DAVID JOINS THE UNITED NATIONS
British singer CRAIG DAVID has been appointed a Goodwill Ambassador for t he United Nations (U.N).
The Seven Days hitmaker will join the U.N.’s Stop TB Partnership, with the World Health Organization (WHO), to help raise awareness of tuberculo sis, which claims 1.8 million lives worldwide every year.
David travelled to South Africa earlier this month (Mar10) to see how t he disease is impacting the country - and has vowed to help make a differ ence.
He says, "It was a life-changing experience for me to hear first-hand w hat it is like to live in a country where half a million people become il l with TB every year and meet people who are fighting hard and making pro gress every day.
"It’s been an incredible learning curve for me along the way. So to be able to give back in something that I feel very passionate about is somet hing that I wanted to do." Antonio Banderas and Angelina Jolie are also Goodwill Ambassadors for t he organisation.
