in which Jermaine insists family ma tters are being blown out of proportion by the press.
He tells Access Hollywood, "Jaafar is a very good boy. He=E2=80=99s nev er done anything to hurt anybody." Jaafar reveals he bought the 300,000 volt stun gun online as a gift for his father, but it was confiscated when a member of the Jackson family’s security team spotted the 13 year old playing with it.
The teenager says, "I tested it on a piece of paper. Then I put it back in the box that it came with and put it in the drawer. Then the security came and took it.
"The people around us said that I had it for a few days and I was chasi ng Blanket and Paris around the house, which is not true." His concerned father adds, "There=E2=80=99s someone in the house… tha t (sic) are leaking things out (to the media) and shouldn=E2=80=99t be." He claims the same people are trying to cause division within the Jacks on family.
Jaafar adds, "They use this incident to try and say I=E2=80=99m a bad k id, which I=E2=80=99m not. I=E2=80=99ll never try to hurt my cousin at al l." His father claims, "These are people who… Michael didn=E2=80=99t even want around when he was here… It=E2=80=99s time to clean house. It=E2=80 =99s time to get rid of everything and everybody and just start anew." Blanket and his siblings, Prince Michael and Paris, have been living at the Jackson family home in Encino, California since their father died la st summer (Jun09).
The alleged stun gun incident brought Child Services officials to the J ackson compound. They found nothing wrong.
