BUCKLEY IN LINE FOR POSTHUMOUS MUSICAL=20
Late rocker JEFF BUCKLEY is set to wow audiences from beyond the grave - = his music will be featured in an upcoming musical adaptation of ROMEO AND= JULIET.
The Last Goodbye weaves Buckley’s songs including Lover, You Should’ve = Come Over and Eternal Life into Shakespeare’s story of star-crossed lover= s.
The rock ‘n’ roll stage adaptation is the first to be authorised by and= created in conjunction with the estate of the singer-songwriter.
A concert version of the show was met with enthusiasm last year (09) a= t New York’s Joe’s Pub at the Public Theater, when three dates sold out l= argely due to Buckley’s fanbase.
A full production is in the works and scheduled to debut during the 201= 0-2011 season, according to Daily Variety. A location for The Last Goodby= e musical has yet to be released.
Buckley recorded only a single studio album, Grace, in 1994 and gained = a cult following after his 1997 death, aged 30. Tracks for his unfinished= second album have been released posthumously following his accidental dr= owning.
