Country star CARRIE UNDERWOOD thrilled Canadian fans at her concert in Ot tawa on Wednesday night (24Mar10) by referring to the city as her new hom etown.
The pretty American is engaged to marry Ottawa Senators ice hockey star Mike Fisher - and she’s getting ready to spend more time there.
The 27 year old told 10,000 cheering fans at Scotiabank Place, "I guess I can kind of consider this my hometown." Fisher and his brother Bud were among the crowd - and Underwood flashed a picture of the cute couple on a big screen behind her as she sang Mama ’s Song.
And when one fan screamed out, "I love Mike Fisher," the Before He Chea ts singer shot back, "No, I love Mike Fisher." There was one more surprise for the ice hockey star at the beginning of Underwood’s encore - she walked out onstage wearing a Senators jersey wi th her fiance’s name and number on the back.

Fans of tragic singer/songwriter ELLIOTT SMITH are furious about plans to release a remastered version of his debut album ROMAN CANDLE.
Smith’s friend Larry Crane has announced plans to release the album nex t month (Apr10), seven years after the star committed suicide, but the mo ve has angered died-hard devotees, who fear the remastering will tarnish the reputation of Smith’s lo-tech debut.
Crane tells Spinner.com, "I’m getting pretty much bashed around there o n message boards for something nobody’s heard. Some people are like, ‘Oh my god, how can you do that?’ "I’m not smashing it and flatlining it like a Metallica record. My firs t thought was: ‘Am I doing the right thing?’ I said to my girlfriend: ‘My God, should I be doing this?’ She said: ‘Are you making it sound better? ‘ I said: ‘I guess.’ She said: ‘How can that be wrong?’"

NOEL GALLAGHER has played his first concert since quitting OASIS - he too k the stage at London’s Royal Albert Hall on Thursday night (25Mar10) as part of a charity gig.
The musician, who walked out on the band last August (09), headlined a show to raise funds for Teenage Cancer Trust, where he performed Oasis hi ts including Don’t Look Back In Anger and Slide Away.
Former Oasis guitarist Gem Archer and keyboard player Jay Darlington pe rformed alongside Gallagher.
Fans seemed upset that the guitarist wasn’t playing any new material at the gig - one audience member shouted for a new solo song, prompting Gal lagher to respond, "We’re not playing new songs. As f**king brilliant as they are, now’s not the right time or place."

BEYONCE’s publicist is refusing to comment on new Internet reports sugges ting the singer is pregnant with her first child.
Urban gossip site Mediatakeout.com broke the news on Thursday morning ( 28Mar10), but so far there has been no statement from the Halo singer’s c amp.
The website reported the news came from a "rock solid source" and state d Beyonce was "doing fine and resting." Her publicist, Alan Nierob, has issued a firm "no comment" on the story , adding, "We don’t respond to private-matter enquiries." A representative for Beyonce’s husband Jay-Z has refused to respond to press queries.
The couple wed in April 2008.

GUNS N’ ROSES are facing legal action from the bosses of a personal manag ement company who allege the band owe them $1,870,500 (=C2=A31,247,000) f or work they carried out during a 2008 world tour.
Front Line Management executives have filed a lawsuit at Los Angeles Co unty Superior Court, claiming they were hired as frontman Axl Rose’s pers onal management team during a trek through Asia, Canada and South America ..
In the legal papers, obtained by TMZ.com, the firm’s bosses claim they were promised 15 per cent of all money the band made during the tour, but they allege they haven’t received any money.
They’re asking for at least $1.8 million (=C2=A31.2 million) in commiss ions.

Angry Hindu leaders are demanding big changes in Bollywood censorship law s, insisting Indian films are becoming vulgar and violent.
Top religious scholars have called for the immediate restructuring of t he country’s Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), claiming the mov ie watchdogs have "lost the sense of India=E2=80=99s cultural milieu".
Rajan Zed, the president of the Universal Society of Hinduism, is leadi ng the charge.
He tells WENN, "We are fully supportive of the artistic freedom and exp ression in cinema, and we do not want any unnecessary censorship, but we are highly concerned about the increasing presence of the immodest and ri sque scenes in movies, which are there simply for mercantile greed.
"The CBFC chairperson Sharmila Tagore and her team need to be retrained in what India stands for and what our moral perimeters are.
"India wanted to raise the future generations as moral and successful c itizens of tomorrow, and not as lost souls who know no moral boundaries." Zed, who hit the headlines in 2008 by protesting the use of sacred Hind u imagery in Mike Myers’ comedy The Love Guru, adds, "Indian film should be responsible and sensitive to the values and standards of society - it should be clean and healthy entertainment." Meanwhile, Bhavna Shinde of Forum for Hindu Awakening, insists, "morali ty is the strongest asset of a nation".
He adds, "The CBFC really needs to wake up and at least make an honest attempt to stop the moral degradation being caused by the reckless displa y of sex and violence in many movies."

Stars including SIMON PEGG and veteran British actress BARBARA WINDSOR tu rned out in force on Thursday (25Mar10) to celebrate the life of late act or EDWARD WOODWARD at a London memorial.
The 79 year old, best known internationally for his roles in cult horro r film The Wicker Man and cult TV series The Equalizer, passed away in ho spital in November (09) following a long battle with illness.
Pegg, who cast the actor in his 2007 film Hot Fuzz, led tributes to Woo dward at a special event at London’s Theatre Royal Haymarket, recalling t he times he would watch Woodward on TV as a youngster.
He told the star-studded crowd, "I remember thinking, ‘Could Edward Woo dward be any cooler?’" Other speakers included Woodward’s widow, actress Michelle Dotrice, and beloved British thespian Sheila Hancock, who read the poem The Owl and t he Pussycat as a tribute to her late friend.

Actress KATHERINE HEIGL regrets snubbing the Emmy Awards in 2008 and blam ing GREY’S ANATOMY writers for her decision not to enter the trophy race.
The star hit the headlines when she told reporters she wouldn’t be defe nding her Best Actress crown because she didn’t feel that the material sh e had been given on the medical drama warranted a nomination.
Her remarks upset the show’s writers - and now Heigl admits she was mea n and she could have handled the situation better.
She tells Entertainment Weekly magazine, "At the time I thought I was d oing the right thing and I wanted to be clear that I wasn’t snubbing the Emmys.
"I was just afraid that if I said, ‘No comment’, it was going to come a cross like I couldn’t be bothered… I could have more gracefully said th at without going into a private work matter. It was between me and the wr iters. I ambushed them, and it wasn’t very nice or fair.
"Everybody has bad days. I was a little defensive about my season (on t he show) because I thought I hadn’t had a great one." Heigl admits she felt compelled to personally apologise to Grey’s Anato my creator Shonda Rhimes almost as soon as she’d made her remarks.
She adds, "I was just like, ‘Look, that was obnoxious. I apologise.’ Sh e was like… , ‘I get it’." Heigl has since quit the drama to concentrate on being a mum to her ado pted South Korean daughter Naleigh.

A Los Angeles-based photographer who has been linked to the JESSE JAMES c heating scandal now insists her alleged romance with SANDRA BULLOCK’s hus band has been blown out of proportion.
Reports suggested Brigitte Daguerre claimed she was the third woman to have a sexual relationship with James while he was married to Bullock.
But she insists the story has gone too far.
In a statement released online, she says, "I was not his mistress. We w ere friends. This thing has been blown (way) out of proportion and I wann a be left alone." Oscar winner Bullock walked out on James last week (ends19Mar10) after model and porn star Michelle McGee first made allegations the TV mechanic had been unfaithful.
James apologised to his wife and his family for the "pain and embarrass ment" the story caused, but then another woman, Melissa Smith, alleged sh e enjoyed a series of intimate encounters with James at his West Coast Ch oppers headquarters in California between 2006 and 2009.
And now there’s another mistress about to come forward. TV news show Ex tra claims the mystery woman has hired top attorney Gloria Allred to repr esent her. Allred currently represents two of the women who claimed to ha ve had relations with Tiger Woods.

ROBERT DE NIRO’s driver allegedly doused a paparazzo with pepper spray du ring an altercation at New York’s LaGuardia Airport on Thursday (28Mar10) The actor was not present when the driver turned on the videographer wh o had been following De Niro’s every move upon the star’s arrival at the airport.
According to the New York Post, the man and the paparazzo hurled verbal abuse at each other and their spat ended with the driver spraying the ca meraman in the face.
The videographer claims the alleged act was unprovoked.
As authorities investigate the incident, De Niro’s publicist, Stan Rose nfield, suggests the videographer is to blame.
He tells news show Entertainment Tonight, "Isn’t this the same photogra pher that had a problem with Woody Harrelson? If so, you do the math." Harrelson attacked a paparazzo at the same airport last year (09). He l ater released a statement claiming he thought the guy was "a zombie". (KL

Tragic actor COREY HAIM’s ex-fiancee has broken her silence about the dea d star, revealing she knew the LOST BOY was heading for a terrible end.
Cindy Guyer admits Haim was "such a mess" and she had to end her romanc e with the actor when she realised she couldn’t help him anymore.
Guyer reveals she booked her then-boyfriend into California’s Betty For d Clinic in the hope that Haim would clean himself up, but when he quit r ehab after just eight days, she knew the fallen star was doomed.
She tells Life & Style magazine, "We almost knew it was going to happen …. He had a devil inside him, and the devil was the drug." The model and actress, who got engaged to Haim in 2000 after a whirlwin d romance, adds, "He got violent and temperamental. He was doing a lot of drugs.
"I tried my best to help him. It=E2=80=99s very, very sad." Haim died from an apparent drug overdose at his mother’s Los Angeles ho me on 10 March (10).

ELTON JOHN will celebrate the life of HIV/AIDS victim RYAN WHITE with a c harity concert in Indiana.
The Rocket Man recently spoke out about the tragic teenager, crediting his family for giving the star the determination to give up drugs followi ng the youngster’s death in 1990.
White contracted the disease from a contaminated blood transfusion and John held a bedside vigil for him in the last week of his life.
He told Parade magazine, "Every time I stopped taking drugs, after a pe riod of time I’d go back. It got worse and worse… What finally opened m y eyes was Ryan White.
"I read in a magazine that Ryan was not allowed to go to school because he had AIDS. Firebombs were being put in his family’s letter box. I was enraged. I helped the White family move. I spent the last week of Ryan’s life in 1990 with him in an Indianapolis hospital.
"There was something wonderful in this family - they were losing their son, yet they were still able to forgive the hatred of others. I thought, ‘Look at me. I have everything I want, and I complain about a hotel room because I don’t like the wallpaper? What happened to me? I was a nice, d ecent boy, and now I’m a self-obsessed drug addict.’ So I got sober." Now John, who also performed at White’s funeral, will pay tribute to hi m by headlining a fundraiser at Butler University in the 18 year old’s na tive Indiana.
Profits from the 28 April (10) concert will benefit the Indianapolis Ch ildren’s Museum and John’s AIDS foundation.

Sri Lanka’s tourism minister has expressed his disappointment over the ca ncellation of AKON’s tour of the country following public outrage about a sacrilegious video.
The R&B singer was due to perform in Colombo next month (24Apr10) but B uddhist activists’ angry protests outside the headquarters of the promote rs earlier this week (begs22Mar10) prompted immigration authorities to ca ncel the star’s visa.
The activists were upset after spotting scantily-clad women dancing in front of a Buddha statue in Akon’s new video Sexy Chick.
Akon has since apologised for the video oversight, insisting he had no idea about the statue, and he scrapped the Sri Lankan leg of his global t our.
But tourism chief Achala Jagoda regrets the way the situation was handl ed because the sold-out show would have been good for the economy.
He says, "We were expecting about 5,000 to 6,000 tourists from India, t he Maldives and Malaysia to watch the show. The mileage we would have got would have been priceless." Jagoda accepts it would have been wrong for the government to grant Ako n a work permit amid the allegations, but insists "this does not mean tha t we have a Taliban-style Buddhist following in Sri Lanka".
He adds, "Some parts of Akon’s video were not culturally suitable for u s."
