KINGS OF LEON have seen off competition from LADY GAGA to be crowned Brit ain’s best-selling artist online after reaching digital album sales of 25 0,000.
The band’s fourth album, Only By The Night, has been downloaded more th an a quarter of a million times in the U.K. since it was released in 2008 ..
And the figure makes the record Britain’s best-selling digital album ev er.
Official Charts Company managing director Martin Talbot says, "The succ ess of Kings of Leon illustrates the growing popularity of album download ing among music fans." Lady Gaga’s The Fame is currently in second place, and Lungs by Florenc e & The Machine is in third. It’s Not Me, It’s You, by Lily Allen and Col dplay’s Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends round out the top five.
