Fame has lost its appeal for SIR ELTON JOHN because it cost his friends t= heir lives.
The rocker admits the thought of becoming a famous musician was very at= tractive when he was starting out, but now he’s convinced it’s a curse th= at kills.
He tells Parade magazine, "Princess Diana, Gianni Versace, John Lennon,= Michael Jackson, all dead. Two of them shot outside their houses. None o= f this would have happened if they hadn’t been famous. Fame attracts luna= tics.
"I never had a bodyguard, ever, until Gianni died. I don’t like celebri= ty anymore."
