Fox TV executives have cut LL COOL J’s appearance in a new ad for former Alaska Governor and U.S. vice-presidential candidate SARAH PALIN’s new TV special after complaints from the rapper.
The hitmaker was upset when he heard an old interview with him was bein g used to promote Palin’s Real American Stories.
Palin has signed up as a correspondent for U.S. network Fox, and she’ll also front her own show, which tells the life story of well-known Americ ans like LL Cool J and country singer Toby Keith.
Promos for the show previewed clips of an interview the rapper purporte dly gave to Palin, in which he describes how his family "is very pro-Amer ican".
But the star insists the interview is two years old and did not involve Palin - and he has accused the former politician and Fox bosses of "misr epresenting to the public".
On his Twitter.com page, he writes, "Fox lifted an old interview I gave in 2008 to someone else & are misrepresenting to the public in order to promote Sarah Palin’s Show." Following his objections, network bosses have removed the footage featu ring the rap star and actor, real name James Todd Smith, from the ad.
A network statement reads, "Real American Stories features uplifting ta les about overcoming adversity and we believe Mr. Smith’s interview fits that criteria.
"However, as it appears that Mr. Smith does not want to be associated w ith a programme that could serve as an inspiration to others, we are cutt ing his interview from the special and wish him the best with his fledgli ng acting career." The series debuts on U.S. TV on Thursday (01Apr10).

Teen pop sensation JUSTIN BIEBER has followed up his triumph at Saturday’ s (27Mar10) Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards by topping the U.S. album char t.
The young singer’s My World 2.0 debuts at number one with 283,000 openi ng-week sales.
At 16, Bieber becomes the youngest solo male artist to reach number one on the Billboard 200 since a 13-year-old Stevie Wonder hit the top in 19 63.
His 2009 release, My World, jumps up the new chart from 10 to five, mak ing him the first act to chart two albums in the top five since Nelly ach ieved the feat in 2004.
Monica’s Still Standing debuts at two on the new countdown, while the l atest Now That’s What I Call Music! compilation - the 33rd released in th e U.S. - rounds out the new top three.

Jazz guitarist HERB ELLIS has died after a long battle with Alzheimer’s d isease, aged 88.
Ellis was a revered session musician who played with the Oscar Peterson Trio, Jimmy Dorsey and Ella Fitzgerald, among others.
Alongside Peterson and Ray Brown, Ellis was part of arguably one of the best musical trios in history.
Born in Farmersville, Texas, he toured with Dorsey from 1945 to 1948 be fore forming Soft Winds.
He became Peterson’s guitarist in the early 1950s.
A memorial will be held on 30 April (10) at a location to be determined ..

Rocker/actor COYOTE SHIVERS has wed a Playboy model 22 years his junior a fter a brief three-month engagement.
The 44-year-old star, who was previously married to actress Pauley Perr ette, exchanged vows with Mayra Dias Gomes in Las Vegas on 15 March (10).

MILEY CYRUS has confessed to stealing chickens from a California farm.
The Party In The U.S.A. singer was visiting the farm with her father an d brother Braison when they discovered the fluffy chicks would be fed to snakes at a nearby zoo that evening.
Her horrified father, Billy Ray, ordered his kids to stuff the birds in their pocket and make off with them.
Cyrus recalls, "They were gonna take the chickens and feed them to the snakes at the end of the night and my dad was like, ‘That’s the most awfu l thing I’ve ever heard.’ "They pulled me and my little brother Braison aside, and he was like, ‘ Put one in your pocket Miley, Braison put one in your pocket, and we’ll g et outta here.’ So we’re like, ‘OK, dad said we can steal chickens.’ "So we, like, shoved them in our pockets and then we’d take them home t o my mom… We were staying at, like, the Four Seasons or something, so w e had to put them in the bathtub." But then they had to get the birds back to their family farm in Nashvil le, Tennessee: "My mom told, like, the flight attendant and everyone… t hey were special birds and they couldn’t go underneath the plane.
"We kept them for a few years, but they had a natural death." After making the confession during an appearance on U.S. late night sho w Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Cyrus realised she shouldn’t have been so candid on national TV: "I’m gonna go to jail."

Sore loser SHANNEN DOHERTY declined an offer to appear on late-night U.S.
TV on Tuesday (30Mar10) after becoming the first celebrity to be voted o ff DANCING WITH THE STARS.
As is tradition on the show, the rejected stars and their dance partner s hot foot it over to Jimmy Kimmel Live! once the contest ends for them - but the former Beverly Hills, 90210 star was too upset to make an appear ance.
In making the announcement on his show, comedian Kimmel said, "Never in the history of our show has a dancer declined our invitation to particip ate. Macy Gray was so upset she couldn’t come out of the bathroom, but at least she showed up and went to our bathroom.
"Shannen Doherty elected tonight not to come. Can you imagine that? Now I’m glad I kicked her off."

Movie hunk GERARD BUTLER has opened the doors to his New York loft home a fter redesigning the space with film artist ELVIS RESTAINO and architect ALEXANDER GORLIN.
The 300 star’s dream pad in Chelsea is featured in the new issue of Arc hitectural Digest magazine.
Its castle-like decor features antique furniture, raw beams, chandelier s and a ceiling fresco, and Butler admits it’s the perfect home for him - even though it wasn’t cheap.
He says, "I wanted something elegant and gorgeous and at the same time rather masculine and raw.
"I knew it was going to take a lot of work to turn the loft into a plac e where I actually wanted to live, but I didn’t realise it would be four years before I spent the night." The two-storey loft is housed in a converted manufacturing warehouse, w hich boasts views of the Empire State Building.
Butler also boasts an apartment in London and a home in the Hollywood H ills.

LOST star DANIEL DAE KIM has been suffering for his art on the final seas on of the desert island drama - he had to have his hand glued together af ter cutting it open on a screw.
The actor was shooting an underwater scene when he had to take a trip t o the emergency room after slicing open his hand.
He tells Entertainment Weekly magazine doctors were advised not to stit ch up the wound for fear of infection - and so they decided to glue over the deep cut.
Kim tells the publication, "I actually ripped open my hand on a stray d rywall screw that was underwater. I had to run to the hospital to get my hand glued up. They were going to stitch it up, but they decided against it because they thought I might have to go back in the water again and th ey were worrying about infection. So they ended up gluing it, so it was a more watertight seal.
"People are asking me if I’m going to take any souvenir from the show, but I don’t need a piece of the show; it’s taken a piece of me! I will ha ve this scar as a souvenir."

Comedian GEORGE LOPEZ wants to turn his war of words with LINDSAY LOHAN i nto TV ratings for his late-night chat show - he’s invited the actress to be his guest.
Lopez upset the Mean Girls star by poking fun at her during his Monday night (29Mar10) show, prompting Lohan to lash out at him in a Twitter.com post.
The actress was hurt by the comic’s remarks about photos taken of her w hich clearly showed white powder billowing out of her heeled shoes as she walked.
Lopez made a cocaine reference in his joke about the troubled star, and she responded by ‘tweeting’, "Thanks for the childish comment regarding baby powder in my shoes to loosen up the leather don’t you have kids? (si c)" But, rather than apologise for his comments, Lopez has taken the opport unity to invite Lohan on his show.

Disgraced reality TV star JESSE JAMES has been hit by another scandal reg arding his infidelity during his marriage to SANDRA BULLOCK - a tattoo ar tist has revealed he was part of a sex foursome with the mechanic.
Eric McDougall has told U.S. publication Life & Style he and his recept ionist had sex with James and his mistress Michelle ‘Bombshell’ McGee at a tattoo festival last summer (09), while Bullock was promoting her film The Proposal.
The receptionist, Skittles Valentine, becomes the fifth woman linked se xually to James since news of his alleged cheating broke after telling th e publication she had unprotected intercourse with the TV star.
San Diego, California-based McDougall claims the orgy took place after the Ink-N-Iron tattoo festival in June.
He says, "Michelle came into my shop and was like, ‘I=E2=80=99d like to introduce you to my boyfriend.’ I recognised Jesse right away." The tattoo artist "filled in" an octopus design on James’ skin and then the TV star and his mistress started making moves on Valentine.
He adds, "Jesse and Michelle both wanted Skittles." The receptionist continues, "Eric and I were having sex and Jesse and I had sex. I had an awesome time. I think Jesse is so cute." But the night ended badly when McGee reportedly turned on Valentine.
The publication reports the two started fighting over time with James.
Both James and McGee failed to respond to the magazine’s requests for a comment.
Bullock walked out on James in early March (10) after McGee went public with her affair.

The Candy Shop star has been out of the spotlight since she was dropped from 50 Cent’s G-Unit Records in 2007, but she is attempting to kick-sta rt her career with a new Universal record deal and an upcoming TV show.
Olivia has been banned from revealing further details about the program me, but insists it will be hot.

Rapper FLESH-N-BONE has pleaded not guilty to 12-year-old allegations he assaulted his mother with a gun following his arrest on Sunday (28Mar10).
The troubled star, real name Stanley Howse, was arrested during a Bone Thugs-N-Harmony concert at the House of Blues in Cleveland, Ohio after co ps were tipped off about his plans to make a surprise appearance onstage with his old bandmates - the first time he’d returned to the city since 1 998.
He was arrested after an attempt to sneak out of the building failed an d he was placed behind bars at the Cuyahoga County Jail.
Howse headed to court on Monday (29Mar10) when he pleaded not guilty to domestic violence and firearm charges, amid claims he struck his mum on the side of her head with a gun, leaving her with a large cut, reports Al lHipHop.com.
He was freed after posting $10,000 (=C2=A36,665) bail and is due back i n court at a later, as-yet-unknown, date.

MADONNA is beaming with pride after learning her daughter LOURDES has bee n accepted into a top performing arts school.
The pop superstar’s eldest child, from her relationship with personal t rainer Carlos Leon, has previously expressed her desire to become an actr ess, and lost out on the chance to appear as a Hogwarts student in a Harr y Potter movie after being banned by her famous mum.
Madonna has since relented and is happy for the 13 year old to follow h er into the limelight - and the proud mother reveals Lourdes has now land ed a place studying what she loves best.
She tells Us Weekly magazine, "She just got into a performing arts high school and is majoring in drama. She wants to be an actress. I’m not pus hing her in any area. I just urge her to take whatever she does seriously .." The name of the school has not been revealed but it is believed to be l ocated in the singer’s native New York, which she has made her home base following her 2008 divorce from British director Guy Ritchie.
Madonna has also reportedly cast Lourdes in a small role in her upcomin g movie about late British royal King Edward VIII, which she plans to dir ect.

SIR PAUL McCARTNEY was forced to delay the start of his highly-anticipate d concert at Los Angeles’ Hollywood Bowl on Tuesday (30Mar10) after thous ands of fans were held up trying to enter the venue.
Seats in the arena were still half-empty at 7.30pm, when the Beatles le gend was set to kick off the sold-out gig, as concert-goers were kept wai ting to have their tickets scanned at the entrance by just a few members of venue staff.
The show began 45 minutes late, but McCartney made sure he was worth th e wait - he opened the outdoor concert with the fitting Venus and Mars Ro ck Show, a track which makes reference to "rock ‘n’ roll at the Hollywood Bowl".
He kept the 18,000-strong audience rocking for almost three hours with powerful renditions of Beatles, Wings and solo classics, such as Yesterda y, Eleanor Rigby and Lady Madonna.
McCartney also included tributes to late Fab Four member John Lennon wi th songs A Day in the Life and Give Peace a Chance, and remembered George Harrison with a moving reading of Something, reports the Los Angeles Tim es.
The star is scheduled to play a second sold-out show at the Bowl on Wed nesday night (31Mar10).

Hollywood screenwriter SHELDON TURNER is set to make his directorial debu t in a forthcoming thriller, following the whirlwind success of his Oscar -nominated film UP IN THE AIR.
Turner, who shared top screenwriting awards for co-writing the George C looney film with director Jason Reitman, will helm new movie By Virtue Fa ll, about a man who is imprisoned after being framed by his mentor.
He will co-produce the film with Jennifer Klein and Nicolas Chartier, w ho hit the headlines earlier this year (10) when he was banned from the A cademy Awards (07Mar10). Chartier was caught campaigning for votes when h e emailed voters to support his movie The Hurt Locker - a practice forbid den by Oscar bosses.
Turner has long harboured a desire to direct but admits he only felt co mpelled to take control of the camera after completing the screenplay for By Virtue Fall.
He tells Daily Variety, "This script was the first I’ve written that ma de me feel like I had no choice but to embark on my directing career." Production is scheduled to start in September (10).

America’s former First Lady BARBARA BUSH has been released from a Texas h ospital, days after she was admitted for testing following open heart sur gery.
The 84 year old, who is married to former U.S. president George Bush Sr .., was admitted to The Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas in February ( 10) after experiencing shortness of breath.
She underwent the operation on 4 March (10) after doctors detected a ha rdened valve in her heart, which if left untreated can result in heart fa ilure and death.
According to a statement released from the hospital, doctors believe sh e may have suffered a mild relapse of Graves disease since the surgery - a thyroid condition for which she was first treated in 1989.
The former First Lady, mother to former U.S. leader George W. Bush, was discharged on Wednesday (31Mar10).
