The lawyers working on behalf of MICHAEL JACKSON’s estate have filed cour t papers dismissing claims the late King of Pop left behind a secret wife when he died last year (09).
Following the star’s passing in June (09), Nona Paris Lola Ankhesenamun filed suit insisting she was the Thriller singer’s partner and demanded that all of his "properties, monies and assets" be transferred to her.
The London-based woman had filed a lawsuit the year before his death (0
for a legal separation from the King of Pop in December (08), and had earlier claimed she carried the pop star’s children, Paris, Prince Michae l and Prince Michael II.
In 2006, Ankhesenamun also demanded ownership of Jackson’s Neverland Ra nch, child support payments and shared custody of the pop star’s three ch ildren. The suit was rejected in 2006 and again in 2007, with a judge tel ling her to make a better presentation of her evidence.
Now, as two separate spousal claims against the Jackson estate are set to be heard in courtrooms next week (begs29Mar10), the late star’s lawyer s have filed documents insisting there was no "surviving wife" at the tim e of Jackson’s demise.
In papers obtained by TMZ.com, the lawyers say, "Michael Joseph Jackson did not have a surviving spouse. He was not married at the time of his d eath."
