ANDERSON HATES WATCHING HIS MOVIES

Moviemaker WES ANDERSON refuses to watch his films on the big screen - be= cause he hates spotting errors in his work.
The director is behind a string of box office hits including The Royal = Tenenbaums and Fantastic Mr. Fox.
But as soon as Anderson finishes production on his pictures, he never l= ooks at them again.
He tells Britain’s Independent newspaper, "I don’t rewatch them at all.= It’s not really a fun experience, because all I see is things that I fee= l, ‘Okay we did fix that and get that right, but that bit’s not as I’d li= ke.’ That’s no fun at all."

SARANDON’S SICK NIGHT OUT=20

Actress SUSAN SARANDON was left wiping vomit off her blouse during a nigh= t out at a New York cabaret last week (ends21Feb10) - after a performer t= hrew up on her mid-show.
Sarandon was among a crowd of celebrity revellers at Manhattan hotspot = The Box on Thursday night (18Feb10) - when transsexual performer Rose Woo= d presented a bizarre act with the Oscar winner sitting front row.
And when Wood threw up on stage as part of the performance, Sarandon wa= s splashed with the unpleasant vomit, reports the New York Post.
But the actress refused to let the foul act ruin her night. A witness s= ays, "She actually handled it very well. She was laughing while a bunch o= f guys came over to towel her off."

FANNING CELEBRATES SWEET 16

Actress DAKOTA FANNING celebrated her 16th birthday with a low-key dinner= with friends and family in Los Angeles on Saturday night (20Feb10).
The War of the Worlds star - who will mark the milestone age on Tuesday= (23Feb10) - hosted a sweet 16 bash at Beverly Hills hotspot Villa Blanca= with around 40 guests, including her parents.

WAYANS’ FEARS OVER PRYOR ROLE

MARLON WAYANS is convinced his entire career hangs on his upcoming portra= yal of legendary funnyman RICHARD PRYOR - comparing the challenge to clim= bing Mount Kilimanjaro.
The White Chicks star is set to play the late comic in new biopic Richa= rd Pryor: Is It Something I Said? Wayans admits he is fearful of cinema-goers’ reactions when the film is= eventually released in 2011, because Pryor is remembered with such rever= ence among comedy fans.
And he’s convinced the role will make or break his Hollywood career.
He tells the Los Angeles Times, "This (movie) is like an invitation to = climb Mount Kilimanjaro for me, and I’ve never been more excited in my li= fe than when I got the role. I want to prove I can handle a role such as = this one.
"He’s huge, there is so much feeling for Richard Pryor. It’s hard to be= bigger than Richard Pryor. He changed comedy, and he did it in his own u= nique way. Richard Pryor meant so much to black people. Bill Cosby was li= ke Martin Luther King but Pryor, he was like Malcolm X." Pryor passed away in 2005 at the age of 65.

LAKSHMI WELCOMES A DAUGHTER

SALMAN RUSHDIE’s ex-wife PADMA LAKSHMI has given birth to a baby girl.
The Indian-born TV chef, 39, announced in October (09) she was expectin= g her first child, branding the pregnancy a "medical miracle" after years= of struggling with endometriosis, in which the lining of the uterus grow= s in other areas of the body.
She was reportedly hospitalised after suffering complications last mont= h (Jan10), but a representative for the Top Chef star has confirmed she g= ave birth to a healthy baby girl in New York City on Saturday (20Feb10).
The tot has been named Krishna, according to UsWeekly.com.
Lakshmi, who divorced famed author Rushdie in 2007, has refused to name= the father of her baby, but recent reports suggest he’s venture capitali= st and Columbia Business School teacher Michael Dell.

WINSLET TREASURES MCQUEEN WEDDING DRESS

KATE WINSLET treasures the ALEXANDER MCQUEEN dress she wore for her first= wedding - because it reminds her of happy times spent with the tragic de= signer.
The Titanic star enlisted McQueen to design the gown for her 1998 nupti= als to first husband Jim Threapleton, the father of her daughter, Mia.
The marriage ended in divorce - but Winslet still has fond memories of = the late designer and her classic McQueen dress.
She tells British morning show GMTV, "I got to know him quite well beca= use he made my wedding dress when I married my daughter’s father.
"I’m very proud that I still have that dress and have kept it very, ver= y well because obviously it means so much more now." McQueen was found hanged at his apartment in London earlier this month = (11Feb10), and a post-mortem examination confirmed he died from asphyxiat= ion.

PENN SNAPPER CLAIMS HE NEEDED SURGERY

The photographer who accused SEAN PENN of kicking him and damaging his ca= mera allegedly underwent surgery on his knee following the incident.
The Oscar-winner was charged with two misdemeanour counts of criminal b= attery and vandalism on Friday (19Feb10) following the violent clash with= the snapper in California last October (09).
A lawyer for the photographer - previously named as Jordan Dawes - tell= s TMZ.com that his client suffered serious injuries in the scuffle and ha= d to undergo surgery to repair his knee.
The actor will be arraigned at Los Angeles County Superior Court on 22 = March (10) and faces 18 months behind bars if convicted.

50 CENT’S MOVIE SCRIPT GETS GREEN LIGHT

50 CENT is set to add another writing credit to his resume - he’s signed = a deal to bring his THINGS FALL APART project to the big screen.
The rapper has embraced numerous acting roles over the last few years, = making his cinematic debut in semi-autobiographical 2005 movie Get Rich o= r Die Tryin’. He also starred in 2008’s Righteous Kill alongside Robert D= e Niro and Al Pacino.
He wrote the script for 2009 crime drama Before I Self Destruct, to tie= in with his album of the same name - and now his next writing project ha= s been given the go ahead, according to Variety.com.
The hip-hop star co-wrote Things Fall Apart and now he’s set for a star= ring role in the picture, about a college football player.
The movie will begin shooting in Michigan in May (10) after the rapper = completes his latest tour.

KEMP THROWS RIHANNA A BIRTHDAY PARTY

RIHANNA’s rumoured boyfriend MATT KEMP has fuelled speculation about thei= r relationship by reportedly throwing the singer a surprise birthday part= y this weekend (20-21Feb10).
The Umbrella hitmaker turned 22 on Saturday (20Feb10) and the baseball = player is said to have organised a special gathering in Phoenix, Arizona,= where he is currently in training.

Rihanna has since insisted she is "single" while Kemp is adamant the pa= ir is "just good friends".

ALLEN HELPING HAITI WITH CURRY NIGHT

LOHAN BLAMES DAD FOR DRUGS DOWNFALL

LINDSAY LOHAN has blamed her father for exacerbating her drug problems - = because she hit "rock bottom" after he began talking to the press about h= er private life.
Michael Lohan first opened up about his famous daughter in 2007, and ha= s subsequently become well known for airing his grievances about their re= lationship in public.
And the Mean Girls star - who entered rehab twice in 2007 - is adamant = her dad’s decision to talk about her in the media made her problems worse= - and her drug-taking spiralled out of control.
She tells British newspaper The Sun, "When my father was going public, = that’s when I hit rock bottom. I abused substances too much and it wasn’t= the answer to my problems. People need to know that. I tried to mask my = problems with alcohol, cocaine and mind-altering substances. Now I’m in a= place where I don’t need to use anything and I can feel emotions because= I choose to. I learnt from my mistakes and now I’m healthy and happier.
"I never want to be close to losing everything I worked for and aspired= to my whole life. I was only aware of cocaine because of my dad. I was t= errified of it. But I tried it because I was stubborn, stupid, and wanted= to see what it was like. It’s not something I ever want to do again." And Lohan wants to put her experiences to good use by helping other tro= ubled youngsters.
She adds, "Mind-altering substances are so dangerous. If I can teach ot= hers, especially teens, by sharing my experiences, then that’s what I wil= l continue to do. I’ve made some dreadful mistakes but learned from them = - that has probably saved my life."

BLANCHETT CAMPAIGNS FOR AUSSIE ART FUND

CATE BLANCHETT is urging the Australian government to set up a fund to ra= ise cash for the country’s performing arts industry.
The Oscar-winning actress, who is co-artistic director of the Sydney Th= eatre Company, is calling on politicians to recognise the importance of c= reative arts companies and pour money into the industry.
Blanchett wants politicians to set up a multi-million dollar fund to he= lp Australian businesses, as she’s convinced improving the performing art= s industry will be of major benefit to the country’s economy.
Speaking at the opening of the Australian Performing Arts Market (APAM)= , which showcases local companies to the overseas market, she says, "(The= re is a) frustrating feeling of how much more performing arts could actua= lly achieve. The riches that APAM throws up is surely another reason to i= nvestigate the notion of a creative Australia fund, and for that to be se= riously reconsidered.
"I think with that long-term and relatively small investment by governm= ent, I think it could take the performing arts even further than they are= already going.
"The process of development is lengthy and costly - it’s a human medium= , the performing arts. (But) it’s a very fruitful and (financially) succe= ssful sector and I think the support would really benefit us. Not only ec= onomically, but spiritually."

BATHROOM SCARE PUSHED LOHAN INTO REHAB

LINDSAY LOHAN checked herself into rehab for the first time in 2007 after= she passed out while running a bath.
The Mean Girls star has been admitted to treatment clinics three times = over the years, to deal with a variety of issues including personal probl= ems, exhaustion, drug use and recovery from a driving under the influence= (DUI) incident.
The actress first realised she needed help in early 2007 after she took= sleeping medication Ambien and nodded off on the bathroom floor of her L= os Angeles home - as her bath overflowed around her.
Lohan tells Britain’s The Sun newspaper, "The first time I checked myse= lf in was because I had taken Ambien. It’s a sleeping aid but it makes yo= u hallucinate.
"I’d run a bath and fallen asleep on the floor and the bath had overflo= wed. When I woke up I was so scared, I called my therapist and said, ‘Can= I just go somewhere for a month? I’m around bad people and I need to tak= e care of myself.’"

GLEE SOUNDTRACK TOPS BRITISH CHART

TV musical GLEE has conquered the British album charts - the show’s sound= track jumped a massive 67 places to take the number one slot.
The series has taken the U.K. by storm in recent weeks and Glee - The M= usic, Season One, Volume One has seen off competition from Alicia Keys an= d Lady Gaga to claim the top slot.
Gaga’s The Fame climbed to number two, while Florence and The Machine’s= record Lungs, which won the Best Album prize at last week’s (16Feb10) BR= IT Awards, jumped six places to number three.
The Element of Freedom by Keys fell from the top to number four, while = Sunny Side Up by Paolo Nutini rounded out the top five.
In the U.K. singles chart, Simon Cowell’s all-star remake of R.E.M. son= g Everybody Hurts remains at number one for a second week.

BEYONCE is the envy of British women - the R&B star has topped a poll of = the most wanted celebrity bodies.
The singer came number one in the U.K. survey to find the sexiest stars= in the eyes of women, while men voted Megan Fox into first place.
Jennifer Aniston was also popular with girls, with women naming her as = the star with the prettiest face, but the male survey handed the title to= Keira Knightley.

JOEL’S DAUGHTER LANDS MUM’S MODELLING DEAL

BILLY JOEL’s daughter ALEXA RAY JOEL is following in the footsteps of her= model mother CHRISTIE BRINKLEY - she’s been named the new face of the Pr= ell shampoo line, 24 years after her mum modelled for the brand.
Brinkley famously stepped in front of the camera to advertise Prell in = 1986, while she was still married to Alexa’s musician father.

LEONA LEWIS is auctioning off a night of her company to raise money for t= he Haiti aid appeal.

BOYZONE NEARLY SCRAPPED NEW ALBUM

The surviving members of BOYZONE considered shelving their upcoming album= BROTHER following STEPHEN GATELY’s death - but agreed their late bandmat= e "would never have forgiven" them if they had scrapped the record.
The five-piece were hard at work on the album when Gately suddenly died= in October (09).
The grief-stricken group contemplated axing Brother - but after several= emotional discussions they decided to release the album in honour of Gat= ely.
Keith Duffy tells Britain’s Daily Star, "We started work on this album = over a year ago and Steo (Gately) played a big part in choosing songs - h= e was seriously excited about making it.
"If people asked us why we didn’t release the album and we said, ‘It’s = because Stephen passed away,’ he’d be there looking down saying: ‘Don’t y= ou blame it on me you little f**kers!’ He would never have forgiven us." =
