SHYNE ‘INKS NEW DEAL WITH DEF JAM’
Recently-freed rapper SHYNE is rebuilding his career - he’s reportedly si= gned a seven-figure deal with Def Jam records.
The hip-hop star is back in the studio for the first time in a decade a= fter spending eight-years behind bars in a New York jail for his part in = a 1999 nightclub shooting. He was deported back to his native Belize foll= owing his release.
And after a bidding war between several hip-hop heavyweights, Def Jam R= ecordings has inked a new deal with the star, reports AllHipHop.com.
Shyne previously released his 2004 album, Godfather: Buried Alive, thro= ugh Def Jam while incarcerated, but reportedly fell out with boss LA Reid= over the record’s promotion.
The rapper was alleged to have been banned from entering the U.K. for t= ravelling with the wrong travel documents earlier this month (Feb10) afte= r flying into London to record new material.
