PUSSYCAT DOLLS wannabe NATALIE MEJIA, of girl band GIRLICIOUS, has been c harged with drug possession after Glendale, California police caught her with cocaine in her Gucci handbag.
The singer, who shot to fame after appearing in Pussycat Dolls reality show Girlicious, initially told cops she had no idea how the drugs got in to her designer bag after she and a friend were pulled over for speeding and the car was searched.
TMZ.com reports Mejia, 21, allegedly had more than a dozen bags of coca ine stashed in her purse.
The driver of the car was also charged with one felony count of possess ion for sale of a controlled substance and one misdemeanour count of driv ing without a valid license.
Mejia is scheduled to be arraigned on 15 April (10).

TAYLOR SWIFT, KEITH URBAN and KENNY CHESNEY are among the country music s uperstars who have signed on for a TV special to honour BROOKS & DUNN.
The country duo will split for good later this year (10) - but they pla n to go out with a bang.
They’ll star in upcoming TV event Brooks & Dunn - The Last Rodeo, which will feature top country stars paying tribute to them.
Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert, Brad Paisley, George Strait, and Suga rland have also agreed to be part of the televised celebration, which wil l air in America in May (10).
During the concert special, Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn will reportedly receive the Academy of Country Music’s Milestone Award in recognition of their 20-year career.
They will then embark on a summer tour before ending their partnership.

Soul legend DIANA ROSS has stunned fans by announcing a North American su mmer tour.
The Upside Down singer, who turns 66 later this month (Mar10), has anno unced plans for a greatest hits tour, which begins with a concert in Bost on, Massachusetts on 15 May (10).
Ross will play 17 dates in a month, taking in New Jersey, New York, Chi cago and Los Angeles, among other cities.

JESSICA SIMPSON’s rumoured love interest BILLY CORGAN has taken aim at he r ex JOHN MAYER over remarks he made about the pop star’s sexual prowess in a racy Playboy magazine article.
Mayer spoke candidly his sex life with Simpson, comparing her to "sexua l napalm" - and has since reached out to apologise to her after the comme nts hit the headlines.
Simpson has refused Mayer’s personal apology, recently admitting she is "disappointed by the article".
And now The Smashing Pumpkins frontman has leaped to her defence, insis ting Mayer should have kept his mouth shut.
He tells Rolling Stone magazine, "I think for any person, who has celeb rity, to sort of drop rocks at somebody else’s feet like that, there=E2=80 =99s things you should really just keep your mouths shut on. There’s thin gs that should just be left alone." Corgan also cautions Mayer about speaking to the media so candidly, ins isting it could destroy his career.
As if to prove the point, the rocker refused to confirm or deny reports he’s dating Simpson in the same interview.
Instead he said, "If people knew her like I knew her, they would love h er like I do" - a remark Simpson has already responded to, stating. "I ca n’t find good enough words to speak about Billy."

The first album of new MICHAEL JACKSON material since the King of Pop’s d eath last year (09) will be led by a track he recorded with LENNY KRAVITZ for his INVINCIBLE release.
Jackson cut the track because he felt it was "too rocky" for the album, but now producers have decided it’s the best unreleased tune from the po p superstar’s recent back catalogue.
And Kravitz reveals it was amazing to work with his idol, "It was a ble ssing… I got to work with this cat and we had so much fun. We laughed a ll day long; he’s a funny, funny dude, and the work ethic was serious… We had a lot of respect for each other. It’s a beautiful memory.

CLINT EASTWOOD’s upcoming 80th birthday will be celebrated in America wit h a marathon of his movies.
Bosses at the Turner Classic Movies channel will show Eastwood’s movies back to back for 24 hours, and debut The Eastwood Factor, a new document ary about the actor/director’s career, narrated by Morgan Freeman.

Actor CHRISTOPH WALTZ’s Sunday night (07Mar10) Oscar win was bittersweet for the Austrian - because it came at the beginning of the week he’ll hav e to give up his rented Hollywood home.
The Inglourious Basterds star has been living in Los Angeles since Sept ember (09), while filming The Green Hornet with Seth Rogen, and now the s hoot is over, he has to leave Hollywood and return to his native Austria.
And he isn’t happy.
Waltz says, "I think I was born here… I went home for two weeks or so over the holidays and then came back, and now I have to pack up this hou se and I have to leave. I’m completely desperate.
"I will be back in May and I’m glad." And Waltz admits he has nothing but fond memories of his time in Los An geles, especially driving around the city: "They gave me a car to use, wh ich is lovely and I have a navigator. I override it because it always tak es me to traffic jams. I love that it has various languages… I had it o n Polish for a while."

ELIZABETH TAYLOR has taken to her Twitter.com blog to defend pal KATHY IR ELAND from critics who accused the former model of drunken behaviour on t he red carpet at the Oscars on Sunday (07Mar10).
The reclusive movie veteran was appalled when members of the media atta cked the jewellery designer and TV personality for her behaviour as the c o-host of a pre-Oscars TV special in America.
Ireland appeared to be overwhelmed on the red carpet as she interviewed stars like Zac Efron and Gabourey Sidibe and left many critics questioni ng her sobriety.
But the mum-of-three has assured fans her strange behaviour was simply due to the fact she was delighted to be on the red carpet.
In a series of posts on her Twitter.com page, Ireland writes: "(I) cann ot please everyone… and frankly I wouldn’t ever want to. Don’t feel emb arrassed for me. Had a blast and it was so much FUN! "No meds (medication) or alcohol… just J.O.Y.! Never use drugs and th at as a Mom is not a cool or funny suggestion (sic)… Some say I looked pregnant. LOL (laugh out loud)! Not true… others say I was drinking… Just excited to be involved. Grateful." And now Taylor has weighed in, stating, "I heard that some scum magazin es, print and internet trashed Kathy Ireland on Oscar Red Carpet night. T hese rags said, to quote them, ‘She was either stoned or drunk and looked pregnant’ - what???? They must be the ones on drugs. According to police reports, two undercover diners working with the doc umentary=E2=80=99s associate producer and =E2=80=9Cdirector of clandestin e operations=E2=80=9D, Charles Hambleton, requested whale as part of a $6 00 (GBP375) omakase - a sushi meal in which the chef picks the dishes. Pop star MIKA shares an unlikely bond with SIR IAN MCKELLEN - he often tu rns to the veteran actor if he ever needs advice.
The pair established a firm friendship after meeting in 2008 - and the Grace Kelly singer knows McKellen will always be around to dish out life tips.
He tells Britain’s Cosmopolitan magazine, "We met backstage at the 2008 Brit Awards and became friends. He’s my agony uncle - or aunt - and give s fantastic advice on anything and everything.

REDBONE singer/guitarist LOLLY VEGAS has lost his battle with lung cancer at the age of 70.
According to his spokesperson Joe Ortiz, Vegas had been battling the di sease for several years, and died at his Los Angeles home last Thursday ( 04Mar10).
Vegas, real name Lolly Vasquez, co-founded the band with his brother Pa trick in 1969. The group’s single, Come and Get Your Love, peaked at numb er five on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart in 1974.
Vegas is survived by his brother.

AXL ROSE and TOMMY HILFIGER have become pals since their 2006 brawl at a New York City nightclub - after the designer confessed he was scared of g etting hurt and threw a punch in self-defence.
The pair were partying at celebrity hotspot Plumm in 2006, but the nigh t took a turn for the worse when Hilfiger and Guns N’ Roses rocker got in to a shoving match - and Hilfiger threw the first punch.
Rose’s spokesperson Noel Ashman released a statement following the inci dent: "Axl was a gentleman and had the good sense not to retaliate as he would have done some serious damage to Hilfiger." Hilfiger has now spoken out about the incident, and he insists all is f orgiven.
He tells the Poison Ivy blog,"Axl pushed me, and I said, ‘That was rude ..’ "(He) had a huge ring on. He wears all this jewelry. (I’m thinking), if I get hit, it’s over. No teeth, no eye. So I hit him before he hit me. I t was self-protection. Now we’re friends."

The singer recently insisted she is single and too busy to settle down, despite rumours linking her to pre-fame ex-boyfriend Matthew Williams.
