NAS TARGETS KELIS IN NEW SONG

Rapper NAS has taken aim at his estranged wife KELIS in a new song, in wh= ich he questions her fidelity during their four-year marriage.
The Milkshake singer filed for divorce from Nas last year (09), just mo= nths before giving birth to their son Knight in July.
The former couple has since been embroiled in a bitter divorce battle, = arguing over the amount of child and spousal support Kelis should receive= after Nas was ordered to hand over more than $51,000 (=C2=A331,875) a mo= nth.
Now the I Can hitmaker has aired his grievances in new song Strong Will= Continue from his upcoming album Distant Relatives.
On the track, Nas raps, "Twisted and mangled, sort of like Bruce Lee li= fe/Cursed with his son Brandon/If that’s you and me Knight/I pray our fat= e’s greater/How in the hell am I supposed to stay comfy/When I pay child = support, alimony monthly…/ So I’ve stuck with some married women so fin= e/Cheating while their husband rushing on the 40-yard line/Wonder if this= is what my ex did the whole time."

ALPHIN’S PAL FOUND IN PORT-AU-PRINCE RUBBLE

BIG & RICH star KENNY ALPHIN has been left devastated by the discovery of= a missing friend’s remains in Haiti.
The country star has spent weeks in Haiti’s capital Port-au-Prince tryi= ng to find pal Walt Ratterman, who was preparing for a meeting at the cit= y’s Hotel Montana when it collapsed around him during the 12 January (10)= earthquake.
In an interview with CMT.com earlier this month (Feb10), Alphin reveale= d he was still hopeful his friend would be found alive, stating, "I am st= ill pretty sure that Walt is going to come walking up to me anywhere now,= any minute, and he’ll tap me on the shoulder and look me right in the ey= e, and go, ‘You look like you could use a little help.’ And I’ll go, ‘You= son of a b**ch. Yeah, grab a hammer.’" But Ratterman’s remains have since been found in the rubble of the Hote= l Montana, and his family has been notified.
Alphin has now jetted back from Haiti and will host a country music fun= draiser for the survivors of the earthquake, which rocked the nation.
He’ll front the Help Haiti Live concert at the Ryman Auditorium in Nash= ville, Tennessee on 27 February (10).
Joining Alphin at the event will be Alison Krauss, Jars of Clay and Mat= Kearney.

MORCHEEBA ORIGINALS REFORM

The original MORCHEEBA line-up is reforming for a series of summer shows.
Singer Skye Edwards has announced she’s rejoining Paul and Ross Godfrey= for the first time since 2003 in a post on her MySpace.com page.
The reunion will begin with an appearance at the Caprices festival in S= witzerland on 9 April (10).
Of the comeback, Edwards writes, "A meal was arranged for the three of = us… I got there early and ordered a double whisky whilst I waited for t= he Godfrey brothers to arrive. I was sooo nervous.
"We got pretty drunk that night and had a laugh. It was cool. And so it= was agreed, ‘Let’s make another Morcheeba record. Let’s do some shows!!’= " Edwards’ return comes nine months after her replacement, Daisy Martey, = announced she’d be quitting the group to write.

GABRIEL WILL NOT BE PART OF HALL OF FAME CELEBRATIONS

PETER GABRIEL will not be part of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction = ceremony in New York next month (Mar10) when his former band GENESIS beco= me members of the music museum.
The Sledgehammer singer has told Rock Hall president Joel Peresman not = to expect him at the star-studded ceremony.
The news comes a month after Gabriel told Rolling Stone magazine he wou= ld not be joining his former bandmates onstage for the group’s induction = - and could not confirm he’d actually attend the event.
He said, "I’m trying to find a way to do it… If I can work it out, I’= ll go." Gabriel revealed rehearsals for his upcoming tour might keep him from t= he Hall of Fame celebrations on 15 March (10).

PHILLIPS ENTERS REHAB FOR ANXIETY

Singer/songwriter CHYNNA PHILLIPS has checked herself into rehab for anxi= ety treatment.
The former Wilson Phillips star, who is married to actor Billy Baldwin,= was taken to an unknown facility over the weekend (13/14Feb10), accordin= g to her manager Lizzie Grubman.
She tells People.com, "After much thoughtful deliberation Chynna Philli= ps has checked herself into an undisclosed treatment facility for anxiety= ..
"With the full support of her family and friends, she is looking forwar= d to her recovery. We ask that people respect her and her family’s privac= y at this time." Last year (09), Chynna Phillips spoke out in support of her half-sister= Mackenzie after the actress revealed she’s had a decade-long sexual rela= tionship with their father, Mamas & The Papas founder John Phillips.
In an interview with Oprah Winfrey, the singer said, "I was praying for= her (Mackenzie) the whole time because it’s a very, very taboo (subject)= .. Many people were repulsed, many people were horrified at the allegation= s.
"I’m proud of my sister. Am I exceedingly joyful that my family secret = that I told, maybe, my therapist, my husband and my very best friend in t= he world (is out)? No… it’s very upsetting."

AEROSMITH BACK TOGETHER FOR DOWNLOAD FESTIVAL?

AEROSMITH’s split could be over a lot sooner than expected - the band has= signed on to co-headline Britain’s Download festival, and STEVEN TYLER i= s expected to be part of the show.
Tyler temporarily quit the group last year (09) after announcing he wan= ted a hiatus; he has since checked into rehab in an effort to kick a pain= killer addiction.
Following the shock news he’d be leaving the band, guitarist Joe Perry = revealed he’d be looking to replace the frontman with a new singer, so th= e group could honour 2010 studio and concert commitments.
But now it seems Tyler is heading back to the band - for a date at Down= load.
In what is beginning to look like one of the best rock weekend’s ever, = Aerosmith will join AC/DC, Rage Against The Machine, Them Crooked Vulture= s, Motorhead and Megadeth at Download 2010, which will take place at Doni= ngton Park from 11 to 13 June (10).

KHAN FILM TARGETED BY HINDU FUNDAMENTALISTS

Mumbai, India cinemas showing Bollywood superstar SHAH RUKH KHAN’s new mo= vie were targeted by Hindu extremists over the weekend (12-13Feb10) follo= wing the actor’s recent comments about his country’s snub of Pakistani cr= icketers.
The movie star admitted he was dismayed by the fact Pakistani sportsmen= would not be able to take part in the India Premier League 3 series - an= d Hindus took exception to his remarks.
Khan owns IPL team the Kolkata Knight Riders.
Fundamentalists tore down posters and threw stones at cinemas showing M= y Name is Khan on Friday (12Feb10), as Hindu leaders called for a boycott= of the film.
Police were called in to guard more than 60 cinemas across the capital = and outlying areas - to make sure angry extremists did not gain access to= the film houses.
But the film, which is set in the U.S., was still a big hit, especially= in America, where it took in $18 million (=C2=A311.25 million) over the = weekend.

SOUTHWEST BOSSES APOLOGISE TO SMITH

Bosses at U.S. airline Southwest have apologised to moviemaker and actor = KEVIN SMITH for kicking him off a plane bound for Burbank, California on = Saturday (13Feb10) - because of his size.
The heavyweight director had boarded the full plane in Oakland, Califor= nia when he was asked to return to the terminal.
Smith ‘tweeted’ about the humiliating incident and revealed he was able= to board a later Southwest flight.
And now Southwest Airline officials have publicly apologised to the Gig= li filmmaker.
In a post on Twitter.com directed at Smith, a company spokesman writes,= "We are sincerely sorry for your travel experience on Southwest Airlines= .." Southwest bosses insist the weight restriction on flights is not new - = the company is one of many airlines that require overweight customers to = purchase two seats if they cannot comfortably fit into one seat. The weig= ht policy has been in place for 25 years.
A statement from Southwest reads: "The policy requires passengers that = cannot fit safely and comfortably in one seat to purchase an additional s= eat while travelling. This policy is not unique to Southwest Airlines and= it is not a revenue generator." Smith maintains he was told by airline employees to leave the plane eve= n though he insisted that he fit in his seat.
The angry moviemaker tweeted, "I know I’m fat, but was (the airline) re= ally justified in throwing me off a flight for which I was already seated= ? I broke no regulation, offered no ’safety risk.’"

ROBERTS’ STAGEFRIGHT WRECKS ROCK DREAM

Young actress EMMA ROBERTS has given up her dreams of becoming a rock sta= r - because she can’t imagine ever getting up onstage to perform live.
The 19-year-old star has already recorded an album with singer/songwrit= er Jill Sobule, but admits she didn’t think the idea through.
Roberts, who plays a rocker in a dream sequence in new movie It’s Kind = of a Funny Story, says, "I don’t think I’ll be doing another album unless= I write it for someone else. I have stage fright.
"I can’t ever do theatre because I would pee my pants. It’s way too ner= ve-racking. There’s a comfort in being able to mess up when you’re on a m= ovie set."

TEQUILA FEARS MISCARRIAGE, THREATENS SUICIDE

Pregnant U.S. reality star TILA TEQUILA has sparked fresh fears for her m= ental state after threatening to commit suicide if she suffers a miscarri= age.
The internet pin-up was admitted to hospital on Saturday morning (13Feb= 10) after hitting her head in a freak accident.
In a panicked post on Twitter.com, Tequila wrote, "I just fell off of m= y chair, slammed my head into the wall and heard the back of my skull cra= ck. There’s a dent in it now!" She added, "Ambulance on the way to my house. I could have a brain conc= ussion and die in a few hours." She was diagnosed with a concussion and sent home, where she is said to= be recovering well.
But Tequila fears there is a problem with the baby after experiencing p= ains in her stomach.
In a series of bizarre blog posts on Monday morning (15Feb10), she wrot= e, "I just woke up in the middle of the night cuz (sic) I’m having these = intense sharp pains in my belly… Something is definitely wrong. The hos= pital gave me a list of symptoms (of miscarriage) & this is one of them." She then posted messages about taking her own life, writing, "I told my= friend I would just kill myself if anything ever happened." But she decided against calling emergency services and signed off with = another note explaining she would try and sleep off the pain before board= ing a flight to Australia.
Tequila was last placed on "suicide watch" in the days after the death = of her socialite fiancee Casey Johnson in January (10).

PATTINSON ENJOYED ELEPHANT ENCOUNTER ON MOVIE SET

ROBERT PATTINSON experienced the "best day" of his life on the set of his= new movie when an elephant picked him up in its mouth and turned him ups= ide down.
The animal-loving Twilight actor is currently shooting circus movie Wat= er for Elephants in California with Hollywood beauty Reese Witherspoon, b= ut it was another female co-star who caught Pattinson’s attention after a= close encounter.
He tells Details magazine, "So this big female started sniffing my foot= - big female elephant, that is.
"She sniffed it so hard it came up off the pavement like her trunk was = a vacuum cleaner. Then she took my entire body in her mouth. I was holdin= g on to her head, and as I slowly let go she tightened her grip really ca= refully until I=E2=80=99m just upside down in her mouth and she=E2=80=99s= going through my pockets with her trunk, looking for peppermints. It was= the best day of my life."

ANISTON CREATES DOLL FOR CHARITY=20

JENNIFER ANISTON is helping to raise money for a Mexican children’s shelt= er by creating a doll for charity.
The former Friends star has been a longterm supporter of Friends of El = Faro, an organisation which aims to help improve the lives of local kids = staying at Tijuana’s Casa Hogar Sion Orphanage.
Aniston recently celebrated her 41st birthday with a stay at the One & = Only Palmilla hotel in Cabo San Lucas and now she’s joined forces with re= sort bosses to create a traditional Mexican Farita Doll.
She tells Access Hollywood, "These kids aren’t sitting there thinking, = ‘Oh my life sucks, look at where I live.’ They have been given a lot of l= ove and are getting educated, which is the most important thing, having k= nowledge of what they can do." The handmade toys are priced at $95 (=C2=A360) each and all funds will = be donated to the orphanage.

DIRECTOR REFN QUITS JEKYLL AND THE DYING OF THE LIGHT

Danish director NICOLAS WINDING REFN has pulled out of KEANU REEVES’ new = adaptation of DR. JEKYLL AND MR. HYDE due to a scheduling conflict.
The filmmaker was due to take charge of Jekyll, a modern retelling of R= obert Louis Stevenson’s classic, but has since been forced to withdraw fr= om the project.
He tells EmpireOnline.com, "I just couldn’t do it when they needed me. = Keanu is a wonderful actor and I’m sure it will be a fantastic film with = him in." Refn has also dropped out of Harrison Ford’s upcoming film The Dying Of= The Light for different reasons, but insists the split was amicable.
He adds, "Unfortunately it just didn’t work out. It’s a shame. The scri= pt was fantastic but things fall apart. It’s one of those things that’s d= ifficult - I really like Harrison and I think we got along great." Instead, Refn has signed on to direct Ryan Gosling’s latest film Drive,= which is soon to begin shooting in Los Angeles.

JAY SEAN’S WEIGHT STRUGGLES

British R&B star JAY SEAN has struggled with his weight since he was a ch= ild - he shed the pounds with an obsessive diet as a teenager and has ref= used to compromise his gruelling eating regime ever since.
The 26 year old admits he was a "very, very fat kid" and only took step= s to slim down when he left home to attend medical college.
Sean cut carbohydrates, such as bread and pasta, from his diet, and emb= arked on daily workouts to lose the weight.
He says, "(I was) a very, very fat kid. I was 14 stone when I left scho= ol. I challenged myself. I used to look at pictures in magazines and go, = ‘I wish I had a body like that.’ And I said to myself, ‘One day I will lo= ok like that. I will get that body.’ And I worked my a**e off to get it. = I lost three stone over the summer, people didn’t recognise me." The singer also insists he will never deviate from his eating regime, b= ecause he’s scared the pounds will pile back on.
He adds, "Even if I’m twisted out of my head (drunk) and go for a kebab= , I’ll order the meat and chuck the bread straight away. I’m so focused o= n some areas of my life that I just won’t allow myself to veer off that p= ath."

KILLSWITCH ENGAGE FRONTMAN JONES LEAVES TOUR

KILLSWITCH ENGAGE frontman HOWARD JONES has left the band’s U.S. tour due= to "unforeseen circumstances".
Earlier this month (Feb10), the band kicked off its eight-week headlini= ng trek, but Jones has opted not to continue performing with the group, o= ffering no further explanation.
He will be replaced by All That Remains vocalist Phil Labonte for the r= emaining dates.
A statement from the band reads, "Killswitch Engage vocalist Howard Jon= es is leaving the band’s current headlining tour with The Devil Wears Pra= da and Dark Tranquility due to unforeseen circumstances. All That Remains= vocalist Phil Labonte will be filling in for Jones for a few shows in th= e interim, until the KsE guys can determine what the plan will be for the= remaining tour dates, which are currently scheduled to run through the e= nd of March."

MAYHEM CANCEL NORTH AMERICAN TOUR=20

Norwegian heavy metal rockers MAYHEM have cancelled their North American = tour - just weeks before the band’s first show.
Mayhem’s Deconsecration Part II tour with fellow rockers Tombs, Ludicra= and Krallice was scheduled to kick off 7 April (10) in Washington D.C. -= but the dates have now been scrapped over financial woes.
A statement from the band reads: "Despite all attempts to save the USA/= Canada tour, we are now forced to cancel it due to the financial situatio= n.
"We are very sorry for all those who expected to see Mayhem live. We ho= pe the situation will be better next time. We will work hard on getting b= ack over there as soon as possible."

GUNS N’ ROSES PLAY SECOND SURPRISE SHOW

GUNS N’ ROSES gave fans a sweet surprise on Valentine’s Day (14Feb10) whe= n the band played its second surprise show in New York in a week.
Frontman Axl Rose staged a small acoustic gig on Thursday (11Feb10) at = fashion designer John Varvatos’ Manhattan store as part of the city’s Fas= hion Week.
And he rocked out again with his band on Sunday playing to a star-studd= ed crowd including The Strokes singer Fabrizio Moretti at Manhattan’s Ros= e Bar.
The set included tracks from the band’s comeback album Chinese Democrac= y and classic records like Sweet Child O’ Mine.

AC/DC FAN SUFFERS CARDIAC ARREST AT MELBOURNE SHOW

AC/DC’s concert in Melbourne, Australia ended on a sad note on Sunday nig= ht (14Feb10) - when a fan was hospitalised after his heart stopped during= the show.
A 56-year-old man collapsed after complaining of severe chest pains to = St. John Ambulance first aid volunteers, who called on paramedics working= at the venue for help, reports TheAge.com.au.
Paramedic Rohan Miniken says, "While paramedics were assessing the man,= he suffered a cardiac arrest, which means his heart stopped beating effe= ctively. A defibrillator was used to deliver a small electric charge to t= he man’s heart to shock it back into a normal rhythm. The man was also gi= ven some drugs to control his pain, and fluid to stabilise his blood pres= sure." The unidentified concertgoer was admitted to the Royal Melbourne Hospit= al where his condition was deemed to be serious.
