PRINCE’s decision to cancel a 2008 concert in Ireland just days before th e event will cost him a massive $3 million (=C2=A32 million), it has been revealed.
The musician was hit with a lawsuit from bosses at Irish promotions com pany MCD after he reportedly pulled out of a show at Dublin’s Croke Park in June 2008 just 10 days beforehand.
The star’s legal team agreed to settle the case out of court at a heari ng in Dublin, Ireland last month (Feb10), with details of the agreement k ept private.
But MCD bosses took the star back to court alleging he failed to hand o ver the settlement sum following the February (10) hearing.
The case returned to Dublin’s High Court on Friday (26Mar10), when a ju dge ruled against Prince and made the details of the agreement public in a bid to force the star to comply with the ruling, according to the Irish Times.
High Court Justice Peter Kelly also declared the order is aimed solely at Prince, not his representatives at the William Morris agency, who were absolved of liability in the case.
Maurice Collins, a lawyer for MCD, has vowed to take the case to the Eu ropean courts if Prince fails to hand over the money.

JAMES FRANCO’s creative writing course has paid off - the actor has signe d a deal to publish a collection of short stories.
The Spider-Man star studied English at UCLA in California and later enr olled at New York’s Columbia University in 2008 to take a master’s writin g program.
He’s finished up his studies and now one of his tales, titled Just Befo re The Black, has been published in U.S. magazine Esquire.
Franco has also signed a deal with New York book company Scribner to pu blish a full collection of his work in a tome called Palo Alto, which wil l hit stores in October (10).

TORI SPELLING has dismissed reports her marriage to DEAN MCDERMOTT is in trouble after the couple was seen arguing in leaked footage from their ne w reality TV show.
The former Beverly Hills, 90210 actress stars in Tori & Dean: Home Swee t Hollywood with her longterm partner, with whom she has two young childr en.
The relationship was rumoured to have run into trouble after previously unseen tapes from their show were obtained by U.S. magazine Life & Style .. A representative for CHARLIE SHEEN has dismissed reports two episodes of his hit show TWO AND A HALF MEN have been axed because of the actor’s rec ent stay in rehab.
The star, who has a history of drug abuse, checked into a recovery faci lity last month (Feb10) as a "preventative measure" following his Christm as Day (25Dec09) bust-up with wife Brooke Mueller.
Producers were forced to put filming of the TV sitcom on hold while She en received treatment.
The 44 year old left rehab earlier this month (Mar10) and headed back t o work on 16 March (10), but a series of online reports recently suggeste d TV bosses had been forced to cut the series’ run from 24 episodes to 22 to accommodate the time lost while Sheen was away.
But Sheen’s rep, Stan Rosenfield, insists the actor was only contracted to film 22 shows and was never obliged to work on the "bonus" episodes.
He says, "Nothing was cancelled. The other two were called bonus episod es; none contractual." Sheen’s altercation with Mueller has left him facing a string of felony domestic violence charges, to which he has pleaded not guilty, and he is due to stand trial later this year (10).

SANDRA BULLOCK has cancelled another public appearance in the wake of her husband’s cheating scandal - she’s scrapped plans to attend the upcoming Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards.
The Oscar-winning actress has been keeping a low profile since a U.S. t abloid expose last week (beg22Mar10), in which tattooed model Michelle Mc Gee claimed to have had an affair with her husband Jesse James.
Several other women have also come forward with similar allegations.
Bullock cancelled her trip to London for the U.K. premiere of The Blind Side after news of the scandal first broke, and subsequently scrapped he r planned red carpet appearance in Berlin for the movie’s official launch in Germany.

But a rep for Bullock confirms to People.com that the actress will no l onger be attending.

British singer CORINNE BAILEY RAE has praised STEVIE WONDER’s humility in the face of his success - insisting the blind superstar has been shielde d from the "trappings of fame" by his disability.

And she’s convinced Wonder, who has been blind since birth, has not bee n affected by superstardom in the same way as other celebrities.

AMY WINEHOUSE is so broody she wants to start a family, according to her father MITCH.
The Rehab hitmaker has recently reunited with her ex-husband Blake Fiel der Civil, who she divorced last July (09) on the grounds of Winehouse’s adultery while he was incarcerated.

DAMON ALBARN was delighted when he recruited BEE GEES star BARRY GIBB to sing on GORILLAZ’s new album - but was left disappointed when the veteran star cancelled his studio session at the last minute.
The former Blur frontman hired a string of guest musicians to appear on his band’s latest record, Plastic Beach, including rapper Snoop Dogg, ve teran rocker Lou Reed and The Clash stars Paul Simonon and Mick Jones.
Albarn admits he was ecstatic when Gibb also agreed to join in, but aft er finally getting the singer to the studio to record his vocals he backe d out because of illness.
He tells Australian radio station Triple J, "He was doing it then he wa sn’t doing it then he was doing it again. He was going into a studio, it was a studio in Miami, then he got to the studio and decided he had an ea rache and that was the end of that."

Rapper T.I. will have to adhere to a strict curfew when he is finally all owed home on Friday (26Mar10), after a post-prison stint in a halfway hou se.
The Live Your Life hitmaker, real name Clifford Harris, Jr., was jailed last year (09) on charges of weapons possession stemming from a 2007 arr est.
He was transferred from a prison in Arkansas to a halfway house near hi s home in Atlanta, Georgia in December (09), after serving seven months b ehind bars.
The hip-hop star will be sent home on Friday, but has to spend 23 days on supervised release and will have to adhere to an 11pm curfew every nig ht - unless he is performing, in which case he will be allowed to stay ou t until 1am.
T.I. will also complete 400 hours of community service and serve three years probation, according to TMZ.com.

DUFF MCKAGAN has vowed not to focus on GUNS N’ ROSES’ troubles in his upc oming autobiography - insisting the book won’t be a "tell-all".
The band underwent several line-up changes over the years - drummer Ste ver Adler was fired in 1990 after his drug habit spiralled out of control and guitarist Slash quit the band in 1996 following a series of rows wit h frontman Axl Rose.
McKagan left in 1997 and went onto form Loaded in 2000 before re-teamin g with Slash to create Velvet Revolver in 2002.
But he’s determined not to lift the lid on the tensions between his for mer bandmates in his new book.
In his column on SeattleWeekly.com, he writes, "I want to make clear th at this book is not a GN’R (Guns N’ Roses) ‘tell-all’ or some other such ‘rock’ book. Sure, I will touch on all of that, as it is part of my story , but only just a part of it.
"It will be a story of an ordinary guy who met with extraordinary circu mstances, and the circumnavigation through these situations. If you have been a reader of my column, then you get the general idea of my headspace .. I WILL be writing this myself, thick or thin." The book is set for release next year (11).

The man accused of bombarding British model SOPHIE ANDERTON with "alarmin g and distressing" phone messages has been found guilty of harassment.
The reality TV star alleged Paul Davis swamped her cell phone with text messages and calls between January and April last year (09), leaving her scared to go out.
He pleaded not guilty to one charge of harassment, insisting his bipola r disorder left him unable to account for his actions.
But at a hearing at West London Magistrates’ Court on Thursday (25Mar10 ), District Judge Andrew Sweet rejected the argument on the grounds that Davis was recovering from the condition when he sent the messages.
Davis was found guilty of harassment, but escaped jail when the judge h anded him an 18-month conditional discharge.
He was also ordered not to contact the model.
Speaking outside the court, Davis says, "They were loony (crazy) texts sent when I wasn’t taking my medicine and in a manic place. I believed I was trying to help her because I had read in the papers that she was very troubled."

Actor MATT DAMON has branded the concept of marriage "a ridiculous idea" - because his wife drives him "crazy".
The Bourne Identity star wed Luciana Barroso in 2005 and the couple wen t on to have two daughters, Gia and Isabella. Damon also became a stepdad to Barroso’s daughter Alexia, from a previous relationship, when the pai r married.
Damon has branded the former bartender "the best thing that ever happen ed to me" and admits he can’t imagine marrying another woman if they ever split.
But the actor confesses his wife can infuriate him at times.
He tells The Hollywood Reporter, "Somebody said to me recently, ‘Wow, y ou really love marriage,’ and I said, ‘No, I think marriage is ridiculous ; I think it’s a totally ridiculous idea.’ "I love being married to my wife - she’s the best thing that ever happe ned to me, but if she ever left me, I wouldn’t do it again. Because it’s crazy - to spend your life with one person and not be totally driven craz y."

U.S. reality TV show star DAVID RAINEY has been arrested on suspicion of drink-driving following a near-fatal car accident in California.
The Real World: San Francisco star, known as Puck, and his eight-year-o ld son, Bogart, were both seriously injured when his vehicle swerved off a road and slammed into an embankment last Friday (19Mar10).
They were airlifted to hospital in San Diego, and Rainey was reportedly treated for broken bones in his feet, hands and neck, as well as a fract ured sternum and clavicle. Bogart was left with bruised internal organs a nd damage to his liver, but was discharged on Wednesday (24Mar10), while his father remained in the hospital facing several operations.
And now cops have visited Rainey and arrested him on suspicion of drivi ng under the influence (DUI) at the time of the crash, according to the A ssociated Press. The agency reports he is facing charges of DUI, child en dangerment and driving without a license.

SIENNA MILLER is planning a second aid trip to earthquake-ravaged Haiti a fter a visit earlier this month (Mar10) left her feeling like she had stu mbled onto a "horror film set".
The Alfie star jetted off to the country in her role as an ambassador f or the International Medical Corps (IMC), an organisation which aims to g ive Haitians the means to take care of themselves following January’s (10 ) tremor.
The actress was stunned to see families still living on the streets two months on from the disaster, and she’s urging the U.K. public to donate to the IMC’s drive to help locals rebuild their lives before it’s too lat e.
Miller tells British morning show GMTV, "The problems are really begini ng now - the monsoon and hurricanes are coming and the people are more vu lnerable than ever, so we’re trying to keep funding and awareness coming.
"You can’t even imagine what it was like - absolute devastation… Noth ing looks real, that’s what’s shocking - it’s like something from a horro r film set. Enormous buildings, piled on each other and you know amongst the rubble there are bodies that won’t be recovered and just rows of peop le living on the streets. It was the poorest country in the Western world before the earthquake and now it’s 10-fold. It’s shocking.
"There is an amazing spirit among the people and great work being done - but they need more help. I think over a million people are living in te nts, so when the monsoons and hurricanes come, they could easily be washe d away. This is why we’re trying to move camps in vulnerable areas and re build this place." And the star has vowed to visit Haiti again in April (10) to see how th e organisation’s ongoing support helps locals.
She adds, "I’ll be going back in a month for a longer period of time. I mcworldwide.org is a great place to donate - I can guarantee the money do es get through."

The actress at the centre of the alleged child abuse scandal on the set o f 1980s TV show HEY DAD! has flown back to her native Australia to make a n official complaint to police.
Sarah Monahan, who was nine years old when she joined the show, recentl y went public with shocking claims that an unnamed man molested her while she was a child star on the Australian series.
The allegations sparked a media frenzy Down Under, and another unnamed woman reportedly came forward with allegations that she was also abused o n set.
The 32 year old has been living in Los Angeles in recent years, but has now flown back to Australia to take her case to the police.
She tells the country’s Channel Nine TV network, "As soon as people sai d ‘you need to go to the police’ I was at the airport within three hours and caught the first flight out. We’re headed straight to the police." Detective Superintendent John Kerlatec, of the New South Wales Sex Crim es Squad, confirmed police have already started collating information and are ready to take a statement from Monahan.
He adds, "A number of police have been assigned and are ready to take u p any follow up investigations or inquiries that need to be done. Police need to see detailed allegations by any victims to determine what crime o r crimes have been committed."
