PALTROW GETS KOSHER FOR PASSOVER
GWYNETH PALTROW has turned kosher food guru to help fellow Jews enjoy a d elicious Passover.
In the latest post on her Goop.com lifestyle website, the actress has o ffered up a series of recipes and recommendations in a bid to make sure ‘ Kosher for Passover’ is a tasty alternative.
She writes, "Keeping kosher will be easy this year now that I have disc overed Claudia Roden’s brilliant book, The Book of Jewish Food. I have to say that irrespective of religion, culture, or background, this is one o f the best books I’ve ever cooked out of.
"The flavors are outstanding and all of the recipes I have tried have b een simple to prepare and quick. I included some of my favorites, which a re great for Passover, or just any old day for that matter.
"In keeping with our theme, we have two different versions of matzo bre i for brunch and FINALLY, we have found two gorgeous kosher wines from th e Napa Valley that are sure to take your Seder (meal) up a notch." The recipes from Roden’s book include Iraqi Sweet and Sour Fish, Matzo and Spinach Pie and Chicken soup with rice, and there’s also a recipe for Gourmet Matzos Brie from Paltrow’s godfather Steven Spielberg.
Keeping the theme of Passover, which began on Monday (29Mar10), the act ress also includes a passage from Michael Berg, the co-director of The Ka bbalah Centre.
