BOYLE ‘SHY’ AROUND STEWART DURING HAITI RECORDING
Scottish singing sensation SUSAN BOYLE battled severe nerves when she rec= orded her contribution to SIMON COWELL’s Haiti charity single - after mee= ting her idol ROD STEWART.
Boyle headed into the studio on Tuesday (26Jan10) to lay down her vocal= for a cover of R.E.M.’s Everybody Hurts, which the American Idol judge o= rganised to raise money for the aid appeal for earthquake-ravaged Haiti.
The 48 year old admits she became "shy" when she met Stewart but overca= me her nerves to perform on the track - and was honoured to have been ask= ed to participate by Cowell.
She says, "There’s devastation, which is awful to look at, but you can’= t sit back and do nothing. I’m glad that Simon gave me the opportunity to= be involved in this wonderful cause." Mariah Carey, Miley Cyrus, Michael Buble and Cheryl Cole are among the = stars also singing on the charity record.
