COMBS, WILLIAMS AND LATIFAH TO HEADLINE HAITI BENEFIT
SEAN ‘DIDDY’ COMBS, PHARRELL WILLIAMS and QUEEN LATIFAH have signed up to= headline a charity concert to help relief efforts in earthquake-hit Hait= i.
The stars are spearheading the latest event to raise money for the Cari= bbean country, which was devastated by a massive tremor earlier this mont= h (Jan10).
The SOS Saving Ourselves - Help for Haiti concert, will take place in M= iami, Florida and will be shown on the BET TV network, as well as MTV and= VH1, on 5 February (10), according to E! Online.
The night will benefit charities including Wyclef Jean’s Yele Haiti fou= ndation, as well as CARE, Project Medishare and Children’s Safe Drinking = Water.
Combs says in a statement, "Words cannot express how I felt watching th= e catastrophic events unfold in Haiti. I believe it is our duty to come t= ogether and help our brothers and sisters in Haiti, especially now, in th= eir greatest hour of need. Together we can make a difference." George Clooney’s recent Hope For Haiti Now telethon raised over $60 mil= lion (=C2=A337.5 million) for survivors of the earthquake, while another = $3 million (=C2=A31.87 million) has flooded in from digital downloads of = the night’s performances.
