Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:34 pm

CARLY SIMON has ended nearly 40 years of speculation by finally naming th= e man who inspired her hit YOU’RE SO VAIN - her target was gay record lab= el boss DAVID GEFFEN.
The song, which catapulted the singer to fame in 1972, was rumoured to = be about one of her ex-boyfriends, which include Hollywood legend Warren = Beatty and rocker Sir Mick Jagger, but she has persistently refused to na= me the man behind the track.

Geffen ran Simon’s Elektra record label at the time of the song’s relea= se and instead of being about a failed relationship, the lyrics are now t= hought to hint at the singer’s lingering resentment after Geffen allegedl= y put more effort into promoting rival star Joni Mitchell.

MURPHY’S TOXICOLOGY RESULTS IDENTIFY ‘MULTIPLE MEDICATIONS’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:15 am

BRITTANY MURPHY died with "multiple medications" for the treatment of a "= cold or other respiratory infection" in her blood system, the Los Angeles= County Coroner has revealed.
The 32-year-old Clueless star passed away on 20 December (09) after suf= fering a cardiac arrest at her Hollywood Hills home.
Earlier this month (Feb10), the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office dec= lared the actress’ death accidental, listing community acquired pneumonia= as the primary cause of death.
Anaemia and "multiple drug intoxication" were stated on the autopsy as = contributing factors, and now officials have released the toxicology repo= rt, identifying all the drugs in her system.
The documents, released on Thursday (25Feb10), read: "Multiple medicati= ons were present in the blood, with elevated levels of hydrocodone, aceta= minophen, and chlorpheniramine. L-methamphetamine was also present." Murphy had been taking a number of prescription and over-the-counter me= dications in the weeks leading up to her death to treat what she believed= was a bout of influenza.
The report continues, "It should be noted that the pattern of use of th= ese medications suggest treatment of symptoms of a cold or other respirat= ory infection. Acetaminophen and hydrocodone are components of Vicodin. C= hlorpheniramine is the active ingredient in some over-the-counter medicat= ions. L-methamphetamine is a component of some inhalers.
"The possible adverse physiological effects of elevated levels of these= medications cannot be discounted, especially in her weakened state. Ther= efore the manner of death is accident." Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter previously revealed Murphy could stil= l be alive today if she had sought the advice and treatment of a doctor a= s soon as she fell ill last year (09).
He said, "This death could’ve been preventable. Murphy was planning on = seeing a doctor, but she unfortunately passed away before she did. This w= as a case of a person with pneumonia who was anaemic, who was taking medi= cation when she should’ve been getting medical treatment." However, the report also stated that Murphy had "no history of alcohol = or drug abuse" and was "slim but not excessively thin", despite weighing = just 115 pounds (52 kilograms) and standing at five foot, three inches ta= ll.
