MUNIZ JOINS A ROCK BAND

Former MALCOLM IN THE MIDDLE star FRANKIE MUNIZ is embarking on another c= areer change - the actor-turned-racing driver has decided his future lies= in the music industry.
The 24 year old, who shot to fame as a child star in the family sitcom,= quit acting in 2008 to concentrate on becoming a full-time race car driv= er.
But after several years competing at a professional level, Muniz has pu= t his dream on hold to focus on another new project - he’s signed up to p= lay drums in upcoming rock band You Hang Up.
A statement on the band’s MySpace.com page reveals the star has become = a full-time member and will be dedicating his time to making the group a = success.
The message reads, "Frankie moved to Arizona in 2008 to take a break fr= om acting and pursue a professional career in racing, but has now become = a permanent fixture of You Hang Up. Between Frankie’s incredible drumming= skills and his passion for music in general, he adds a flavour to You Ha= ng Up that could not blend better with the group. GOSLING LINKED TO INTERNET ENTREPRENEUR

Hollywood star RYAN GOSLING has been linked to an internet entrepreneur a= fter the pair was spotted enjoying a pre-Valentine’s Day (14Feb10) date i= n Los Angeles.
The 29-year-old actor ended his on/off relationship with Rachel McAdams= in 2008 after they fell for each other on the set of their romantic dram= a The Notebook in 2004.
Gosling was recently rumoured to be dating British actress Jaime Murray= , after he was seen partying with the Dexter star in Las Vegas on New Yea= r’s Eve (31Dec09).

A source tells the publication, "They sat for a few hours just laughing= and making jokes. It isn’t a romance yet, but they are friends and they = really seem to like each other."

ROSSELLINI HAD THERAPY AFTER LYNCH SPLIT

ISABELLA ROSSELLINI signed up for therapy after her relationship with fil= m director DAVID LYNCH broke down - because she was so distraught at losi= ng the "big love" of her life.
The Italian beauty had already endured two failed marriages, to Martin = Scorsese and Jonathan Wiedemann, when she met Lynch on the set of his 198= 6 classic Blue Velvet.
The pair became romantically involved and were together for five years = before their love affair ended in 1991.
Rossellini, 57, admits the split hit her hard - and she underwent couns= elling to help deal with her pain.
She tells German publication Die Zeit, "David was the big love of my li= fe. And I believed that he loved me the same way, but obviously I was mis= taken. All my instincts told me we were a happy couple, but we weren’t.
"I spoke (afterwards) with other women who had been through the same th= ing. And I took therapy. But the thing that helped me the most was time."=

MCQUEEN’S LABEL WILL GO ON

Bosses of ALEXANDER MCQUEEN’s clothing company have vowed to continue the= brand in honour of the late designer.
The tragic fashion icon was found hanged at his apartment in London las= t week (11Feb10), and a post-mortem later confirmed he had died from asph= yxiation.
The fashion and showbiz worlds were plunged into mourning by the popula= r designer’s death - but the owners of his fashion company confirmed on T= hursday (18Feb10) that his name will live on in the industry.
In a moving tribute, Francois Henri-Pinault, chairman of holding compan= y PPW, called McQueen a "pure genius" and a "poet".
He says, "You understand, the Alexander McQueen trademark will live on.= Fashion has lost one of its extraordinary people. He was one of the fall= ing stars that comes across our generation. He is a person we will miss e= normously." Robert Polet, president of PPW subsidiary The Gucci Group - which owns = a 50 per cent stake in the Alexander McQueen label - adds, "We believe in= the future of the brand." It has not yet been announced whether McQueen’s upcoming show in Paris = next month (Mar10) will go ahead.

ROWLING SEEKS TO DISMISS PLAGIARISM CASE

HARRY POTTER author J.K. ROWLING has blasted a plagiarism lawsuit against= her as "absurd" - and is pressing for the case to be thrown out of court= ..
Late British writer Adrian Jacobs’ estate has filed papers alleging the= author approached Rowling’s U.K. publishers Bloomsbury in 1987, ten year= s before his death, and unsuccessfully attempted to sell them his Willy T= he Wizard stories.
Jacobs’ family members filed a lawsuit last June (09), claiming Rowling= ’s 2000 book Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire steals segments of the w= riter’s novel The Adventures of Willy the Wizard - No 1 Livid Land.
Rowling was named as a defendant in the lawsuit on Wednesday (17Feb10) = after the trustee of Jacobs’ estate, Paul Allen, realised the time limit = to sue the writer had not run out.
But Rowling has moved quickly to slam the accusation, insisting she has= never even read Jacobs’ book and will be applying to have the claim dism= issed immediately.
In a statement, she says: "The fact is I had never heard of the author = or the book before the first accusation by those connected to the author’= s estate in 2004; I have certainly never read the book.
"The claims that are made are not only unfounded but absurd and I am di= sappointed that I, and my U.K. publisher Bloomsbury, are put in a positio= n to have to defend ourselves. We will be applying to the court immediate= ly for a ruling that the claim is without merit and should therefore be d= ismissed without delay."

FONDA HAS FACE SURGERY

JANE FONDA started 2010 with a drastic beauty boost - the veteran actress= went under the knife earlier this year (10) to banish wrinkles from her = face.
The 76 year old has previously undergone cosmetic procedures to plump u= p her chest and reduce the lines around her eyes.
Now the star has admitted going back to doctors two weeks ago to help f= reshen up her face - and she’s attempted to distract attention from the r= ecent operation by getting a new haircut.
She tells British newspaper the Daily Express, "I just had some work do= ne on my chin and neck and had the bags taken away from under my eyes so = I decided it would be a good idea to get a new haircut so people will thi= nk it’s my new hair."

BECKHAM BACKS FASHION CAMPAIGN

Singer-turned-designer VICTORIA BECKHAM has backed a campaign urging fash= ion houses not to employ underweight models.
The former Spice Girls star has dabbled in various style ventures over = the years, and launched her first couture clothing collection in 2008.
And in an appearance on U.S. TV show The View on Wednesday (17Feb10), s= he threw her support behind a new drive from the Council of Fashion Desig= ners of America (CFDA) which is encouraging the industry to be more respo= nsible when dealing with young, vulnerable models.
Beckham says, "The CFDA have reached out to designers, stylists and cas= ting directors not to work with underage models, girls that are too thin = and to be more ethnically aware. And I think designers are listening.
"I had a casting last week and had some terribly thin girls come in and= it wouldn’t have worked. The campaign the CFDA has launched is called ‘H= ealth is Beauty’ and they are definitely encouraging designers to work wi= th healthier sized models."

SIMPSON TO DESIGN WATCHES

JESSICA SIMPSON is expanding her business empire by designing a new colle= ction of watches.
The singer already boasts her own jewellery line as part of her Jessica= Simpson Collection, which also includes shoes, handbags, luggage, clothi= ng and eyewear.
And now she’s adding to her fashion empire with a range of timepieces.
She says, "Creating and inspiring the collection is very near to my hea= rt - my mom and I work on this collectively and it is a passion for both = of us. It is a joy to be able to create a line that is affordable and fas= hionable. And collecting watches, both vintage and new, has been a hobby = of mine for some time so adding watches to the collection was a natural e= xtension." MOSS: ‘I’M NOT QUITTING MODELLING’

Supermodel KATE MOSS has dismissed rumours she’s set to step behind the c= amera for good, insisting she is "still having a wonderful time modelling= .." The British beauty has expanded her resume in recent years, launching a= highly successful clothing line with U.K. retailer Topshop and a range o= f perfumes.
She also recently signed up to design a collection of handbags for luxu= ry design house Longchamp and turned fashion stylist by directing a photo= shoot for Love magazine featuring her pop star pal Lily Allen.

TIMBERLAKE SILENCES FASHION SHOW GOSSIPS

JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE was determined to stop gossips from ruining his runway = show during New York Fashion Week - he asked all staff members to sign a = gagging order, according to a U.S. report.
The SexyBack hitmaker debuted his latest William Rast clothing line at = the Cedar Lake Theater on Wednesday night (17Feb10).
Timberlake reportedly demanded all employees at the venue sign a docume= nt to ensure they wouldn’t reveal inside information about him.
And he allegedly angered stylists and models by leaving just a small sp= ace for them to prepare for the runway, according to New York Post gossip= column PageSix.
A source tells the publication, "Justin made everyone sign an agreement= not to gossip about him. Then, three-quarters of the entire venue was cl= osed off for him, so all the stylists were forced to work on 31 models in= a tiny area, causing tempers to flare."

AUSTRALIAN SINGER HUNTER DIES

Pioneering Aboriginal singer RUBY HUNTER has died after suffering a heart= attack.
Hunter, 55, passed away on Wednesday (17Feb10) at her home in Victoria,= Australia, her manager Jill Shelton confirms.
The star, of Ngarrindjeri Aboriginal nationality, rose to fame after me= eting her partner and musical collaborator Archie Roach while she was liv= ing homeless in Adelaide, south Australia.
Throughout her career Hunter received two ARIA Award nominations. She a= lso won acclaim at the Deadlys - a celebration of Aboriginal achievement = in music - winning Female Artist of the Year in 2000, and Outstanding Con= tribution to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Music in 2003.
Hunter was due to perform at the upcoming Adelaide Festival.

WALSH CONFIRMS COWELL ENGAGEMENT

SIDIBE BRUSHES OFF MAGAZINE SNUB

PRECIOUS star GABOUREY SIDIBE refuses to get upset about her omission fro= m Vanity Fair magazine’s coveted Young Hollywood edition, insisting she w= ould feel out of place next to all the other young actresses.
Every year editors at the publication choose the most promising stars o= f the previous 12 months and bring them together for a group photoshoot.
The recent 2010 edition featured actresses including Kristen Stewart, C= arey Mulligan, Amanda Seyfried and Anna Kendrick.
But the line-up has been met with criticism from several newspaper colu= mnists and online bloggers, who have accused magazine bosses of failing t= o include any stars from ethnic minorities in the all-white group.
Sidibe, who has landed a Best Actress Oscar nod for her role in Preciou= s: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire, was notably absent from the featu= re. But she’s adamant she wouldn’t have wanted to take part anyway - beca= use the plus-size 26 year old would have felt awkward among a group of su= per-slender, perfectly coiffed Hollywood actresses.
She tells Access Hollywood, "At first I thought, ‘Hmm, should I be ther= e? Then I very quickly got over it. I think if I were a part of that shoo= t I would have felt a little left out anyway.
