WOOD’S ‘DRUNKEN BUST-UP WITH LATEST LOVER’

Rocker RONNIE WOOD’s latest relationship is in trouble - he was reportedl y attacked by his new Brazilian lover after a drunken bust-up.
The Rolling Stone’s bassist left his wife of 23 years, Jo, in 2008 afte r embarking on an affair with Russian cocktail waitress Ekaterina Ivanova ..
He moved out of the family residence to set up home with Ivanova, but t heir relationship ended after he was cautioned by police for assaulting t he 21 year old in a street in Surrey, England, in December (09).
Wood quickly moved on to Brazilian polo coach Ana Araujo earlier this y ear (10), but the star’s hard-boozing ways have caused friction between t he pair.
According to Britain’s The Sun newspaper, 30-year-old Araujo lashed out at Wood after she caught him drinking heavily behind her back, and left the star with a black eye and a bloodied lip following an altercation at his Surrey home on Wednesday (24Mar10).
A source tells the publication, "Ana had been keeping him off the bottl e. She rumbled him on Wednesday having a drink and an argument escalated quickly. He was calling her all sorts of names for criticising his drinki ng and she snapped. He crossed the wrong woman." Reporters at the newspaper claim Wood called ex-wife Jo following the f ight, but she was unsympathetic.
An insider adds, "She’s (Jo) sick of his nonsense and told him to get a grip. He’s a sad old man."

SKIN-WHITENING CREAMS FOUND AT JACKSON’S HOME

Cops found a huge array of skin-whitening creams when they searched MICHA EL JACKSON’s home after his death, according to newly released documents.
Following a legal motion by The Associated Press, details from the sear ch warrants used to enter the Thriller star’s California mansion followin g his death in June last year (09) have been released and show that detec tives discovered dozens of the skin-whitening creams on the property.
The King of Pop’s reps had long denied the black star used skin-lighten ing products to turn white, insisting he suffered from pigment altering c ondition vitiligo.
The warrants also show that four vials of highly potent anaesthetic Pro pofol were found during the searches.
The late star’s doctor at the time of his demise, Dr. Conrad Murray, st ands accused of administering Propofol to the King of Pop minutes before he went into cardiac arrest and died.
Murray has pleaded not guilty to one count of involuntary manslaughter.

BRITISH ACTOR HASSAN CAUTIONED OVER GYM ASSAULT

Brit actor TAMER HASSAN has been cautioned by police after attacking his personal trainer over a broken watch.
The Business star, a former boxer, returned to his gym after leaving hi s luxury =C2=A312,000 (=C2=A38,000) timepiece in a locker during a workou t.
Upon finding the winding mechanism had broken, he flew into a rage and aimed his anger at trainer Cole Kemp.
According to the fitness expert, the star headbutted and punched him un til three gym staff members dragged him off.
He was arrested at the exercise centre in Beckenham, south England on W ednesday (24Mar10) and cautioned for assault, according to Britain’s The Sun.
Kemp tells the newspaper, "He was like a man possessed, screaming ‘I’ll have you all.’ No one knows what happened to his watch."

SEVIGNY: ‘BIG LOVE COMMENTS WERE TAKEN OUT OF CONTEXT’

Actress CHLOE SEVIGNY has apologised for blasting the latest season of he r TV drama BIG LOVE as "awful", insisting her comments were misinterprete d.
The star, who plays a fundamentalist Mormon wife in the hit U.S. series , risked the wrath of TV bosses when she appeared to take aim at the show ’s writers.
She was reported as saying, "It was awful this season, as far as I=E2=80 =99m concerned. I=E2=80=99m not allowed to say that! …I feel like it ki nd of got away from itself…
"I mean, I love the show, I love my character, I love the writing, but I felt like they were really pushing it this last season. And with nine e pisodes, I think they were just squishing too much in… But I hope the f ans will stick with us and tune in next year. There=E2=80=99s a lot of pe ople who really love this season, surprisingly. God, I=E2=80=99m going to get in so much trouble." But Sevigny has moved quickly to play down her remarks, blaming the med ia for blowing the situation out of proportion.
She tells Entertainment Weekly, "I feel pretty terrible. I feel like wh at I said was taken out of context."

COLLINS: ‘I WAS FORCED TO TAKE COCAINE’

DYNASTY legend JOAN COLLINS is strictly anti-drugs - after she was "force d" to snort cocaine during her 1980s heyday.
The British actress was introduced to a drug "pusher" 26 years ago and became pals with him, but was unaware of his sordid habit.
And Collins vowed never to abuse her body with narcotics again after sh e was enticed to take highly-addictive cocaine - and couldn’t sleep for 4 8 hours.
In an interview for Piers Morgan’s Life Stories on U.K. TV, the star re veals, "I am so anti-drugs. Once somebody forced me to take some coke and it was just so horrible. I would never take drugs, I never believe in ab using myself like that, ever." In the TV chat, to be aired in Britain on Saturday night (27Mar10), Col lins also speaks candidly about aborting her child with former lover Warr en Beatty when she was aged just 23.
She says, "We went to a place in New Jersey and I did it. But like ever ything in life, I said, ‘OK, that’s it, close the book, next period of my life.’"

WINSLET IS ‘FINE’ FOLLOWING SPLIT, SAYS SISTER

KATE WINSLET is "bearing up" after her split from husband SAM MENDES, acc ording to the star’s sister ANNA.

However, despite the rumours, Winslet’s family insists the Oscar-winner is adjusting well to single life, with her actress sister Anna revealing the family is regularly in touch to offer their support.

BOYLE MAKES AN OFFER ON NEW HOME

Singing sensation SUSAN BOYLE is splashing out on a new house in her nati ve Scotland after cashing in a bumper $6 million ($4 million) pay cheque.
The star, who shot to fame after appearing on Simon Cowell’s reality TV show Britain’s Got Talent, has made an offer on a five bedroom, three ba throom riverside property in Blackburn, West Lothian.
The house, which was on the market for $450,000 (=C2=A3300,000), will b e a significant upgrade from her modest three bedroom place, which was br oken into in January (10).
Boyle was recently handed her first multi-million royalty cheque from t he success of her debut album I Dreamed A Dream, which became the biggest -selling CD of 2009 in the U.K. and has sold more than 8.5 million copies worldwide.
The payout has come just in time for Boyle’s birthday - the singer turn s 49 on 1 April (10).

JACKSON PROSECUTORS INVESTIGATED MURRAY’S GIRLFRIEND

Los Angeles prosecutors investigating the death of MICHAEL JACKSON have b een examining emails between DR. CONRAD MURRAY and his girlfriend in a bi d to collect evidence against the physician, newly-released documents hav e shown.
Murray stands accused of administering the powerful anaesthetic Propofo l to the King of Pop minutes before he went into cardiac arrest and died last June (09).
He has pleaded not guilty to one count of manslaughter.
But Murray wasn’t the only person under police investigation - new docu ments released on Friday (26Mar10) reveal cops obtained a search warrant against Nicole Alvarez, the mother of Murray’s baby, to gain access to he r email account.
Prosecutors believed Murray could have shared vital information about h is treatment of Jackson and his death to Alvarez, reports TMZ.com.
In the warrant, authorities say, "During the course of the investigatio n (the lead detective) also learned that Dr. Murray made numerous telepho ne calls to Nicole Alvarez leading up to and including the day Jackson di ed." The affidavit includes discussion of a "shipment", believed to be Propo fol, which Murray allegedly had delivered from a Las Vegas pharmacy to Al varez’s home in Santa Monica, California.

BONO IS WORST INVESTOR IN AMERICA

Irish rocker BONO has been named and shamed as the Worst Investor in Amer ica for his backing of troubled smart telephone maker Palm Inc.
The U2 frontman and bosses at his private-equity business Elevation Par tners ploughed nearly $500 million (=C2=A3312.5 million) into the debt-ri ddled firm, the maker of Treo and Centro smart phones, in December 2008.
But his gamble has cost him dear and the downturn in the global economy has caused stock shares in Palm Inc. to plummet 35 per cent from January (10) to February (10).
And the huge loss has landed Bono the dishonour by financial journal 24 /7 Wall Street.
Editors highlight "an unprecedented string of disastrous investments wh ich even bad luck could not explain" as the reason for choosing Bono, add ing that California-based Elevation Partners is "arguably the worst run i nstitutional fund of any size in the United States".

STEIN’S MURDERER SWITCHES LAWYERS

The woman convicted of murdering former punk rock manager LINDA STEIN has been granted permission to change lawyers after her family was accused o f threatening her defence team.
Natavia Lowery was expected to be sentenced for the 2007 killing on Mon day (22Mar10), but the hearing in New York was postponed until April (10) after her stepfather Daniel Walsh lashed out in court.
Walsh was led from the court in handcuffs and charged with contempt aft er expressing his anger at being unable to change his daughter’s defence team.
But his wish was granted on Friday (26Mar10) when a court heard how Low ery’s relatives had been making "inappropriate" and "threatening" comment s to her lawyers - prompting a Manhattan judge to allow her a change in r epresentatives.
Paul Brenner has been appointed as Lowery’s new lawyer and is expected to begin work on appealing her conviction.
The 28 year old was found guilty of second-degree murder and 20 counts of stealing $30,000 (=C2=A318,750) from the Ramones manager-turned-real e state mogul in February (10) after suffering a meltdown and beating Stein to death.
She is facing a possible 25 year sentence when she returns to court nex t month (Apr10).

RECOVERING DOMINGO GOES BACK TO WORK

Spanish opera star PLACIDO DOMINGO has returned to work in Los Angeles, j ust weeks after undergoing surgery for cancer.
The tenor, 69, went under the knife at New York’s Mount Sinai Hospital earlier this month (Mar10) to have a cancerous polyp removed from his col on.
He has been spending his time recuperating in Barcelona, Spain and more recently Acapulco, Mexico, but he flew to California on Thursday (25Mar1 0) where he resumed his post as director of the Los Angeles Opera Company ..
Domingo’s first job will be organising rehearsals for a production of S imon Boccanegra at Italy’s La Scala in April (10), reports the Los Angele s Times.

BEYONCE BABY REPORTS ‘UNTRUE’

A representative for BEYONCE’s record label has dismissed reports the sup erstar is pregnant with her first child, putting an end to the baby specu lation.
Gossip website MediaTakeOut.com first broke the rumour on Thursday (28M ar10), sparking a flurry of reports online.
The news was fuelled by the Irreplaceable hitmaker’s publicist, Alan Ni erob, who issued a firm "no comment" on the story, adding, "We don’t resp ond to private-matter enquiries." A spokesperson for her husband Jay-Z also refused to answer press queri es but now a Sony Music representative has reached out to RollingStone.co m to insist the reports are "untrue".
The couple wed in April 2008.

KARDASHIAN BAFFLED BY BRIDGE ROMANCE REPORTS

HAMILTON’S CAR IMPOUNDED AFTER ‘OVER-EXUBERANT’ DRIVING

NICOLE SCHERZINGER’s racer boyfriend LEWIS HAMILTON has had his luxury ca r impounded by Australian police after he was pulled over for reckless dr iving.
The Formula 1 star found himself in trouble with authorities in Victori a on Friday night (26Mar10) - just hours after he set the fastest qualify ing time for the Australian Grand Prix at 1 minute, 26.801 seconds - when he was caught performing a "burnout with smoking tyres and a fishtail" m etres away from a police van.
His Mercedes-Benz was impounded and the 25 year old will face a charge by summons with improper use of a vehicle, according to the Herald Sun.
Policeman Scott Woodford tells the newspaper, "It would have been fair to say he was fairly disappointed." Hamilton has now apologised for his actions, admitting he made a "silly mistake".
He says, "This evening, I was driving in an over-exuberant manner and, as a result, was stopped by the police. What I did was silly, and I want to apologise for it." Hamilton previously had his vehicle taken away by cops in France in 200 7 after he was caught speeding.

WAHLER ‘ASHAMED’ BY DRINKING ARRESTS

Disgraced reality TV star JASON WAHLER feels extremely "ashamed" after he was arrested again last week (19Mar10) for allegedly driving under the i nfluence (DUI).
The former The Hills star was taken into custody in Newport Beach, Cali fornia last Friday, just days after finding himself in trouble with polic e in Mexico following a bar brawl.
It was his latest alcohol-related arrest in recent years - he was buste d in Seattle, Washington last year (09) and charged with assault and mino r drinking following a scuffle, while he was ordered to attend rehab in 2 008 after punching a tow truck driver in the face. He was also jailed in 2007 for fighting in the lobby of a Seattle hotel.
Wahler is disappointed by his own bad behaviour and has apologised to f ans of the popular MTV series.
He tells Usmagazine.com, "I am very, very ashamed of everything. I am v ery sorry for everything that’s happened." Wahler claims he "lost contact" with his Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) spon sor after getting "distracted", adding, "(I) started falling out of the p rogramme… It was one drink or a few. It wasn’t a binge or anything." He resumed his sobriety meetings on Wednesday (24Mar10) and Wahler is d etermined to kick his addiction - before it kills him.
He says, "I never want to drink again. If I don=E2=80=99t stay sober. I am not going to have a life."

TRIBECA BOSSES STAND BY TRANSGENDER COMEDY

Organisers of ROBERT DE NIRO’s New York film festival have stood by their decision to include a transgender comedy in its line-up, despite protest s from gay rights campaigners.
Ticked-Off Trannies with Knives, about a group of transgender women who seek revenge after being beaten up, is due to be screened at the Tribeca Film Festival in April (10).
Its inclusion has angered members of the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Again st Defamation (GLAAD), who are offended by the use of the word "trannies" and claim the film wrongly represents transgender females.
But festival executives have refused to bow to pressure from GLAAD and are sticking by plans to show director Israel Luna’s film at the upcoming event.
In a statement, bosses say the Tribeca board of directors is "proud of its ongoing commitment to bring diverse voices and stories to its audienc es".
The festival was founded by De Niro, Jane Rosenthal and Craig Hatkoff i n 2002 in a bid to rejuvenate downtown Manhattan following the 9/11 terro rist attacks.
This year’s (10) event kicks off with the world premiere of Shrek Forev er After on 21 April and runs until 2 May.

OLSEN’S WIDOW REFILES ASBESTOS LAWSUIT

The widow of MERLIN OLSEN has amended a lawsuit the couple filed while th e LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE star was still alive, holding studio bosses responsible for the actor developing a rare form of cancer.
Former American football star Olsen died earlier this month (Mar10) aft er losing his battle with mesothelioma at the age of 69.
Prior to his death, he and his wife Susan had filed suit against 38 def endants, alleging they had exposed the actor to asbestos, which reportedl y led to the development of his cancer.
Susan Olsen has now resubmitted the legal papers to include executives at NBC Studios and 20th Century Fox Film Corp., as well as paint manufact urers Sherwin-Williams, reports TMZ.com.
She claims Olsen was exposed to the deadly asbestos while he worked on TV and movie sets and she is seeking unspecified damages.

FRAIL AND INJURED HOPPER HONOURED ON HOLLYWOOD WALK OF FAME

An ailing DENNIS HOPPER shocked fans when he turned up to unveil his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Friday (26Mar10) - he was sporting band ages on his head and hand.
The Easy Rider star is suffering from terminal prostate cancer and repo rtedly has just weeks to live, but he made an appearance outside the Egyp tian Theatre, where he was honoured with the 2,403rd star on Hollywood Bo ulevard.
Viggo Mortensen, Hopper’s co-star in The Indian Runner (1991) and Boili ng Point (1993), was on hand to pay tribute to the movie legend, who also posed with pal Jack Nicholson.
But it was Hopper’s new injuries which drew the most attention - the ac tor reveals he fell outside his home after confusing a paparazzo for a fr iend.
He says, "I thought I recognised the voice, so I kept walking and turne d around but I didn’t see the little ridgeline in the road and I took a t errible fall because I have no muscle.
"So I fell directly on my face, and I had my glasses in my hand. I got pretty screwed up." Hopper, 73, has been battling other personal issues on top of his healt h problems - he filed for divorce from his wife Victoria Duffy in January (10) and received a restraining order against her in February (10), afte r his doctor insisted her presence in the marital home was "hampering his cancer care".
