WONDERLAND RULES GLOBAL BOX OFFICE

TIM BURTON’s ALICE IN WONDERLAND continues to work its magic on movie fan s - the film has topped the global box office for the fourth consecutive week.
The Disney fantasy grossed $46 million (=C2=A330.7 million) from audien ces worldwide at the weekend (26-28Mar10), taking its profits outside of the U.S. to $363 million (=C2=A3242 million) and its total global gross t o $656.1 million (=C2=A3437.4 million).
Gerard Butler’s animated Viking adventure How To Train Your Dragon debu ts at two with $31 million (=C2=A320.7 million) from 35 markets, after a weekend which saw the movie slay the competition in the U.S. box office c hart to take the number one position with $43.3 million (=C2=A328.87 mill ion).
Meanwhile, Leonardo DiCaprio’s psychological thriller Shutter Island la nds in third place in the global box office with $10 million (=C2=A36.7 m illion); sci-fi epic Avatar still draws fans in fourth position, and Sand ra Bullock’s Oscar-winning drama The Blind Side rounds out the top five.
