Rapper MAX B has been granted an appeal against his 75-year jail sentence ..
The Harlem, New York hip-hop star, real name Charly Wingate, was jailed in September (09) after he was found guilty of murdering David Taylor du ring a botched hotel robbery in 2006.
Friends launched a ‘Free Max B Campaign’ in October (09) in a bid to ra ise the funds needed to hire a new legal team to fight an appeal, confide nt that would vindicate the star.
His manager Joli O’Shay tells XXLMag.com, "He’s gonna try hopefully to go back to trial, or get it a mistrial or get it time served, whatever we can do." Wingate’s accomplice, Kelvin Leerdam, was handed a life sentence and an additional 35 years behind bars for his part in the crime, and the rappe r’s ex-fiancee, Gina Conway, who testified against the two men, was later jailed for 15 years for her part in the robbery.
Prior to receiving his sentence, Max B, who co-wrote Jim Jones’ 2006 hi t We Fly High (Ballin’), had just signed a deal with Amalgam Digital Reco rds and he was in the process of releasing his debut album, Vigilante Sea son.

GERARD BUTLER is set to star as a cheeky leprechaun in an upcoming all-st ar fantasy movie.

DANIEL RADCLIFFE is embarking on a political career - he’s signed up as a n advisor to British party the Liberal Democrats, according to a U.K. rep ort.
The Harry Potter star recently revealed his political allegiance in Ame rica’s Vogue magazine.
He said, "I’ll be voting Lib Dem, without a shadow of a doubt. (Party l eader) Nick Clegg rang me and we had a good chat. He’s seriously impressi ve." Now the star is set to help Clegg broaden the party’s appeal, according to Britain’s Mail on Sunday.
A source tells the publication, "Nick called Daniel and asked for his s upport. He was only too happy to help and is planning to come out in supp ort of the party and even campaign on behalf of the Lib Dems.
"Nick is really hoping Daniel’s support will be a long-term affiliation with the party as Nick knows how important it is to be in touch with the youth of today and Daniel is a perfect tool for that. Daniel is serious about his role within the party and has already begun mentioning the Lib Dems in high-profile interviews."

LAW & ORDER: SVU star MARISKA HARGITAY stunned medics when she was diagno sed with a collapsed lung last year (09) - they couldn’t believe she was walking.
The actress landed awkwardly while performing a stunt on the hit cop dr ama and when the pain didn’t let up she decided to have it checked - mont hs later.
The diagnosis forced her to pull out of shooting for weeks, prompting T V bosses to film the show around her absence.
She says, "I thought it was a pulled rib. I’m pretty tough. When I coul dn’t breathe anymore, I got an X-ray, and they couldn’t believe I was wal king." The injury has prompted Hargitay to take more care on set.
She tells WENN, "I was doing stunts when I was pregnant. I’d fall and j ump on guys. Now there are scenes when I have to run, and I’ll only take a few steps. Everyone is super-careful of me."

In his legal papers, Modica says, "I need protection for my son. If she sees Avery, she will bring these curiosity seekers and glory hounds down on herself and Avery, totally confusing and frankly scaring him." The father insists that his son doesn’t want to be with his mother and makes a fuss when visitation with his father ends: "He fights me violentl y, and screams, yells, cries and begs not to go." He also fears that his ex may flee to Australia and take Avery with her ..
A judge has denied Modica’s request, but the concerned father plans to keep on fighting, suggesting that his ex-wife’s porn career is a threat t o their young son.
In the legal documents, he claims "pornographic shoots" have been filme d at the home McGee shares with Avery and "live WEB cam pornographic broa dcasts".
He states, "I will not continue to expose him to the kind of life Miche lle desires and seeks: full on, pornographic, party all the time." According to earlier court documents, obtained by Us Weekly magazine, M cGee has disputed Modica’s claims, insisting she spends quality time with her son, and supports herself through "artistic nudes". She’s adamant sh e does not expose Avery to the racy material.
In the previous court papers, the model acknowledges she is bipolar and on medication prescribed to treat the disorder.
The couple will meet in court on 12 May (10) to revise the terms of cus tody and visitation.

Irish singer KEITH DUFFY is quitting his role in a top British soap opera to focus on his music career with BOYZONE.
The 35 year old recently rejoined longrunning show Coronation Street to revive his role as heart-throb Ciaran McCarthy, which he first played fo r two years from 2003.
But he’s decided to leave the series again and commit to his duties wit h the Irish boyband.

SIR PAUL McCARTNEY and his ex-wife HEATHER MILLS have reportedly put thei r bitter divorce behind them to spend time together for the sake of their young daughter, according to a U.K. report.

Irish singer NADINE COYLE has dismissed rumours of a feud with her GIRLS ALOUD bandmates, insisting they are just too busy to stay in contact.
The U.K.’s biggest girl group has taken a 12-month hiatus to concentrat e on individual projects, with Coyle working on solo material in Los Ange les.
Sarah Harding sparked rumours of a rift between the 24 year old and the rest of her bandmates earlier this month (Mar10), after revealing Coyle had failed to contact her when she was visiting the U.K.
But Coyle is adamant she didn’t snub Harding, insisting she tried to co ntact her pals on her fleeting trip to England.
She tells Britain’s News of the World, "I sent them a message saying I was back but they must have been busy or something.
"I think having space from each other is a good thing. People were in e ach other’s faces all the time. It’s good to have a break so we can see o ur own friends, who have been neglected for the seven years we’ve been to gether." Coyle also admitted there are no immediate plans for Girls Aloud to hea d back into the studio: "I haven’t really spoke to anyone in the Girls Al oud camp. We don’t have any plans.

Angie Bowie married the rocker in 1970 and they welcomed Duncan Zowie H aywood Jones a year later (71).

She adds, "I saw the movie and it was marvellous. I love it. It’s even more exceptional when you consider that it’s his first major offering. Fo r me it struck this chord.
"I thought, ‘I should never have left him,’ but because David bad-mouth ed me for years there was no way that I could have any relationship with Zowie. It broke my heart. There wasn’t anything I could do and David love d it."

A concert advertising performances from LADY GAGA and ADAM LAMBERT has be en scrapped, after representatives for the stars revealed they were not b ooked to perform.
A man in Martinsburg, West Virginia was advertising a private event for a hair care launch party next month (Apr10), with tickets being sold for between $100 (=C2=A367) and $200 (=C2=A3133).
A spokesperson for Lambert revealed to TMZ.com that the gig was "not le git", while the Poker Face hitmaker’s manager insisted the singer’s inclu sion was "completely false".
Now the gig has been cancelled, according to the website. Refunds will be available from Tuesday (23Mar10).

The official ambulance report concerning MICHAEL JACKSON’s death allegedl y confirms rumours DR. CONRAD MURRAY misled medics at the scene.

Editors at Britain’s News of the World newspaper have obtained document s from the paramedics who treated Jackson on the day of his death - and t he information could prove vital for the prosecution team.
The papers appear to show Murray failed to inform medics he had given t he singer a dose of Propofol prior to his death, telling them he had only administered the sedative Lorazepam and fluids to rehydrate Jackson.

U.S. TV presenter STAR JONES is recovering after undergoing heart surgery last week (17Mar10).
The former The View talk show host was admitted to hospital on Wednesda y for a cardiac procedure relating to surgery she had 30 years ago.
Doctors pronounced the operation a success, and Jones is now recuperati ng with her loved ones.
A statement from her rep on People.com reads, "On Wednesday, March 17th , a pre-planned cardiac surgery was performed on Star Jones. This recent surgery is a follow-up to the thoracic surgery she had 30 years ago. The procedure was successful and she is recovering well with her family.
