GAYSON OPPOSES COSMETIC SURGERY
Former BOND girl EUNICE GAYSON has vowed never to undergo cosmetic surger= y - because the wrinkles on her face tell the "story of her life".
The actress, who played sultry Sylvia Trench in Dr. No and From Russia = With Love, admits she was born with natural good looks, but she’s never b= een tempted to resort to the surgeon’s knife to turn back the years.
Gayson says, "I am 76 and proud of it. I feel great and I am well. (Cos= metic surgery) is not for me. My face is the story of my life - it’s the = good, the bad, the successes, the failures - there have been some of thos= e! The happiness, the childbirth - it’s all there. I’m fond of my face. I= t’s part of my soul, part of my heart, my mind. Why would I want to negat= e that, submit myself to the surgeon’s knife in exchange for what I consi= der to be a blank canvas? I inherited good genes from my parents, I admit= that, this makes a lot of difference (because) it’s a good head start, e= xcuse the pun." And Gayson insists she learned an important lesson about her looks afte= r a beautiful pal was disfigured in a car accident.
She adds, "I had a wonderful friend who (Italian portrait artist Pietro= ) Annigoni painted. He said she was the most beautiful woman in the world= ..
"She was disfigured in a car accident and she said to me - at that time= I was very young and immature and terrified of what I saw in this (hospi= tal) bed, and she said, ‘Don’t worry, I still have my painting.’ And that= set me thinking: It’s all inside of you. And she overcame it and she bec= ame more beautiful because her soul became more beautiful. Before she was= beautiful, now she was ravishing."
